Good solid CD. I really like it. Top 100 in the collection. Quality music yall.

From: Deuce Date: April 13, 2001 at 19:40
I am glad that there are a few bands that I like and still play in smaller venues. They probably deserve world-wide fame, but this permits a few hundred patrons the benefits of a class A song writing/perfomance display. If in a perfect world, Blaze would be ever-so-big as BBKing, SRV, Clapton, Page, GBenson, Satch, Via, Rhodes or Malmstein. I have been around music/gigs for 20 years, and if these guys offered me a job with them...!

From: T-BONE Date: August 10, 2001 at 15:50
Very strong CD! A Must have for any music collector.

From: SANAT Date: September 9, 2001 at 12:36
Masterpiece of all of heavy metal. I like it. it's totally awesome.

From: Pedro Date: October 25, 2001 at 10:03
Fucking brilliant album. There is no other band like them who send chills up my spine.

From: Dragonfly Date: December 14, 2001 at 19:29
Another killer release. Outstanding song writing and playing. If you don't have any of their releases you are missing out on a one of a kind band. Way better than any of the bands that are around now.

From: koogles Date: January 3, 2002 at 19:51
A great album that you can you find easily and inexpensively. Solid in all departments, with highlights being 'Body Double', 'See You Someday' and a version of Badfinger's 'No Matter What' that actually improves on the original!

From: Tenko Date: January 22, 2002 at 23:39
This album is one of the greatest one I've ever listened! I've been crashed on listening Hard Rock since 1984 and still now 'Poetic Justice' is my best top 5 album in my 700 CD's collections! I really want the members of LILLIAN AXE to keep hanging on and continue to make a lot of fantastic albums. Come back to Japan and play again!!!

From: dennis Date: March 24, 2002 at 14:42

From: Roxas Date: April 5, 2002 at 5:14
One of the best cd's i own, truley outstanding!

From: Tony Date: April 9, 2002 at 11:08
Absolutely in the top 10 melodic hard rock albums of all time. More popular artist should WISH they could write songs as good as Steve Blaze!! One of the best guitarists ever and I hope you all get to meet him because he is one of the most friendly, gracious, appreciative of his fans musician I have ver met. One of the good guys in rock. In 2002 the riff to 'True Believer' still knocks me out!!

From: jason Date: May 21, 2002 at 19:38
This is Lillian's best! The only thing about this album that bumbed me out was the fact that Gene barnett is on it. You see, I like Gene and I think he is a great drummer. The thing about it is, once I found out he left Dirty Looks, I was disapointed. Oh well, This is still Lillian's best and not because of Gene, but because it just is.

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: June 14, 2002 at 19:13
Also, after this album Gene was no longer with Lillian Axe. Does anyone know why? I know that right now he is a drum teacher and has his own website, but I never found out why he left L. Axe?

From: ted Date: July 26, 2002 at 11:04
Buen tercer trabajo de Ron Taylor &company ,pero por momentos adolece de la fuerza de sus 2 predecesores ,pero hay canciones de gran calidad.Es un cd q ha ganado con el tiempo

From: 9 CHAMPIONS A 1 Date: July 29, 2002 at 11:16
Igualmente bueno como el anterior, quizas un poco conservadores con respecto al anterior, pero tiene temas realmente buenos.VALE LA PENA.

From: Date: December 24, 2002 at 1:30
I felt disappointed when i bought this cd 'cause Love & War is very, very much better than this.It contains a few good songs but the musical quality stands in an only acceptable level in comparison with Love & War and Psychoschizofrenia.Only a correct hard rock CD.For contact:westofsunset@hotmail.com

Lillian Axe proves that is a really huge band, maybe not chartwise or in terms of radio airplay but in our hearts. Can you find me any song from this album that is slightly worse than the other? Lillian Axe is a melodic hard rock band that has it's own style, it's own vibe. Ron Taylor has a unique voice, the riffs on this album is 100 0llian Axe, the choruses, the bridges, everything works fantastic under an extraordinary chemistry. Words are very unnecessary...

From: West Of Sunset Date: January 4, 2003 at 5:01
I respect your point of view manos, but songs like Body Double or No Matter What has not the quality i hoped from this band, i have to say that this cd has good songs like Innocence or Mercy, but this one stands in a lower level in comparison with Love + War and Psycho CD's this one only is not as god as i expected. The best songs are in Love and War and the best crafted cd is Psycho, from this Lillian is only a rock band and with the others is a Super band. 6/10 Contact:westofsunset@hotmail.com

From: tomcat Date: June 11, 2003 at 23:25
some tunes on this album are simply amazing: 'true believer' ,'see you someday' . nothing can beat songs like this batcave777@hotmail.com

From: jose Date: October 9, 2003 at 22:14
definively, after 'Love+war', it's Lillian Axe's consagration. Melodies, brilliant guitars, delightful songs and a special charisma in the sound of Blaze's guitar which makes him one of the greatest (but unknown for the majority) guitar heroes from the last 20 years. Imprescindible for any metal fan.

