jimi Jamison has made a good album, better I would have waited, although is far from their classics, it's very better than nothing. The ballad (duet) is fantastic and no song is really bad (like in his solo album were). Still praying for a reunion with peterik and Sullivan

Very good comebackalbum. Great stuff. I wonder why so less people seem to know the existance of this excellent record. If you don't know it, than you miss a lot !!!!

One of the best albums of 1999, hands down. The 3 songs that open the album are killer rockers, and from then on the ballads are AOr heaven and the rockers keep on rocking big time. Waiting for a new album since that one came out.

From: AOR freaky Date: March 22, 2004 at 5:09
Once again: all Survivor fans out there, this is as good as Survivor, boys and girls. Superb AOR and with Mecca and Pride Of Lions one of the very few AOR pearls of the last years ! BUY !

From: PJMuso Date: March 22, 2004 at 7:36
I think the fact that it's Jamisons Survivor & not the true outfit may explain the very slight lack interest. This has been re-released only recently through Frontiers & is a superb album! Jimi has a superb voice & is on form here(although a slightly more matured Vocal). The songs are strong & nowadays this disc is considered a typical AOR staple by which others are judged. It's pure AOR with some beautiful ballads & the occasional rockier number thrown in for good measure. Sounds superb!

From: CC Date: May 18, 2004 at 7:30
The re-released version has dropped the name Survivor and has two extra tracks!

From: reptil Date: June 16, 2004 at 7:50
A un euro ,si , pero nuevo. Un chollete de esos , cuando terminan exitencias. Busqué entre la basura y lo encontré.jaja

From: AORmaniac Date: January 26, 2005 at 22:54
This is not a Survivor album!!!!! It's Jamison solo album and yes... it is fantastic but still no Survivor here... still wondering why this album is in the Survivor discography. Jimi is a great singer and this album is awesome!! It is true that the re-release is better!!!

From: manos Date: February 12, 2005 at 10:35
Very decent record and very close to the sound of authentic Survivor, this guy is gifted with THE VOICE, plus the songs are top notch.

From: Wachen Date: April 11, 2005 at 14:53
This is very very good and Jamison sounds as good as ever! He's gone more raw and mature than in his glory days but I sure as hell love it as he is one of my faves ever! BUT, pay attention, this is a Jamison solo record, NOT a Survivor record, no Peterik or Sullivan on this one. If you're lokking for peterik then go purchase both Pride of lions, also excellent! This one gets 9/10

From: MadMax Date: June 7, 2005 at 4:31
This one is great! I'm not so huge survivor fan although Too Hot To Sleep is an excellent album. This is a bit faster and heavier than most survivor albums. Couple great ballads too. I have this with 2 bonus tracks, which are great too! First Day Of Love is a KiLLER!!

From: Geoff Date: November 13, 2005 at 23:15
This ain't bad at all. Good solid musicianship... though it contains the Baywatch theme song. Aside from that though, you have some good solid melodic rock like 'Cry tough', the lovely ballad 'First day of love', 'Dream too far' and 'November rain'. Not every moment of this CD is superb, but overall it does a pretty decent job. Good stuff.

From: PAUL Date: November 18, 2005 at 12:32
Geoff - ok, this album is indeed not as good as what Jimi did with SURVIVOR but man tell me, how many better new releases are there around? Not many i think. Anyway, Jim and Frankie are back and we all expect a KILLER AOR ALBUM!!!

From: Geoff Date: November 20, 2005 at 22:58
Hey Paul, I don't want to make a Freaky-like list here of bands I prefer, but feel free to send me an email at gwols@cometals.com.au and I will send you a list of hundreds and hundreds of recent releases I prefer to this one. 60+ from this year alone without taking a moment to think about it, and since 1999 probably about 700+ albums better than this. Sorry mate, it's decent IMO but IMO there are many better albums out there...

Have to agree with Geoff on this one as I think there were quite a few albums that I rated better that year & definately released since. Don't get me wrong, this is a damn fine record in places, but put this up against some of the competition from 1999 & subsequent years & it doesn't completely stand out IMO.

From: TIM (2) Date: November 21, 2005 at 7:38
Agree with Geoff & Jez on this. The best AOR album of 1999 was METROPOLIS - "The Power of the Night", & this is quite frankly a million miles from that album. Good but not great IMO.

Gran vocalista pero disco flojo, flojo...

From: juan carlos Date: May 27, 2006 at 0:26
Super-recomendado. 9/10

From: pibe Date: January 16, 2011 at 5:51
no es un disco de survivor si no de jimi jamison en solitario pero es muy bueno

From: rick kerch vzla Date: August 18, 2011 at 22:59
Great album!!!!!... is this release really called Jimi Jamison's Survivor or this should be posted on the Jimi Jamison's solo releases??? ...anyway Jimi's once again showing his powerful skills as a vocalist ...best tracks for me are "Cry Tough","Run From The Thunder"(rocks!),"Empires"(solid powerful ballad),"First Day Of Love"( ),"A Dream Too Far" & "Calling America"...the album brings 2 live bonus classics...enjoyable...93/100

From: piberock Date: October 31, 2011 at 10:46
albun en solitario de jimi jamiso no de survivor,a gran altura con temazos como CRY TOUCH,CALLING AMERICA...

From: underworld king Date: January 4, 2015 at 6:45
Picked up a Japanese release of this disc and I must say it's quite good.

From: tomdwa Date: March 30, 2020 at 15:07
This one is quite a few notches below the other Survivor albums of the years before, I'm afraid. The writing skills of Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan are sorely missed here. A few exceptions though: the songs Cry tough, Empires, A dream too far and Calling America are fine.
