Hey Purrfect Kat, are these guys any good? I know they're expensive.

From: David Date: August 1, 2002 at 0:29
I Don't about Purrfect Kat, but these guys really rock. They sound like mix between Motley Crue/Skid Row. Pretty impressive!! There seconds album is the best!

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 1, 2002 at 0:36
Hey Tim.....Yes this cd is very good from start to finish and is worth buying but their second cd called Blindmans Justice which was released in 1995 is not as good because they changed their music style.

From: TIM Date: August 1, 2002 at 0:42
Thanks to both of you. I'll give them a try.

From: David Date: August 1, 2002 at 0:47
Excellent production and put a lot of effort in, both of their cd's are worth the price. One more thing if TIM, Jason (FA - Q), Kim, Desslar and Koogles haven't heard this band please do me a favor and go out and buy their second release called Blindmans' Justice first and I would love to hear what you guys have to say about them. I recommend this album so much. Just Excellent!!!!! P.S. I had this band recommended to me, and I took a punt and it was the best musical move I've mad in my live.

A cross between Motley Crue and Skid Row???.....Really?...I disageee with that opinion but I respect it...If thats what you hear when you listen to this cd then that's cool but cuz I know Tim I best give my opinion of who they sound like ...hmmmm....ok...I think they sound more like Evenrude but that's just my lil opinion.

From: TIM Date: August 1, 2002 at 10:14
I'm not a big Evenrude fan. I think 'Ole is highly overrated and overpriced.

From: Kim Date: August 1, 2002 at 11:23
I will buy them the next time I see them. But eventhough theyre from Sweden, close to Denmark where I live. Its damn hard to find releases by them. I`ll keep looking though. I think some of the players now play in the party band Black Ingvars.

From: TIM Date: August 1, 2002 at 11:34
Both discs are currently on Ebay. By the way Kim, is Y-Rawchild any good? They're from Denmark so I figured you would know.

From: TIM Date: August 1, 2002 at 11:36
Sorry Kim, you already answered my question. Thanks.

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 1, 2002 at 19:00
Tim...I have no problem with Ryan or anyone else...I am happy go lucky.. "smiles".......Oh and I meant Evenrude - One Size Fits All cd, not the cd called this ole town.

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 1, 2002 at 19:14
I don't have this site bookmarked and only stop in when I am looking for certain song tracks so I won't be able to reply all the time when I asked something...I do like this site and donated to it about 3 years ago so hopefully more will do the same because there is an awful lot of work done to keep it maintained....I have to give opinions of bands on a regular basis because I sell and trade all the time so I can't afford to make a mistake when I give an opinion or else a cd could be returned.

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 1, 2002 at 19:20
I am no expert on music but when I see bands being advertised as something they are not then I have to give an honest opinion or people will be really disappointed if they buy some of the cds that are being described as something they are not...The person who left the feedback on Hysteria sucking is a prime example of a person who is jealous of the success the band got and there for decided to make an inaccurate statement that they sucked..An opinion is one thing but Facts are another.

From: TIM Date: August 1, 2002 at 20:25
I knew you were referring to "One Size Fits All." I've never heard his other material.

From: M. Allen Date: August 8, 2002 at 14:31
A Swedish melodic hard rock masterpiece, an absolute must-own for any fan of the genre. Matt Leven is one of the greatest hard music singers of all time, on par with the likes of Jeff Scott Soto, Mark Free, & Sebastian Bach, and his vocals mesh perfectly with the punchy hooks and great choruses on this CD. A lot of high-priced CDs ain't worth crap but this puppy is worth every penny. Sell your body on the streetcorner if you have to in order to afford a copy...it's really that good.

From: P.C. Date: August 16, 2002 at 19:16
S.E. debut is still bestest european glam rock record !!! Absolute hit :"We're Wild, Young and Free" . This one kick your heart .

From: nitrodoll Date: August 20, 2002 at 14:47
perfect disc..i wish i could see the video again for 'wild young and free'. this song and 'rock n roll city' was also covered by other swedish rockers 'bai gang'..yeah, this album is ultracool..nitrodoll1974@hotmail.com

From: kristian Date: August 25, 2002 at 13:37
Swedish erotica are the best, many bands got succes with playing almost similar to these guys, but weren't half as talented.

From: Date: September 22, 2002 at 5:12
I have it on MC. This is very good music. Has it someone for trade on CD in mint/perfect condition? vrob7173@yahoo.com

From: Teo_3 Date: December 19, 2002 at 21:05
This is truly one masterpiece with perfect guitars and smashing tunes like my favorite "Rock 'n' Roll City" and "We're Wild, Young and Free".There is not a song in this album that will make you press skip.BUY at first sight.

From: Great Dane Date: March 23, 2003 at 14:58
Perfect release. One of the gems in my collection.

From: Federico Date: March 28, 2003 at 15:53
I am a fan of Mats Leven. For sure this is a great hard rock album. Rock n' roll city is a great song with a cool lyric. I have only 8 songs, and I have downloaded them. This cd is very hard to find, a good idea would be reprint it. I hope that some label will hear my call.

