From: Kim Date: January 23, 2002 at 15:37
Buying a cd, because the cover looks good, is stupid in itself. The band and this release is super. The track What the war will bring is a masterpiece.

From: Peter Date: February 12, 2002 at 9:29
This is a classic! Trust Me is one of the greatest hard rock songs ever! XbuttrockX: No one would be happier than me to buy your copy. I only have it on CD! Anyone who wants to sell it to me, mail peter.winge@home.se

From: Peter Date: February 12, 2002 at 9:31
Of course I meant that I only have it on LP! Sell the CD to me!

From: White Cat Date: August 13, 2002 at 2:24
Have this on vinyl, cool album, didn't realize the band had another release until I was browsing this site.

From: Metal Man Date: October 9, 2002 at 16:12
This album is bunk. I bought it new when it came out based on the MTV video. I thought the singer was a DIO type. I was wrong. After Shadows in the Night, which was the single and bearly listenable, the rest of the album is weak. Compare it to true, little known melodic metal like Bronz, Heavy Pettin, Le Griff, Persian Risk, or tygers of pang tang. These clowns don't come close

Hey you guys above , quit arguing. You both have great tastes in music.Slipknot and Korn are excellent as is White Wolf. They may come from different eras and styles but respect them all for their hard work and dedication to rock oriented music on the whole. If you really need to trash this music , do it elsewhere.this site is for enthusiasts and collectors of THIS STYLE of music. If it's not your bag......look elsewhere.Check out White Wolf's other c.d.'Endangered Species' It's just as GOOD.

From: Sheila Date: October 15, 2002 at 23:33
Anyone know what happened to any of the members? NEw bands etc? I knew them for about four years before they went to the name White Wolf - they were previously known as Warrior and were a favorite standing barband in many Edmonton Bars such as the (Beverly Crest Hotel- Eastside and Continental Inn -Westend) Any info would be appreciated as I chummed with a couple of the guy's girlfriends. Thanks, Sheila

THE REAL ROCK NEVER DIES!!!, THE GOOD ROCK IS ALWAYS WITH US!!!, I THINK THAT COMMERCIAL CRAP LIKE SLIPSHIT OR WIMP BIZKIT, ARE MUSIC FOR FOOLISH TEENAGERS!!!!, AND THE GOOD MUSIC IS FOR PEOPLE WHO WANTS TO HEAR GOODARPEGGIOS AND TECHNIQUE SOUNDS, THAT'S THE REAL ROCK...

From: Rene Date: August 8, 2003 at 15:25

Dan is right : this is bloody good melodic rock/AOR ! I don't know what some people are searching on this site. If you're indeed into Korn etc., then that's a pity for you, but go visiting their sites !

From: Cam Macleod Date: December 23, 2003 at 16:09
Hey People, this is the lead guitar for White Wolf.It seems you Rockers out there still care about the band which I think is great, thank you.Well in 2004,in the summer I will be releasing a new Cd.I know it's been along wait but it's coming. So keep up the chatter and i'll try to keep you informed. When the site is up,which should be soon.More info will be known.Once again thanks people for all the support and see you soon........Cam

From: Metal Pete Date: December 29, 2003 at 16:35
Thanks Cam! I like your guitar sound. I have Endangered Species but I need the first one. I think White Wolf was a great, overlooked 80's hard rock band. If anyone on here can't listen to 'SHE' and end up smiling and tapping their foot, then they shouldn't be here. This band was as overlooked as Torme's and Q5.

From: GREG ROCK Date: January 4, 2004 at 21:14
ALL IN ALL THE MOST CONSISTENT EXCELLENT HARD ROCK OF THE 80'S CAME FROM CANADA. HELIX (SOLO FROM YOU KEEP ME ROCKIN' RULES)CONEY HATCH, KIM MITCHELL,ALDO NOVA(!!!),AND OF COURSE WHITE WOLF AMONG OTHERS OFFERED A MUCH DIFFERENT APPROACH TO HARD ROCK THAN THE NEW YORK AND LA BANDS. AS A RULE THE SONGWRITING IS MUCH MORE ADVANCED AND THE PLAYING IS NOT JUST ATHLETIC POSTURING. THEIR IS A GUTSINESS TO THE PLAYING AND SINGING AS WELL AS THE LYRICS THAT FEW 'HARD ROCK' BANDS STATESIDE CAN MATCH. Y&T,

From: Rock Goddezz Date: January 21, 2004 at 18:40
I got this CD becuase of the name of the band. I didn't know what to expect. They kick ass! And if you got the on CD for $4 you got one hell of a deal becuase this puppy sells for $24.00+ on ebay! Well worth every penny. Huge White Wolf fan here! I will agreee this CD is better than Engangered Species. But ES doesn't suck.

