JLT's finest moment in my opinion, and one of the top releases of it's type released in the eighties. Where to start as every track oozes class. 'Losing You'(reminiscent of the late great SPYS),the class ballad 'Prelude/Endlessly'. Add to that a class production job and a backing band to die for and you have one mighty release. Hard to get these days, as i believe it was only avaliable on cd as a jap import.

From: aorjocke Date: May 12, 2004 at 11:09
I totally agree with you Jez, this has class all over it! One of my favourite aor albums! Songs like 'Losing You', 'Endlessly' and 'On The Run' is for me the best tracks, but there ain't any bad songs on this..trust me! I suppose the most of you already heard this one, but for you who doesen't, I can really recommend this if you like straight AOR/Melodicrock with clean production and a singer who has it all...

From: Rycheage Date: May 30, 2004 at 13:48
'Rescue You' is an album that sits comfortably among the members of the Foreigner fan club. If you've yet to discover this closet classic then shame on you. JLT has never sounded better.

From: Rene Date: June 11, 2004 at 19:20
Very good album of one of my all time favorite singers. Good songs. Pure HARD AOR.

From: bernardito Date: August 19, 2004 at 22:12

From: Christine Date: August 23, 2004 at 4:29
This was just re-issued on Wounded Bird. This always seems to happen AFTER I've paid top dollar for an original! But I can't complain - it was worth it!

From: jessica96fish Date: October 8, 2004 at 9:10
but we have it with the obi strip.this should have been rainbows album after bent out of shape.if you like rainbow with jlt singing.then this is for you.top class from start to finnish.buy!!!!!

Available at www.woundedbird.com now.

Typically great JLT vocals but for me the keyboards are far to dominant & guitar seems to take a back seat. I far prefer his later solo outings such as Slam. Still it is JLT so I aint gonna let the keyboards spoil this fine slab of rock music for me!

From: Chris Date: January 31, 2005 at 11:04
Excellent Stuff From This Great Voice.Typically 80's But One Of The Best.Great Songs,Strong Melodies And POWERFULL Vocals. With No Doubt JLTurner's Best Album....Don't Miss It....

From: razor2467 Date: February 22, 2005 at 23:23
I just got this cd, what a disappointment!!!!!!! Talk about some ANNOYING keyboards, and cheesy 1980's production. I hope the rest of his solo cds dont sound like this. I much prefer his work in Rainbow, Deep Purple & Yngwies band better.

From: perry.k Date: February 26, 2005 at 13:36
Cheesy 80s production?????!!!??? You gotta be a PANTERA/MACHINE HEAD fan,no doubt(bad 4 you). This baby sounds as it should do and all the tunes are SUPERB!!TOP CLASS HARDROCK/AOR with the 80s feeling we all love and miss nowdays SO MUCH!!!(9/10).

From: Nanteau Date: March 6, 2005 at 14:13
Actually a quite stunning album for the 80s. The production & songs have a very cool 80s-atmospheric structure. Raised my attention through the cool 'Blue DeVille' movie. I think nowadays a lot of people have other standarts of how to make an album; I just say it's special to reflect that time. 'Losing you' is the best example of this

From: Nanteau Date: March 6, 2005 at 14:16
Well, you can't say 'all the tunes are superb'. You have to see that album as an artwork of that time I suggest !!

From: Geoff Date: September 8, 2005 at 21:58
Wow, this is actually pretty cool. The first 5 tracks are nice key filled AOR numbers, then there are quite a few fillers amongst the rest of the album, but 'On the run' gives the second half some purpose. Overall, this is a pretty good album. Not great, but damn good enough if you like key-filled AOR!!!

From: PAUL Date: October 25, 2005 at 12:16
Geoff - not great? This is an essential album and only 'bent out of shape' can touch it for me. 'prelude/endlessly' is a standard-track in my all compilations with best AOR songs, best JLT's performance by far.

From: Heavy.AOR Date: October 8, 2006 at 17:18
BRILLIANT 10/10.This album and Sundstorm is for me best from JLT.Best song 'Endlessly'.