From: Fishhead Date: April 9, 2003 at 12:12
I have my copy since 1990. It's a great kickass item."Rock'n Roll City, Break the Walls and Hollywood Dreams are my favourites. A few years later it was sold "nice price" 5 bucks. "a long time ago,far far away in a galaxy....."!

From: Patrik Ek Date: May 2, 2003 at 10:00
Did you know Magnus Ax is now running Gothenburg Rock Club STICKY FINGERS, give it a visit if your in town (and request some Swedish Erotica music!) More info at: www.stickyfingers.nu This album is really good melodic sleeze / glam! //Patrik Ek, Gotheburg, Sweden.

killer cd.from start to finnish.and if you like matt levens voice.try treats s/t cd hes on that too.in places this sound like shotgun messiah s/t cd.play this loud when your out in your car.

From: DANTE Date: April 13, 2004 at 13:14

From: aorquest Date: April 17, 2004 at 9:47
I guess I should put my two cents in on this cd. This cd totally rocks. I am a big EVENRUDE fan all the way. When I shelled out $150 for his cd, everyone thought I had lost my mind. But this and his are both awesome. Good vocals, and good songs. Straight up ass kicking rock and roll. Swedish Erotica and Evenrude keep it up. Rock on!

From: PEUMAN Date: May 6, 2004 at 22:05
Both Cd's are Great in there Respected Styles, listen to the First one if you wanna be Layed Back and Rock, Blindmans Justice will Rock Your Socks Off, the Guitar Sound and Hooks are More Agressive and Really Grabs ya by the Balls, alittle funky in areas, Alternative?....no, just good ole 80's Funky Slammin Hard Rock....Recommended...

From: PEUMAN Date: May 6, 2004 at 22:12
Understand People....This cd was done in 89, A newer updated Heavier sound is kinda expected 6 years later, while still maintaining the Hard Rock roots that made them in the first Place...

From: TIM (2) Date: June 3, 2004 at 4:50
The 2 Swedish Erotica CDs are all over eBay now and are reasonably priced, so snap up this first one if you see it. "Blindmans Justice" is not my bag at all, but this one is absolute class and is very similar to Evenrude as mentioned above, but slightly rockier and with better vocals. Both this, and Evenrude are essential CDs though.

From: R.S. - Rocks Date: August 16, 2004 at 18:09
A really great record. But don´t buy the japanese version, cause there are 2 songs missing- "Rock´n Roll City" and "Hollywood Dreams" (Acoustic version), which are on the swedish and german pressing. So you get 12 songs there and not only 10. I own the rare german 1´st pressing from ´89 with the blue backcover. The most cd´s I saw had the black one. So take this album at any price cause it rocks!

From: Geoff Date: August 16, 2004 at 21:06
Oh the joys of this CD! The mighty Mats Leven lending his heavenly vocal chords to some first class riff heavy sleaze metal. I love it! Not a track I dislike here and some of the coolest riffs out there. Too many of the great hard rockers to single out, but also want to mention how wonderfully they pull off the ballad too. I love 'Hollywood dreams', but then again I love the whole album! The other vocalist is excellent too... 9.3/10

From: M.Axx Date: December 11, 2004 at 13:47
Hi everyone were gonna re-release the first album + a new cd with unreleased material made for the second album with Matt.S.Leven on vocals. Both cd´s are gonna be released in 2005. Magnus Axx

From: David Date: December 11, 2004 at 17:42
Best news I've heard since the return of American Angel!!!!!!!!!!!

From: Muddley Date: December 12, 2004 at 15:45
Cool, cant wait.

From: Paolo Date: December 13, 2004 at 3:31
Hi Magnus Axx, great news!! Any chance for a release of the early demos with Goran Edman on vocals?

From: glamcityrocks Date: February 3, 2006 at 17:28
We should have it called Swedish boredom! sorry 4 these words but I don't wanna offend to the fans & less the swedish! where is the punch, the fury, the attitude & the most important where is the fuckin'roll sleazeglam here. Listenings & Listenings and I feel as cold as a cold cold shower(KIX).C'mon is soft & so boring 4 meand I don't understand what"the fuck are doing these tedious non real glammers here"! hey Johnny D'Fox(your Hellcats still are wrong) S.E. is the typical AOR hardrock band

From: glamcityrocks Date: February 3, 2006 at 17:38
Without any kind of claim. "R'n'R city" is all less that(need more attitude), "wild young & free" is not bad good vocals in a little bit sleaze style but nothing more "Love me or leave me" & "Love on the line"(just horrible, I hate this kind of metal screams). This is exactly the worst 4 me I hate all the conceited metal singers, I don't want this 4 me and less 4 my R'n'R band); "Hwood Dreams" is so stuck up which no means that (very boring);"Love hunger" stupid lyrics love hunger at the first

