Punky glam. Imagine Love/Hate and the Ramones having a candlelit dinner and ordering the Faster Pussycat flambe. "Hey Daddy Have You Ever Been Arrested?" is the only song that I can honestly recommend. Later known as Flesh + Blood (not to be confused with the Danny Vaughn/Al Pitrelli/Mark Mangold one-off).

This one sucked. I saw the band photo, thought it would be glam/sleaze, and it was all this serious, whiney crap. The CD was actually in the trash, but I pulled it out and ebayed it. For some reason, someone paid me $42 for it!

dear listeners this is a totally addictive album,anyone who has heard this should be impressed, i brought this for the same reason as hg,but unlike him what i discovered was that here was an album that i couldnt even classify into any particular category.great stuff, graet listening, and exteremely difficult to find.

Please ignore the uneducated comments of Koogles & HG above, as they obviously have absolutely no idea regarding quality music. This is a truly magnificent piece of work ( the later released version under the band name of 'Flesh And Blood' called 'Dead White and Blue' is even better ). This album will grow and grow on you. The man Julian Raymond is a genius, no arguments necessary lamebrains.

A Fantastic album, with thought provoking lyrics and great melody. When you compare this album to some of the garbage out today you wonder about the ficlkeness of the record buying public. I will never know how they weren't bigger as they deserved to be stars

I picked this tape up cuz I liked the cover. I bought it cuz I giggled reading the song list. This was one of my favorite tapes for that period in my life. Anyone know anything about the christmas suicide music label that put out the tape?

I've bid on a cd on ebay called Dead White and Blue: Heads (1991)which the seller claims is what Dear Mr President later evolved into. Can anyone confirm this?

wow. the internet delivers!! never thought i'd find this release ever again!!!! i bought this cassette back in the day at tower records in el toro, california and saw them perform at the coach house, where my friend and i sung along to every lyric. i thought they were gonna be huge.

hi, ok this is kind of strange, for some reason today i punched Dear Mr. President into google and found this site. I was the drummer in DMP and loved it, also found it interesting that there are people out there who still enjoy our music. We did finish a second record that was never released by Atlantic, it had some great songs on it.If any of you are interested, i will burn a copy and send it to you(may not be the best quality as it was burned from a cassette)cgeorge8975@msn.com

Amazing CD. "Reality" has some great lyrics as well. I still have this one on cassette and it is one the favorites.

I heard the song "Hey Daddy Have You Ever Been Arrested?" on a Shreveport radio station in 1988 on one of those "make it or break it" segments where you call up and voice your opinion of the song. I remember snickering at the lyrics: (paraphrase) "you tell me not to make love to a girl until I fall in love/but Dad when she took her clothes off I swear I was in love.”

I'm a bit surprised to see this release on this site but it's a good surprise. Bought the tape thinking it would be a totally different music and passed the "deception" I totally loved it. Singer is of the kind I like, not a great technician but a very personal "color" that gives sense to the music and lyrics. I don't know if they encountered reasonable success in the US but I'm almost sure we are very very few to have it in France.

This is a blast from the past... and is definately not for all. They sound so much like a band I just can't pinpoint... maybe a little like The Front, or other very un-melodic and to me, unpleasing sounding bands. Just can't think of it, but this is not really hard rock or AOR or anything. I guess a poor version of U2 or something. Hard to describe, but I sold it ages ago and grinned.

Love this album, especially the tracks 'Flesh and Blood' and 'What's The World Coming To'. A band very hard to pigeonhole (which makes a nice change) and definately not for everyone, but some of the more open minded amongst us will definately get something from this. The band have a great sound to them, which is brought to the fore by the production skills of Foreigner's Mick Jones.later re-issued in slightly edited form as 'Dead White & Blue' when the band changed their name to Flesh & Blood.

totally agree with geoff and andi.strange record ,strange singer,strange music.sometimes they looks like a poor version of u 2.absoluty not for me i hate this album.
