I would go for Rock Candy slightly over Concrete Jungle. Rock Candy sucker for a pretty face is a gem every song is catchy and strong where Concrete Jungle about 800f the songs are killer. Jay from Australia.

I really like this album, but it comes NOWHERE close to being as good as Rockcandy. In my opinion, Rockcandy is the best band to NEVER have been released on cd, along with Reckless- No Frills.

Another one of those 'Is it worth the hype of money' cds. And in my estimation it's worth every damn penny!!! A superb Indie that obviously got lost in the shuffle back in the day! This one rocks...and has some damn fine songs to boot!! It's a pity locating one is about as easy as finding a needle in a haystack....but it'll be worth it when you do find one!! Easily a 9/10

I'm sorry, but NO CD is worth $200-300 or more! I'm sure this is a Great CD, but there are hundreds of great CD's out there for a reasonable cost. More power to the seller who is getting someone to pay an insane cost. Shame on the buyer(s) who are paying this amount and driving up the cost.

I agree with JLProcks, this cd is worth every penny you might pay for it. unlike some of the other biggies. I disagree with 'Mike', for saying shame on the buyer who drives up the cost. have you heard this cd? it blows away the 'hundreds' of great cd's you mentioned. get it and listen to it, at least twice, then get back to this post! If I had to pick 3 cd's that were worth every penny it's going for this would be one of the 3! Great production, as good as the big label cd's. Well worth the sear

To MButt-I would love to give this a listen and would pay for a cassette copy of this and would re-do my review as needed. Could you provide me with a copy? Part of my reason for saying it can't be worth it is that the record companies back in the mid to late 80's were signing anyone and everyone who played glam, rock, metal, etc. and had long hair. How did they miss this band then?(just not the right connections? Is this in Wildside, Vain, Roxxi,XYZ(Hungry),territory?Let me know in the copy.THX

Ok after reading all the positive reviews about this cd, it's nice to be on the other side for once. This cd and a Wild Boyz cd was one of my finds in a used cd bin for $4.00 for both of them. Sorry to hear you didn't dig the cd, Dean, and I am also sorry to tell you that we never DID appear in 'Hit Parader' (as far as I know)... We did, however, put full page ads in both 16 and METAL EDGE magazines, and we got reviewed 3 times in issues of KERRANG. It was THOSE reviews that took us up to #3 on the import charts in the UK. There was an extreme lack of foresight on someone's part for not promoting these guys. I don't like to see people disagree on this page.BETWEEN THE LINES is track number NINE! Many people have told me that it is their favorite (or second favorite to NOBODY MOVES) song on the cd. I must admit that 4 of my fave 6 songs on the album are in tracks 1 thru 5, but I also have to agree with Derek Oliver from KERRANG! who said this when he reviewed the cd in Jan. of '89: 'There are 12 collosal cuts on this album...' Looking back after all of these years- - I'm still proud... PEACE!

SlinkySteel, borrowed your info. for the credits- thanks. Definately an album these guys can be proud of. Finally got my original today and loved it as expected. First heard about these guys from MButt about 3.5 years ago. I spent day and night in vain searching for them (for him). A buddy sent me a tape later and then I had to have them. I would have paid a certain Ebay seller $400.00 but he didn't want to wait . Luckilly, 'Bino' saved the day and I'm always glad to support a band directly.

Fortunately, I didn't pay $400 because it gave me a chance to meet Marc who is one hell of a nice guy. Plus I got a T-Shirt, 2 unreleased demos, and a couple of posters for way less. Also, it went to a former band member which is always a plus to me. I like helping a band directly rather than paying a label or a seller. Hopefully there will be some reissues in the near future.

A word about the mentioned self titled CJ album : It's a different German band that happens to have the same name . . . I saw it on some German sites and it costs about $20 (if anyone cares). The American CJ released only ONE album (a really great one . . .) and a couple of demos as Tim mentioned before.

Not too cool, Dean...but kind of what I would expect from you...based on your earlier comments. I can't believe you haven't put the original up on eBay ALREADY. What reason did you have to hold onto something you viewed as being mediocre (that so many other people like and are after) for at least 7 months since that post? Marc- There is no possible way you could be more misunderstood about my offer. Like Whiplash stated-it was to TRADE a cdr of an out of print band for another cdr. If your cd was readily available there would be no need but how are any new people going to hear your music if the average price of the cd is $200.00? If you are able to get the rights of your music it would actually be very easy to have someone like Metal Mayhem or even yourself to put it out again. cont..

