A true rock classic as is any of Rainbow's stuff.

From: Kim Date: June 20, 2002 at 13:52
C`mon. Uhhhhh. Joe Lynn Turner killed this great Band. His voice killed the feel for a good rock`n Roll tune. It was so clean, sweet sounding, boooring. In my opinion he ``killed`a period of Rainbow, Malmsteen, and Deep Purple. His voice is too smoth for good rock/meta/ and hard rock`n roll.

From: WidoMakr Date: June 20, 2002 at 20:00
Kim...if u want to listen to what I believe the BEST Rock/Love song EVER made find Joe Lynn Turners Endlessly...amazing...his vocals are in the top five of all time....what happened to AudioGalaxy is a shame..but like I never thought their would be one better than Napster..along came AG..their will be another....(I hope) Quote the WidoMakr....Never more

From: Kim Date: June 21, 2002 at 15:43
WodoMakr. I admit he has a great voice. The problem is that I think its too nice and polished for this kind of music. I might check out his solo projects. thanks foe the Tip.

From: Rockforever Date: July 12, 2002 at 14:32
This was Rainbow's last decent album, and featured the vocals of Joe lynn Turner once again. It is true that he lacked some of the grit and raw power of Ronnie James Dio or Graham Bonnet, but he is still a good singer. This album isn't anywhere near a Rainbow classic, but it contains decent, solid rockers and ballads.'Stone Cold' was the album's best known song, and is a cool song. Ritchie Blackmore's guitar is good as always; a good addition to any hard rock collection, though not essential.

From: Shane Date: August 18, 2002 at 15:40
I disagree with you clowns, Graham has a good voice, Dio's voice is garbage, but Joe Lynn added the, smooth bluesy blend that was intended for Rainbow.

From: Kim Date: August 18, 2002 at 16:00
Cool. So Im a Clown. Cool Shane. Im a Clown, You`re Deaf, and Dio`s voice is garbage. Hmmmmmmmm.....NOT He is about 6500 years old, and can sing better than most in Heavy Metal. But you wouldnt be able to tell, because youre deaf. Mention a band that Turner has played in and then tell me if that band has ever been `bigger`because he joined. He is simply too soft for this genre.

From: aceofice Date: March 18, 2003 at 18:44
i don't know why this album has been so much critisized,i only know it's one of the best hard rock albums ever heard and one of the best of rainbow(the other two are 'rising' and 'stranger in us all')...and yes i adore j.l.turner's voice!

From: rising power Date: March 31, 2003 at 0:51
Joe Lyn Turner Commercial? Totall bollocks!!! How can a guy(DIO)who sings about pixies and elves be more tougher than I guy that sings about fast cars, fucking women and the fake rock industry(Spotlight kid). Joe L. Turner is the Charles Bronson of rock 'n roll not a sweet little pixie like Dio.

From: Chris Date: June 5, 2003 at 8:08
Lol at the last comment (thats funny). In my humble opinion this is a great album, and although i like the vocals of Dio and Bonnett, i do prefer the vocals of JLT when it comes to Rainbow.

From: Gar Date: June 6, 2003 at 23:39
This was the album that got me into RAINBOW when I was a kid. There are some great songs on this, but unfortunately looking back at it, there are a few duds as well. I think Joe Lynn Turner's vocals helped push them more into the mainstream than they could ever go with Dio or Bonnett.

From: Allan Jones Date: June 25, 2003 at 8:54
This is the great album of Rainbow, when Rainbow won the world songs like ' Stone Cold' and ' Bring on the night' are immortals Joe ,David, Roger, Bobby and Ritchie were the mosty incredible line up of Rainbow...good times that never coming back!!!

From: Emilio Date: July 29, 2003 at 6:34

From: RR-Finland Date: August 28, 2003 at 10:54
This was my first Rainbow Lp, and it had a self drawn picture on the sleeve, becouse the orinal was lost. Anyway, it started my Rainbow addict and for me JLT was original singer at the time. When I later heard Dio´s albums I chanced my mind. There´s tracks where both of these guys are best in it, and it´s hard to put those great artists on the line.

STONE COLD! MY FAVORITE RAINBOW'S SONG!!

From: robert Date: October 4, 2003 at 12:49
Otro buen disco del ARCO IRIS!!! JOE LYNN TURNER es mucho Jou!!!

