From: TIM Date: August 10, 2002 at 20:12
These guys have some good tunes. Not perfect, but much better than many of the high- priced rarities.

From: David Date: August 10, 2002 at 21:53
TIM, Do you know the exact year on this one and who do they sound like? Their name would indercate 1989 and sleazey?

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 11, 2002 at 8:16
Hi...Tim asked me to come back and give a description of this band so I will.....This is a very rare cd and much in demand so I shouldn't really be saying this cuz I am into these rare cds and I don't want to reduce the market value on it but I have to be honest.....They play a very plain style of Hard Rock and their singer couldn't hit a high note if you paid him....The ballad called ..(Tossin & Turnin) is very plain with no feeling....The only close to decent song on this cd is 'Only In Dreams

From: TIM Date: August 11, 2002 at 8:37
Thanks Kat. David, I loaned my copy to someone else and I couldn't remember who they sounded like so I asked Kat to help you out. The inserts were undated. I really liked these guys, but I'll have to wait until I get mine back to give accurate details. I remember liking these guys much better than K.K. Wilde and Swingin' Thing. They sounded very 80s like. I'd go with whoever's opinion you favor more often.

From: TIM Date: August 11, 2002 at 8:40
By the way Purrfect Kat, I was teasing you about 'the letter' so I hope you weren't offended.

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 11, 2002 at 8:50
no I wasn't offended at all......Too many seen it on my website so not alot I can do about it now.......I just have to learn to keep my clothes on.......lol

From: TIM Date: August 11, 2002 at 8:58
By the way Purrfect Kat, who does Crystal Ball sound like? I think Cinderella's 'Shake Me' would have fit too- LOL. Naughty Naughty would have worked.

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 11, 2002 at 9:10
I can't compare Crystal Ball to anyone cuz I Love that band......I will say tho their frist cd is better then their cd and I can't comment on their 3rd yet cuz Scott Leach has yet to sign it and send it to me...So I think that's what I will do right now.....Is email him and tell him to put down the damn guitar and send it before I get on a plane and go over there and get it myself.

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 11, 2002 at 9:16
ahhh now I know what you are talking about......naaaw....'Shot Of Love'....was the one cuz thats how I was feeling when I did it.........I have go........It was nice talking to you again Tim :-).......bye

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 11, 2002 at 9:18
geezes....see what happens when ya mention that...I start making typos......lol........I have to go...........later tater

From: David Date: August 11, 2002 at 9:20

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 11, 2002 at 9:34

From: Purrfect Kat Date: August 11, 2002 at 9:36
hmmmm that didn't work........guess I best use the door.....'spins around and leaves'

From: TIM Date: August 11, 2002 at 10:00
I thought you had to go. It sounds like you're rewriting 'Dance Fever' around here- LOL.

From: TIM Date: October 31, 2002 at 13:11
Imagine a heavy dose of Dokken with hints of Poison and you'd have this band.

From: JF Date: April 10, 2003 at 22:43
I found a copy of this CD today in a used CD store. I had never seen it before. Tim's desciption of a heavier Dokken is right on the money. It's a pretty good CD. The production isn't too bad either for an indie.

From: TIM Date: April 10, 2003 at 22:51
You found a very expensive cd there JF. Wanna trade? lol.

From: tomcat Date: May 21, 2003 at 15:14
i never really got into this disc....i remember liking 'wild and free'..i'll put it in my car tonite.. rock on batcave777@hotmail.com

From: JF Date: November 16, 2003 at 21:32
I noticed that it says 19?? for the year on this one. In case anyone is wondering, it was 1989.

From: Studboy Date: January 16, 2004 at 0:28
This is an excellent indie CD. I don't care what anyone else has posted, it is definitely worth a listen!

From: Dave Date: January 20, 2004 at 5:01
Great band and nice guys. Their 2nd release was better. Too bad they are not still around. Does anyone know if they are in other projects? Didn't Sea of Soul have Sweet FA's singer in it?

From: MButt Date: January 20, 2004 at 20:39
what is the 2nd release's title? never heard of a 2nd release by this band. let us all in on the secret. thanks!

From: Dave Date: January 22, 2004 at 2:36
2Nd CD/Tape was 'SchoolBoy Crush' Side One: Reap The Whirlwing-Bad Bitch-Sleepless Nights- Without You-Calling Out Side Two: Until..-Such a Waste-I pledge Allegiance-Name Your Poison-At the Altar. Released 1992. Rusty was a great drummer, played with shattered Elbow and still did better than most. Anyone know where they all are?

From: Geddy Date: March 7, 2004 at 1:26
They are no longer playing as Schoolboy Crush. A member or two formed another band called Simonbar Sinister. I have the cd and they opened for Mercyful Fate a few years ago in Cincinnati. They do a killer version of the Edmond Fitzgerald.

From: D'Saint Date: March 17, 2004 at 19:04
I have copies of Schoolboy Crush's Electric Playground as well as the 2nd self-titled release. The 2nd will be available on cd remastered soon. I also have ALL of SIMON BARR SINISTER's stuff. Why? because I am the lead vocalist from the second S.B.C. recordings and the co-founder of S.B.S.

From: Geoff Date: September 2, 2004 at 0:01
I'd love to hear the second release by these guys. I think this one is a pretty good CD. Simple hard rock and hard to find an accurate comparison. The sound is thin and pretty weak, but they do have some pretty good songs. The price listed above sickens me to the stomach, I like my CDR just fine thanks! BTW, I can't get over how people cannot find a comparison for Crystal Ball. Isn't Victory blaringly obvious as a comparison? Sorry, I know it was back in 2002 the question was asked, but still

From: nazareth Date: October 8, 2004 at 13:53

Pre-order Blue Tears & Schoolboy Crush Hello people, We have added a link on our website were you can finally pre-order copies of both Blue Tears’ Mad, Bad & Dangerous and Schoolboy Crush’s Good Time, Bad Boys. Both albums are expected to be released mid next month and if everything goes well even sooner. I’m sure fans will love this material as I think it is the best Hard Rock material to come out in over 15 years!!! If you support us now, there will be a lot more great hard rock to come!!

From: forza-orietto Date: October 28, 2005 at 19:05
that's the one i'm after since long time but seems impossible to get...anyway i'm pretty sure that got balls !

From: Rhodeislandrock Date: January 2, 2006 at 14:02
Picked this up last week for around $55. Not bad, some good tunes but it's basic Hard Rock. Heard it done before, heard it done better.

From: kipvanpearcy Date: April 20, 2008 at 11:44
55£ for this CD is way too much. I can't say it's bad but they sound like these local bands with little talent that you go see in club because they're friends of a friend and there's good beer anyway. Don't waste your money on this one, very bland hard rock, and the ballad is one of the most uninteresting songs ever.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: October 21, 2010 at 21:13
Enjoyable album...let's use the word basic Hard Rock as somebody stated above...maybe the ony issue is the production, quite average and the vocalist has some weak moments but still sings the songs decently & makes them sound appealing...best tracks for me:"Get Back Home" ,it rocks,"Only In Dreams" AORish,"Dream Deceiver" a highlight,"Good As It Gets" ,a highlight too,"Say You Will,Say You Might" excellent & "Wild And Free" rocks,a very good track...have a listen,85/100.