From: glamcityrocks Date: February 3, 2006 at 17:46
Sight(I've heard this million times) and what can I say more more about the singer, is not bad for this style but most of the times try to imitate D. Coverdale(1987 album) or some kind similar singers! OOh my god!I don't beleive it! I don't know why I bought this(because I'm the bigger sleazeglamjunkie ever here!; no english, no german, no Scandinavian, no Italian) but european (I wished to be english, in fact I look like one of them"sleaze white skinny boy") Where are those Lipstick leather

From: glamcityrocks Date: February 3, 2006 at 17:54
Swedish glamsters gone! Easy actionthe best band in Scandinavia of course after H. Rocks in the sleaze music, shotgun Messiah, Kingpin, Trash, Reptile Smile, Tornado Babies, Glorious Bankrobbers, Rolene, Road Rats, Rolene, Pelle Algrem even Electric boys or the great swedish glamters PUSSY GALORE(you should be know what i'm talking) without mention Backyard Babies just only one song from them blow the whole record of S.Erotica or even the new great talents from this beautiful land Crashdiet,...

From: glamcityrocks Date: February 3, 2006 at 18:02
Tease Teaser, love Injections,... But if you listen many times this swedish erotica you will find at the end decents"hidden" tracks "Loade gun", "she dreives me crazy" "Rip it off" which are more rockers. I love R'n'R more than anything in this fuckin damn non glam world even more than myself but this kind of stuff is soft & without passion 4 my R'n'R style or way of life. Not bad but too much too much overvalued The eyeliner aka glamcityrocks have spoken. See ya soon, bye . Heavy harmoniesok

I'd call this more metal than sleaze/glam. It's got some sleazy elements but mainly it's straight up hard rock/metal ala 1989. Nice production, great guitar sounds with great vocals and big ass choruses. But if you're looking for sleaze you may think like "glamcityrocks" above, although hopefully with less words... Good stuff IMHO, I'd give it a 8/10.

From: glamcityrocks Date: March 6, 2006 at 8:08
Yes, less words & more rock'n'roll from Swedish Erotica, all you say about the band is not bad but I have heard many people talkin' about this cd like a masterpiece and so when I found it and listened the world comes down. but is honest hard rock not driven sleazeglam trash punk that I was looking for! Swedish erotica 5/10. thanks

From: garden Date: May 26, 2006 at 21:11
it`s not so strange that swedish erotica is simmular to evenrude. i am not shore, but i think ole (jakob) evenrud, whitch is his real name, has prodused this album and written wild, woung and free.w,y &f is also releesed with norwegian lyricks by a band called brød & cirkus. also signed evenrude. he is now one of norways most famoust produsers and song wrigters, and a former judge in the norwegian idol.can anyone confirm any of this? (why isn't brød & cirkus on the list of bands?

From: Pudelrockarn Date: March 4, 2007 at 11:16
Overrated band, I can't believe how people can like this band. It's nothing special and the melodies are uninspired. God what I hate sleaze bands from Sweden... they're just wannabes!

From: hernanHRM/AOR Date: December 28, 2007 at 18:22

From: rick kerch vzla Date: May 12, 2010 at 20:39
Killer album with plenty of happy moments!..enjoyable at its highest point!.."Rock And Roll City" is an excellent opener,"Love On The Line" has marvellous choruses,"We're Wild,Young & Free" AOR-ish and excellent,"Love Hunger" catchy,"Downtown" is another excellent tune along with "She Drives Me Crazy","Loaded Gun" is another AOR-ish song,"Rip It Off" is very cool..the album brings a hidden track that is also a highlight!..Swedish Erotica..From Sweeden??..yeah!,pure and simple...buy!!!!.96/100

From: hair metal again Date: March 10, 2014 at 3:27
excellent debut by SWEDISH EROTICA with great production, sound, songs, hooks and looks!the guitar work is great and Mats rip it off!a great commercial edge all over and this one is a must have!

From: titothetitan Date: March 13, 2018 at 9:35
Yeah great production and some nice songs like 'Hollywood Dreams' but I'm not as thrilled as I was with Europe, Treat, Alien. Got a Dvd bootleg titled 'Live in Sweden 15.08.1989'.

From: Stixx Date: January 31, 2022 at 16:36
(Geoff said it nicely,) A great sleaze rock album from very promising band at the time. But is often the case, since they were from Europe, signed to European Virgin, Virgin USA did not feel they wanted to share possible profit with a European/other label division, so they opted to launch Roxx Gang instead. What a waste! Roxx Gang were good too, but this Swedish Erotica debut did well in EU with 3 great videos, and could have done well in US too. But OFTEN the US marketing will not be, or be poor, when European artists. Exception was Europe, who had a manager that signed them a solid deal (and took the money himself, but still TFC sold 6 millon copies) and Shotgun Messiah, who only had a tiny label in Sweden '88 and hence could re-mix, change name, and get a full promotion and (nearly) gold record with debut in '89 on Relativity. This Swedish Erotica debut CD is one of the very best in its genre. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMzcOFEp_Wk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKCB1a-u0ZQ
