One of the best releases of the 90ies. Paul Laine is easily a better singer than T.Poley. We're talking light-years.... The album is solid all the way through, not a bad song. The best of the bunch even though are: I don't need you, Goin' goin' gone, Goin' all the way, The girl ain't built to sleep alone.... If you don't have this album, BUY IT!!! Forget about the earlier weaker releases, this one's for real.

I'll agree with Niklas and also state that this is the best of Danger Danger's albums by a distance. The line up is the strongest and Paul sings his heart out.Andy Timmons is indeed a God and needs to be heard to be believed.The man's solo's defy description.

WHAT? Still a cool album, but Paul Laine isn't CLOSE to the singer that Ted Poley is! I like him, but Ted is the man! I think most D2 fans would prefer the original lineup, given the choice.

Bull!!! Paul Laine has a much better voice than Ted. The original band with Paul Laine on vocals would have been a much bigger success than Danger Danger with Ted was. Paul's got a much better vocal range. Check out Paul Laine's solo cd's Stick It In Your Ear and Can't Get Enough. They totally rock!!!

I honestly wish I could like this album better than the first 2 as some of you do BUT imo they dont even come close...the hooks imo ARE NOWHERE CLOSE to the first 2 and give me Ted Poley any day...better/worse voice than Paul HE IS D2...and they arent the same without him...not a bad band at all but nowhere near the first 2...quote the WidoMakr....never more

I prefer Paul to Ted. And I think this album is good, but it happens the same as with the last Harem Scarem, they're a little bit into pop or grungy melodies in some songs, but only in a few (thanks!).

This is an album that experiments with sound, but never loses focus and it never sounds like a track shouldn't be there. To compare would be unfair, but for an example of the sound, take Paul Laine's 'Stick It In Your Ear' record and add a little Motley Crue 'Generation Swine' and a little of Danger Danger's debut album.

Quite simply an exceptional Hard Rock Release. If there were any doubts about D2 after Ted went, this dismisses them. Killer clean sounding Hard rock.....excellent songs.....some real inspirational stuff hear after you've broken up with the wench. crank it and you can't go wrong.

Good cd overall, but when you listen to it all the way through the songs don't really flow. It's obvious which of the songs were written during the band's heyday and which ones were written for this release. The newer songs are mostly true to the band's original sound, but have a slightly more modern edge to them. The Paul Laine written songs don't really fit in with the rest of the tracks. They're pretty good on their own though. That said, this is an enjoyable release. A worthy addition to any

A good release that suffers from the fact that the four best songs are all re-recording from the then unreleased 'Cockroach' album. Of the actual new songs, the standout is the modern rock stylings of 'Jaded'. 7/10

Killer hard rock. This and 'Cockroach' are the best since the debut, but IMO you can't really go too far wrong with any of their albums (apart from '...Gildersleeves' which is weak). I disagree with some comments above and think this really flows as an album, with Laine particularly in great form. The modern flavourings of 'Jaded' are excellent, as is 'Going All the Way' and 'Afraid of Love'. Only 'Sick Little Twisted Mind' lets the side down a little, but otherwise this is top quality. 8.5/10.

I like this album!!! Paul is much more talented, but Ted still has D2 FEELING in his voice! Paul's first solo album is one of the best anthem albums of all time! D2 is still best with Ted!

Do this for me: Listen to Bon Jovi S.W.W. then J.B.J. Destination Anwhere back-to-back. Here's the catch, listen while looking in the mirror. See the big smile on your face while listening to S.W.W.? Now see the pitiful scowl on your face while listening to Destination Anywhere? Okay, do the ame thing with D2's S/T CD and Four The Hard Way. Same smile, same scowl. The best thing about this CD is the new jewel case it's housed in. My copy hit the pavement at 65 MPH.

Generater. I just did as you said and I had the opposite effect. I cringed at the lyrics of the S/T record and absolutely adore the anthems contained herein. I think D2s songwriting got much better as they progessed. As evidenced by the inclusion of some Cockroach tunes on this particular record. This is the D2 I like, not not songs songs like 'Bang Bang'.

Hey gener8tr, no offence mate but I must fully disagree too. And yeah, I'm 25 but an outstanding CD is an oustanding CD - regardless of the age of the listener. Surely you must love the 4 'Cockroach' tracks, especially 'Goin' goin' gone' and 'Afraid of love'? Elsewhere, 'Captain bring me down' is stunning, 'Goin' all the way' is debut-esque and excellent, the last two are killer hard rockers and basically this is a superb CD by a superb band. Very highly recommended!!!

Hey generator. I'm a 35 year old who appreciated what D2 did back in the day but there was nothing that stood out to me but juvenile lyrics about pussy. It's too bad because 'Screw It!' had some serious gems like 'Don't Blame It On Love'. But for every 'DBIOL', there was a dreadful 'Slipped Her The Big One' or 'Everybody Wants Some' that are just silly. I think they really hit their stride on 'Cockroach' and just got better in the songwriting department as they progressed.

I made the reference about Bon Jovi's Destination Anywhere because this CD sounds exactly the same to me. A Spade is a Spade no matter what color you choose to call it. Hey, we all have our own opinion and our own musical tastes, but this is NOT Danger Danger (IMO). Just as Ringo, Paul, Fred and Arnold are NOT the Beatles! Why do you think Ted is now back with the band? My guess is Cpt. Bring Me Down won't be on the set-list. Clay Aiken doesn't sing about Pussy... Give him a try.