From: alansnumber Date: January 31, 2004 at 18:48

Hi there, I was looking through my old stuff and dug up a Video from the mid 80's put it ina and it had the video clip of the song 'Shadows in the Night'.... The song Rocks!! So I did a search on google to read up on them, and now I am here. Now I got to get myself a copy of the CD. Do the rest of the songs on the album rock like this tune? Cheers! Metal Head from Down Under!

I remember getting this just because of the name 'White Wolf' - I was young and obsessed with animals at the time (we are talking like 7 years old or something) and loved it then and still love it now. I think the album holds up very well... maybe it won't be remembered by the masses as fondly as other 'hair-esque' bands but they are still cool in my book. Anyone that likes AOR should give it a whirl, they might come out surprised. PS Slipknot sucks. HA!

From: Impaler Date: February 22, 2004 at 12:24
I got this on cassette back in '84 after seeing the video for 'Shadows In The Night'-a classic! It cost me $27 to pick it up on CD but well worth it. They do a great job of mixing melodic hard rock with a touch of canadian progressive metal(Rush/Triumph).

From: Hask Date: March 30, 2004 at 16:42
Awesome mid 80's melodic metal. Best similarity I can think of is the band Kick Axe.

From: HockeyJimm Date: May 29, 2004 at 23:41
I did a spotlight gig for them in Cocoa Beach FL back in 85. The headlining act cancelled and they asked the guys in White Wolf if they would fill both spots of the bill. They came back after their original set and did a kick ass set of covers including Scorp's 'Blackout' and DP's 'Smoke on the Water'. It was pretty funny because you could tell they were just picking them out as they were playing them. They closed with a second version of 'Shadows in the Night'. The crowd absolutely loved it. I

From: Rik Date: September 18, 2004 at 4:39
Excellent melodic metal. Ahead of their time yes. And to all the Slipknot and Korn fans. Well if there is anything out thats more commercial then these bands are just let men know. Yeah maybe Madonna ! And if your into that kind of stuff then go visit the teenager sites that i am sure are out there. Just look for the pop up banners....

From: Metalhead66 Date: November 11, 2004 at 17:16
This is also a Great Album! I haven't heard it in a while...well it's been quite a while but I really liked it at the time.I don't know where to get it but if you see it get it!9/10

From: mr roads Date: January 20, 2005 at 3:51
Great album indeed!!! Sometimes vocals remains me a bit of Graham Bonnet (one singer of two). The songs are very different, so is never boring!!! Good MelodicRock/Metal and AOR never dies!!!

From: Swriter Date: April 19, 2005 at 17:14
very solid melodic rock/aor album, this was way before most of the 80's hair metal bands and not sure why it went unoticed??? a good one!!!

From: Nick C Date: April 20, 2005 at 15:27
Yeah a pretty good album this one...only got it on vinyl though. I love the line on the song What will the War Bring? 'What will the war bring?...It will bring you to your knees'. Nice melodic metal unfortunately my copy is pretty goosed now as a few years ago a burst water pipe ruined a few of my albums and this was one...it's very crackly now so I should really look for a new copy!

I remember getting a plastic sampler 45 record of this band in the mail. It had like 30 second clips of some of the songs. One of the band memebers talked on it, and I remember him saying something about the song 'Shadows in the Night', how it was gonna be the 'Stairway to Heaven' of the 80's. Anybody else get this sampler? Anyway, if their name was White Wolf, how come the animal on the cover looks like a rat?

From: Soylent Ape Date: July 14, 2007 at 22:05
I have to say that I like contemporary music. However, when you hear a big Disturbed or Linkin Park chorus, where do you think that comes from? White Wolf were a great band from the Heartland of Canada. I think 'Endangered Species' had a tighter, more polished sound that suited the band better. Nothing against 'Standing..', though. (Except maybe the cheesy cover art.) There is are a lot of new issues/reissues from White Wolf and its former members out now and, no doubt, worth checking out!
