Heavy Harmonies Review
From: Dan Date: March 16, 2003 at 4:30
Ok. Here's the scene: You're back in 1988... well, that's it. You're back in 1988. This album sounds straight out of that era (which is a good thing, IMHO). If you were to pop it into a player and have people guess when it came out, no one, and I mean NO ONE would guess 2000. This is vintage '80s hard rock. The lead vocalist has a voice that seems like it would be more suited to sleaze glam, but this is first-class melodic hard rock. Very melodic stuff, full of hooks and radio friendly. Very easy to listen to and find your self humming along to the music. Any number of tracks on the album sound like they could have been top hits in the late 1980s.

Solid musically, with good arrangements. The choruses are excellent, pretty much of a gang-style chorus. Both the ballads and the heavier rocking numbers are carried off well; the heavier material has a good "crunch" to it. If I have one criticism it's that in places it sounds a little "low budget" and seems like a few rough edges could be filed down a bit more... I'm splitting hairs here. The bottom line is that this is an excellent album and it has a high "replay" factor going for it; you don't get tired of the disc. Get it now!

Rating: 90/100

For hair metal fans, this CD is hotter than an atomic blast. Rising from the ashes of Shy Tiger, Anatomic takes their early Warrant-style pop-metal sound to the next level, beefing up the guitars, really improving the production, and writing even stronger songs. Additionally, the requisite big choruses and backing vocals are in place, making this one of the best (albeit underappreciated) melodic hard rock releases of 2000.

One of my favourite albums of 2000. Great production, big guitars and chorus's.

From: Anthony Wild Date: September 23, 2002 at 23:48
This has nothing to do with HAIR METAL at all! This is real good stuff, the singer sounds at times like Bon Jovi! These guys know their melodies! Bravo!!! 9/10

From: James Date: October 24, 2002 at 17:58
Like M Allen stated above, you should check out Shy Tiger.

From: jayglam@hotmail Date: March 17, 2003 at 12:09
I loved shy Tiger feed the kitty just a brilliant album. When I found out Shy Tiger had changed their name to Anatomic, I thought they would change their sound to a more modern alternative sound. I so glad I was wrong, this is possibly better than the shy tiger album, this is awesome, I Love the singers voice elements of early Bon Jovi to it. If you Like bands Like winger, firehouse, danger danger check out ANATOMIC and SHY TIGER. great stuff. Jay from Australia.

From: Rycheage Date: April 6, 2004 at 23:02
Overall, it's clear that Anatomic has sensibly tried to create an individual sound on 'In For The Thrill' and the result is an album of enjoyable melodic rock as perfected by Bon Jovi, Firehouse and Def Leppard. It’s not in that league, and probably won't get Anatomic signed to a major label, but will at least ensure the band a loyal following and healthy sales.

From: Geoff Date: May 25, 2004 at 3:44
As a huge fan of 'Feed the kitty' by Shy Tiger, I guess I'd have to say I prefer the Shy Tiger album, but as a follow-up, this is far from dissapointing. Great album, great songs and I guess with a little more of the balls featured on the Shy Tiger album, this would be just as good. Still, an excellent album and I hope dearly there will be another because the guys are excellent melodic hard rock song writers!

This is real 'feel good' sounding melodic rock music which reminds me of BON JOVI.I like the vocalist who is really pleasant to listen to.Out of my heart is a great ballad.Make it real, until you're gone and hate to say goodbye are some of the highlights on an enjoyable cd.

From: figgy Date: November 22, 2005 at 9:36
Not bad cd.In the form of 80's style hard rock.Good over all production.Guitar licks are good but not awesome.I still enjoy listening to this one

From: glamjunkie Date: March 8, 2006 at 21:45
Top album. If you like these guys, check out Australian band TEARGAS. Very similar style.

From: kipvanpearcy Date: August 1, 2007 at 17:22
Yep, this CD makes you feel that you're back in 1988. I was totally shocked to see that it was actually released in 2000. I like almost all the songs, the accoustic version of Make It Real alone makes it worth it.

From: YNGWIEVIKING Date: September 15, 2007 at 2:42
GOOD CD 78/100 /but not awesome IMHO ! the songs are OK but the production is a little bit weak even if you compare it to the great classics of the genre back 20 years ago ! If you are a fan of SHY TIGER you'll love it / GOOD ANYWAY

From: CC Date: May 16, 2009 at 13:34
Wonder what happened to these guys? I got a demo of some songs they recorded after this, but heard nothing since. Shame!

From: hair metal again Date: August 17, 2012 at 4:53
pretty good release by ANATOMIC ,commercial hard rock with fine hooks and melodies but no big hits and i d prefer some more rock n roll attitude into those songs !this would be a better combo i think!anyway you can find some good songs here and overall is an enjoyable one!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: September 6, 2012 at 15:33
What a pleasant surprise indeed!!!...good album with an 80's touch IMO...good vocalist and good songs...nothing can possibly go wrong with such adjectives ...some of the songs without being labeled "AOR" have some feel to it(2,5 & 8)...another interesting shots are tracks 1,3(rocks!),9(nice softy),10 & 11(nice softy)...recommended...89/100

From: 123charpenay Date: November 9, 2016 at 14:15
hum sorry but i m not agree with others comments.for me this record have absoluty nothing extraordinary.it s a decent melodic rock realise not more.all songs are average and have nothing special.i can add that the singer is very limited, he have a weak voice, with a bad stamp of voice.