From: Swazi Date: October 16, 2007 at 14:46
Not much to add to the previous comments. This is an essential hard AOR release. Nuff said !!

From: darobinson Date: October 25, 2007 at 20:11
This disc is amazing!!! A must have for all AOR/Melodic rock fans. Usual Suspects is also a very good disc for his later tunes.

From: sebastian08 Date: September 25, 2008 at 6:31
Good disc. 'Endlessly', 'On The Run' and 'Young Hearts' very beautiful songs...

From: hair metal again Date: July 22, 2009 at 2:14

From: rick kerch vzla Date: August 5, 2009 at 21:05
Love this album in its all!!!...I've always said that Joe along with Glenn Hughes is one of the best Rock singers that Mother Earth has given us!!!."Losing You","Endlessly"(excellent AOR),"The Race Is On" (hard),"Rescue You" (wonderful)among others are top songs with that particular 80's vibe that makes it enjoyable a 100%.Anyway buy this album and get to know how this great musician started his solo career...95/100

From: Flall Date: April 8, 2010 at 19:31
BRILLIANT album. One of my favourites. "Soul Searcher" is one of the greatest songs ever put on vinyl.

From: The SAFIRE Drummer Date: October 27, 2010 at 7:46
I brought this album because I love Joe Lynn Turner and was surprised how great this album was. It takes you on a journey from start to finish and is highly recommended.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: March 8, 2011 at 18:01
Magnificent is the word that comes to my mind after listening to this debut solo album by the very skilled vocalist Mr Joe Lynn Turner,a warrior of a thousand fights!!!...highly recommended AOR album that came out at the boom of this genre(1985)..."On The Run" is my personal favorite but also there are some other killer tracks such as "Losing You","Young Hearts","Endlessly"(nice),"Feel The Fire" & "Soul Searcher"(rocks) & "The Race Is On"...as you can read,a very interesting and pleasant album...if you like the real sound of AOR,get this a.s.a.p.!!!.96/100

From: rick kerch vzla Date: March 8, 2011 at 18:03

From: ghettonation73 Date: March 16, 2015 at 19:53
Ah, yes, Joe Lynn Turner, the rent-a-vocalist.

From: 123charpenay Date: October 23, 2015 at 11:03
exceptional debut album for the singer of deep purple.this record breathe the class start to end.rainbow s influences are sometimes present.only killer songs on this marvellous record absoluty no fillers.no doubt his best record in solo.really a must have for all melodic rocks fans of this planet.unfortunatelly the japan import have no bonus tracks.

From: titothetitan Date: November 20, 2020 at 19:58
Just an ok album, nothing more. I'll give it a few more spins because there's isn't any song that cought my attention that much. I'm not a big fan of Turner early years, not even with Malmsteen (Odissey). I thinhk the album he has released with Sunstorm are better.

From: Thomas/Coastline Date: March 13, 2021 at 19:05
Ex. Fandango and Rainbow singer Joe Lynn Turner released his first solo album ”Rescue You” in 1985. It was produced by Roy Thomas Baker and recorded by a line up of well known musicians like Al Greenwood (Foreigner, Spys) on keyboards, Chuck Burgi (Balance, Rainbow) on drums and guitarist Bobby Messano, formerly of Starz, Tycoon and Franke & The Knockouts. Turner co-wrote most of the songs with Greenwood and the Foreigner connection is evident throughout the whole album, especially prominent in opening trio: “Losing You”, “Young Hearts” and “Endlessly”. Side two of the album is lifted by some more guitar based and rocking tunes in form of "On The Run" and the Rainbow-reminiscent "The Race Is On". So soundwise it’s a typical mid 80’s AOR/Melodic Rock recording with many great songs, lots of keyboards and Turner’s outstanding vocals on top of it all. Similarities in the music can be drawn to other classics from the same time of period like Aviator – “S/T” and Michael Bolton’s “Everybody’

Class 80s AOR..... but it had to be..look at the band?? Bobby Messano..(Starz and Frankie & The Knockouts) Chuck Burgi (Balance) Al Greenwood (Spys & Foreigner) Game Over!