From: Ric Date: January 18, 2004 at 22:04
Great C.D when I had it!!!!I miss it and trust me --it's worth getting again!Topnotch with the great 80's sounding guitars!

From: Big Papa K Date: June 13, 2004 at 2:43
The easiest Lillian Axe cd to buy, might be their weakest effort. This had some promotion with their cover of 'No Matter What', but that was a terrible choice as a single. 'True Believer' had hit written all over it. Oh well, everyone elses loss is our gain. 7/10

From: Date: August 26, 2004 at 12:23
What?? Weakest effort? No Matter What a BAD single?? You're obviously delerious. This is their BEST album. No Matter What is the most commercial song on it. It came out in 1992 so it had no chance. INNOCENCE is my favorite hard rock tune of all time. The opening guitar riffs blow me away every time. The mix of acoustics in the middle and the end make it unique. 10+/10 Get this album if you don't already have it people!

From: Geoff Date: August 26, 2004 at 20:23
I know alot of people appreciate this CD, as do I because I love all Lillian Axe CDs, but why do I appear to be the only one to love the track 'Dyin' to live'? As far as I'm concerned, it's my favourite Lillian Axe song but I never see anyone else mention it. Damn these alien antennas on my head! Otherwise, this is another excellent, solid melodic hard rock CD. 'Body double', 'No matter what' and 'Living in the grey' are other faves of mine.

From: Kip Date: August 29, 2004 at 3:21
Dyin' To Live is their second best song that combines acoustics and electric riffs. Mercy is their best. Innocence, Body Double, True Believer, and No Matter What round out the 7 awesome rock tunes and See You Someday is a very commercial sounding ballad that should have been a hit. She's My Salvation is well above average for any melodic rock standard and yet it's the 9th best song (out of 10) on the album. The reason no one agrees on whats the best is because they are all so damn good! 10/10!

From: gener8tr Date: September 21, 2004 at 15:14
TRUE BELIEVER is the perfect song for this disc. Great stuff all-around.

From: Date: October 16, 2004 at 20:56
2 lines, -The sounds that made me cry and kept my soul awake - and - Will you ever know what i wanted to say, maybe you'll find a way- Still haunt to this day....

From: Sergio Date: October 18, 2004 at 14:12
El mejor de esta maravillosa banda, donde desde el tema 5 hasta el 11 suena perfecto, y lo que más me gusta de este CD es que alcanzaron un sonido totalmente personal. 9.5/10

From: Dreamaholic Date: October 31, 2004 at 3:32
Even though I picked this up years ago used for $4, I was really disappointed...I guess the standards established by Love+War were set too high. But now when I listen to it, I think I never appreciated it. I always loved 'Body Double', 'Mercy', and 'Salvation', but I've also grown to like everything else except 'True Believer' and 'No Matter What'...but give me time, and I might like them too. While not perfection, a very solid CD that grew on me.

From: onemorecast Date: November 11, 2004 at 23:10
one good song true believer, the rest is just filler.

From: wyrm Date: February 14, 2005 at 2:06
My personal favourite of ALL TIMES!

From: 80schyld Date: December 12, 2005 at 11:38
This is one of my all time favorites. Have had to replace this one in my collection a couple of times. This album has decent production and good musicianship. Steve Blaze's guitar work is top notch on this one. In my opinion this is one of their best offerings, don't get me wrong I think Love and War is also up there, it just suffers from lower quality production. This is evident in the sound of the drums. Poetic Justice is a must for every collecter, I give it a 8.5 out of 10.

From: speed demon Date: March 28, 2006 at 14:41
Not my favorite Lillian Axe disc but come on it's Lillian Axe! One of the best bands ever in this style of music and one of the most overlooked also. I own this and I would recommend it to all. A must for your collection and usually very inexpensive to pick up!

From: Lovedrive Date: July 31, 2006 at 16:29
Disco muy sólido. En mi opinión más maduro y mejor producido que el anterior, pero con menos chispa en general. Mi fav: SEE YOU SOMEDAY

From: evileric71 Date: January 6, 2007 at 21:53
A true hard rock classic. This album shows their collective and individual talents at their peak. Stevie Blaze is one of the most underrated songwriters in rock music. Also, I think it is unfair to lump them in with the hair rock genre. They have more talent in their pinky fingers than most of the hair rock members have in their whole bodies. These guys should have been MEGA huge. Anyway, my personal faves from this album are See You Someday, Living In The Grey, Dyin To Live and Mercy.

From: onemorecast Date: January 18, 2007 at 3:18
There were 2 good songs on this cd and one of them is a cover. There is a reason a lot of 80's hair bands didn't make it big. It's because they couldn't write a whole album of good songs. The bands that did make big could write a bunch of good songs for multiple albums. Don't kid yourselves.

