| With the addition of Neil Peart, this is the first real Rush album. The primal screech of Geddy Lee is still a bit annoying at times, but, with this release, Rush are definitely on their way with lunches packed.

| 3 albums deep and still pumping them out.There are some real killer tunes on this one.My fav's are Best I can,By-Tor.

| Rush already made their musical point with the debut lp "Rush". "Fly By Night" is no different musically. Lee & Lifeson wrote the music. Peart added his unique style on drums. But the real upgrade was in the production. With Mercury allowing more money, and tight as a wet knot from extensive touring, the band go in the studio to write & record "FBN". This is where the Rush 'sound' began. "Rush" is where the music 'magic' was forged! A total package elevation on their sophomore offering.

| The magic of the prog masters is evident on 'Fly By Night'. The title track, "By-Tor And The Snow Dog", "Anthem" and "Best I Can" are water markers of what is to come. Like Brian said, extremely tight from the touring and more money being pumped into the Rush machine, 'Fly By Night' became the classic that it is. First release for Neil Peart, and the difference in sound is evident. Great stuff.