My own band recently released a cd and put it out ourselves - for 200 cds the price was $450.00. And it got cheaper the more we ordered. 900f the people on this site trade cdrs because it is the only way to hear a lot of rare music from that time period. After we hear it I'd say well over 500f us will go out of way and usually spend big bucks to obtain the original. Most of us are collectors and will not be satisfied by just having a cdr- it is temporary until we can get the real thing.cont.

As the former drummer of Concrete jungle {version 2----1990 to 1994} I have an attachment to this cd. Chris Young and I tried to reform the band and keep it going a little but we never found the right people that had the chemistry of the original band. This cd totally rocks.....the vocals are really good. I particularly like the cover song--Great Balls of Fire. Ithink of of the album's highlights is the ballad....How can Love just Fade away.' Awesome ballad. This album should've been big. With production by Max Norman, you would think so. I rate this a 10. Any fan of rock and roll should give this a listen. To all the rockers out there, keep the spirit alive. Rock on!

Yeah, yeah!!! (You got THAT right!)- - JC Ryan's singing on this album was TOP notch, aorquest, and the lyrics he wrote for 'How can love just fade away?' are (simply put) not your 'average' ballad lyrics (as SlinkySteel pointed out in an earlier post). It was a great experience recording this album (and the demo we did afterwards) because it was amazing to see him bang out the vocal tracks dead ON... many of them in one take! Soul, power and professionalism.

If anyone is interested- there are now three eBay items regarding Concrete Jungle being auctioned. One of them is another vinyl Lp (which don't normally go for ANYTHING like the disks; as we printed so many more of the albums), and one of the other things is an issue of 'KERRANG!' with the story that sent us to our '15 minutes of fame'... It's the issue that I continually refer to in interviews, the most recent of which appeared on a site that says my new band is 'the denition of Jersey rock'-

THE SONG WRITING, PRODUCTION, AND MUSICIANSHIP ARE ALL TOP NOTCH. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE INSERTS COULD OF BEEN POLISHED UP A BIT. KINDA HARD TO READ.

This CD comes out firing - I love the first two tracks. Sensational peices of commercial hard rock, and the title track is a killer too. 'How can love just fade away' is a sensational song, and a really sad ballad to be honest. Overall, this is just a good solid and cracking hard rock disc. Agree with many who say the first half is MUCH better than the second half.

This coveted collector's piece rocks hard enough to crack concrete! The hair-metal collecting scene is often like a weed-infested jungle, forcing you to claw through a lot of thorny junk to find the beautiful gems, but when you find a gem like this one, it makes all those 'thorns' worthwhile. This one earns its high price with rippin' guitars, hot hooks, cool choruses, and great vox. Yes, the 1st half is better than the 2nd, but still, this one'll put some serious wear & tear on your stereo.

Wow!That's really the triumph of the generic.Very average,sincerely don't hear any great song or what else here.Just a decent hair metal release overrated at the extreme as often happens...

The problem of this album or band was the singer (J.C. Ryan)..the guy could sing in some songs quite decently but in general lines is a very average and poor singer (sorry to say that but mainly is the true)... ...'Right On The Line Of Love' good song with good choruses,'Nobody Moves' fine,'Wear & Tear' a highlight,kind of,'Great Balls Of Fire' acceptable Jerry Lee Lewis cover song,'Ladies Of The Night' highlight too,'Cuts Like A Knife'(not 2 be by Bryan Adams' song,this ain't a cover!)is a song & 'Head Over Fist' is the best one at least 4 me...78/100...price too expensive....not well worth actually...as i always say,respecting people's opinion...78/100...

I owned this on cassette back when it first came out. How this band never got signed is beyond me. Great stuff here. Unfortunately I lost all my cassettes when my storage unit got flooded. now back to the music.... The singer kinda reminds me of a better Vince Neil and this just has GREAT production. MAX NORMAN! How did that happen and how did it not catch the major's eye. Get it! You'll love it!