From: Clayton77 Date: January 18, 2007 at 15:29
Believe me, this album has NO FILLER...JUST KILLER!!!!!! One of the best in Melodic-Hardrock ever. Lillian Axe is NO Hair-Metal-Band, they are MORE...they are GODS!!!! (10/10)

From: metalhead4life Date: January 18, 2007 at 20:51
Yes, like Clayton77 said - if you like melodic hard rock then this is the CD for you. I bought this around 6 years ago and balked at first about buying it as I really never heard any of this bands music (the cover also somewhat turned me off); I eventually bought it and was surprised how good these guys were/are. This CD has plenty of hooks and catchy good songs. Great vocals and musicianship; top class; believe me, you will not be disappointed with this one!! 8.75/10

From: Artie Date: September 30, 2007 at 16:27
Along with G.N'R's 'Since I Don't Have You', 'No Matter What' is one of my favorite covers.

From: Rambo Rockerman Date: January 20, 2008 at 12:43
This CD is awesome again, but wait the next one will blow your mind.A must have again.

From: Doug Date: June 10, 2009 at 17:59
New release is just around the corner. Get primed on this one! One of my all time favorites.

From: Eva Galli Date: August 6, 2009 at 4:08
FANTASTIC, BRUTAL N SWEET, great combination, I cant believe why these guys didnt get to the TOP, beatiful arrengements, See you Someday WHAT a Tender Ballad, the other songs mega cool, Im really impressed how in every melody they change literally the way of the song n starts a new melody, really nice, in other words "naughty scales n harmonies", Finally 10/10, 100/100....BUY IT NOW!!!.....What r you waiting!!!!

From: CC Date: September 18, 2009 at 9:47
You always get the feeling in rock circles that you are sposed to consider Love & War to be the best Lillian Axe album, with the self titled debut being second, but for me, this is their best album. I actually wasnt that impressed with the first two. Yes there were some great tracks on them, but as a whole, they just didnt hook me. This album though, I found myself playing over and over all the time when I first bought it. Yes, No matter what, is a cover version, but this is by far the best I have heard. There are even artists I like more than Lillian Axe who have not come close to matching their version. Of course, one good cover version does not a great album make, which is fine as the rest of this album is awesome. Songs like Innocence, True believe, See you someday & Living in the grey are brilliant tracks, but then again, so are the other songs. Love & War will always remain the album everyone raves about, but I am quite happy to have this one to myself.

From: Doug Date: September 22, 2009 at 18:04
CC, I could not have said it better. This album is one of my all time favorites. There is not a bad song on it!

From: rockhardrock Date: July 25, 2010 at 9:31
i would dare to say that this record is their best one.i've only haerd their first three albums and this one wins. my favs here: "Body Double", "Living in the Grey", "The Promised Land".

From: sluss528 Date: July 25, 2010 at 14:09
hey all!! just saw them last night in h-town on 1 of there 5 dates in the states and they kicked ass!!! stevie blaze is just awsome! derek is leaving to pursue other ventures and is being replaced by ronnie monroe of metal church. these guys are a class act and really appreciate the fans who buy the music and come to the shows. they hung around and signed autographes, took pictures and talked to everyone. hey pearcy take note!!!!! the new disc is great as well!

From: metalmaniac777 Date: February 2, 2011 at 10:27
Comparing this 3rd effort to "Love and War" is like comparing a dandelion to a rose; sure, both have their merits, but nobody's paying $40 for a dozen dandelions. So, in comparison to "Love and War," this just doesn't stack up, with too many fillers creeping into the mix. But taken on its own terms, this is a very good hard rock album, and even subpar Lillian Axe is better than 85% of what most bands put out as their best effort.

From: gooup Date: August 2, 2012 at 16:34
Probably my second fave by Lillian. HARD to beat this one.

From: edwithmj Date: October 22, 2012 at 10:57
Another superb Lillian Axe release and is just as great as the first two. While the first will always be my favourite, I think this one is slightly better than the second as it has less filler. True Believer, Dyin' To Live and Living in the Grey are my picks off this one. My only complaint is the instrumental Digital Dreams which is horrid and unnecessary. I love instrumentals but this track has no melody and is just noise as far as I'm concerned.

From: Wardy Date: August 7, 2013 at 7:46
Some essential Lillian Axe here, took me eons to find this new again & finally landed in the collection again (don't lend yer stuff peoples If yer looking, Dyin' To Live is Lillian perfection, that song is carried throughout all the Lillian releases to date & could serve new listeners well if exploring the band. Elsewhere tunes such as True Believer & Innocence continue the pop sensibilities with a twist & Body Double is the most naff the guys get here but tolerable it is. But it's the little extra depth & emotion found in class numbers such as Living In The Gray, Promised Land or Mercy that truly reach deep as do the handful of ballads on offer, See You Someday incredibly tasty. 1 cover song notwithstanding, Lillian Axe were a sound of their own & Poetic Justice was their first complete album to deliver without missing a step. Psycho still wins outright but ya gotta cave & purchase Poetic Justice if even remotely keen on this band - Rating 8.5