Hey...to each his own. You like your hard rock by the numbers. I prefer something a little more adventurous. The differences between VH 'Everybody Wants Some' and D2's same titled track is that VH is a little more subtle and tongue in cheek and D2 smacks you upside the head with theirs. I still think that D2 got a lot better in the songwriting department as they progressed. Please don't try to make a comparison between D2 and the Beatles. It makes you look silly.

After reading back through the discussions, I have to agree with John 100%...no disrespect, gener8tr. And to contradict your above age guessing, I am a 40 year old rocker. I like both singers - each has their own style and delivery...can't say I prefer one over the other. But I do like the newer material ala this cd and Cockroach. As John stated, the s/t cd is more juvenile...also the more recent material has an updated sound. As we all know, opinions vary...but we all like to ROCK!

Hey gener8ter, no offence mate but have you honestly played this and Jon BJ's 'Destination anywhere' recently? I can not think of two more different rock albums. This is 'heavy', ballsy, very melodic and if there is any blatant commercial hard rock anthems like 'Goin' all the way', 'Goin' goin' gone', 'Afraid of love', 'Jaded' on the ultra-mellow mess that is 'Destination Anywhere', I completely missed them. One album is Springsteen-esque ballads, the other a towering melodic hard rock inferno.

My untainted thoughts- 'Still Kickin' is a great re-introduction to the D2 we know and love- killer hard rock, as is 'Sick Little Twisted Mind'. 'Jaded' is a beautiful modern melodic rock track, 'Captain Bring Me Down' is an album highlight and spectacular ballad, 'Goin' All The Way' is simple melodic hard rock bliss, 'Goin' Goin' Gone' and 'Afraid Of Love' are 2 of the best song ever- simply spectacular, and 'Heartbreak Suicide' and especially 'I Don't Need You' are killer hard rockers.

In the mid 90's slump in hard rock music, this was like a diamond in the rough! Classic hard rock that takes us back a decade where hair metal ruled the radio! Every tack here is memorable and all have a huge singalong chorus! If Jaded isn't the best track Danger Danger have done, i'll go out and buy a Britney Spears cd! A few of these songs were written for the infamous third Danger Danger album with Ted Poley that never saw the light of day, until recently with Cockroach! 10/10....

I love this album as much as the "Return of TGG), both are very solid rock albums. Somehow Paul's vocals give D2 a more mature sound than Ted Poley's (although he is a great singer in his own right)and makes them easier to listen to.

Man, I thought this one was even better than Dawn. Andy Timmons showed back up on this one and I think it made a helluva difference. Yeah, it's not the same DD that most people fell in love with but it's still an excellent release by a group of talented musicians.

This cd kicks major ass!!! It is definitely ass good as the debut and "Screw It". Hell, four of the songs are from what was to be the follow-up album and it was written with Poley still in the band for all those who care to debate over who is better in the band, him or Laine. I think they are both great. I played it for my wife, who loves Bon Jovi, and she freaked! If you like great melodic rock/aor done right, then this is for you. Try it, you won't be sorry!!!

This is one f the best album out by any group ever !!! There is not one bad song on it !!! Killer guitar work and Laine is exceptional on vocals. A must have for any true melodic rock fan !!

The Ted Poley vs. Paul Laine debate divides D2 fans, but frankly, I love the heavy rock edge they adopted when Laine took over. When this first came out, I nearly split my head in two grinning from ear to ear when I heard the beefy guitars & tougher vibe. This is fantastic stuff, a 5-star masterpiece. The rest of you can all continue arguing about Ted vs. Paul till the cows come home. As for me, I'll be over here cranking this CD up for about the 1000th time and still loving every second of it.

Paul Laine Is better singer than Ted Poley but Ted Poley discs with Danger Danger sounds better than Laine cd's. The best song for this album is Goin Goin Gone.Paul Laine Solo Work Stick It In Your Ear is one of my top ten albums of all time

Well, it's certainly Danger Danger but a bit more dark (and modern ) For some reason I like the majority of it though...I'm not sure if I should feel bad about myself for liking anything modern so I have to tell myself that it's more D2 than modern.

After reading the comments about this one saying it's the best Danger Danger album I was compelled to get this. I thought nothing could top the first album and I'm pleased to say I was right. Firstly Danger Danger with Paul Laine just doesn't sound like Danger Danger. Secondly the only songs that sound like Danger Danger are the ones that were on Cockroach "Afraid of Love", "Still Kickin'" etc. The others are good but sound like a totally new band. It's insteresting how Kasey Smith, Andy Timmons and Tony "Bruno" Rey came back to do work on this album but it still doesn't sound like Danger Danger to me. I thought "Jaded" sounded a bit Blink 182ish to me. The first album remains the best and nothing will change that. Hopefully their new release with Ted called Revolve will do the band justice.

Four songs from Cockroach were remixed and included here, and contain Andy Timmons. But all other tracks are with TONY REY on guitars. He also toured with the band. I like both Paul's songs and Ravel's on this album, 10 great songs. A very very fine D2/Laine disc.

here's my $.02. Who's better? Paul or Ted? To tell you the truth I don't really care. Mickey Mouse could sing Danger Danger songs and as long as it "sounds" good that's all that matters. Paul and Ted each have their own singing qualities. If I want to hear some "harder" rock I'll put in Paul Laine with D2. If I want to hear some "pop metal" I'll pop in Ted's D2. This is like asking better singer in Van Halen?? God forbid you ask THAT question. World war III will start. Just listen to who you want to. They BOTH have songs I like so I'm happy. Just my opinion.