From: Ghostrider Date: October 31, 2003 at 22:56
everyone has an opinion but with this album blackmore had to push the limits alot more than ever and what better than Joe Lynn Turner to do that. Looking back some lycrics and the album cover are just plain silly but damn this is better than if Blackmore had kept dio on more problems would arise especially when you can only sing about that dungeons/dragons,killing demons and that silly fantasy shit for so long. It may not have nbeen a succesful payoff for Turner/Blackmore because they wanted to

From: ghostrider Date: October 31, 2003 at 23:02
be like Journey,Froeigner,Survivor and at the time they were huge! But for those esp on this page who printed crap about this album be more considerate because others havent heard and do like this album. should we shit on your Fav artist? well these guys are great and the singer Joe Lynn Turner's Rescue You cd is great aor/hard rock. however this band does have hit and miss albums they were not bad though much bettert han today's shite bands.

From: al ortiz Date: April 25, 2004 at 23:01
it doesnt matter who is the singer, they are all great and I think that if you are a fan of Rainbow, you should enjoy all of their phases

From: Big Papa K Date: June 28, 2004 at 16:15
This is a vast improvement over the previous album. While they are almost moving into an exclusive aor type band here, the songs are a lot catchier this time and the music is more memorable. If Rainbow wanted to move into this direction, then I agree with others that Turner has the best voice of their three singers to do this. 8/10

STONE COLD AND EVERYTHING IS CLEAR !!! PHENOMEN

From: Propane Date: November 30, 2004 at 22:43
In a way I'm in agreement with Kim. Joe's voice leans the music toward commercialism. Having said that... Death alley driver? what was I thinking? These songs were written for Joe. Forget I said that Buy this one!

From: Michael Date: February 27, 2005 at 9:56
Stone cold - cant't break away from your spell - great song !!!

From: Jimbo Date: March 24, 2005 at 22:54
Perhaps Joe Lynn's vocals wafted as menacingly as the perfume from a sixteen year old debutante on her first car date, but the guy had a style all his own. Smooth, confident... Like a hard rock Buddy Love without the silk smoking jacket. Stone Cold is the gem of this album, but songs like Power and Death Alley Driver display JLT's ability to deliver the goods when the guitars come crashing down, and Blackmore seems to be having fun here, something missing from the Bonnett one off. A solid 9/10.

From: underworld king Date: January 31, 2009 at 10:00
Eyes of Fire is the stand out track for me on this album. Not a bad song on this one as far as I am concerned.

From: george_the_jack Date: May 7, 2009 at 15:48
I'm getting goosebumps whenever I'm listening to 'Tearin' Out My Heart'(even if I've listened it 3000 times so far)...Turner's contribution to this epic anthem is CERTAINLY from outer space! What a voice guys!!!

From: Animal! Date: March 3, 2011 at 0:11
This one hit me Straight Between the Eyes!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: June 25, 2013 at 15:29
Classic album but far from being a masterpiece IMO but obviously this is a must have to every self respected rocker out there to say the least..."Death Alley Driver" was the hit single taken first of this release,"Stone Cold" followed,"Bring On The Night(Dream Chaser)","Power","Miss Mistreated" & "Rock Fever" are,i think,in everybody's book...recommended...85/100

From: hair metal again Date: April 7, 2014 at 12:54
pretty good release by RAINBOW back in 82!the musicianship is ok ,the songwriting good but nothing blowminding and as a whole you get what was expected!"tite squeeze","stone cold" and "miss mistreated" are the best moments!

From: 707STAR Date: January 15, 2020 at 0:32
ANYBODY LEAVING NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT JOE LYNN TURNER IS A SCHMUCK. HE,S ONE OF THE GREATEST VOCALIST OF MELODIC ROCK. HE,S PROVEN HIMSELF TIME AND TIME AGAIN. THIS ALBUM KICKS ASS. HE CHANGED THE FACE OF RAINBOW ALTHOUGH RONNIE JAMES DIO WAS GREAT IN A DIFFERENT WAY.

From: Doug Date: January 16, 2020 at 22:01
I don't disagree with "707STAR's" comment that JLT is a great vocalist, but I saw Rainbow way back in '83 on a festival bill with (I forget the opening act) but then it was the Scorpions, Nugent and REO. Rainbow came on after the Scorps and the Scorps blew them off the stage and JLT was constantly berating the crowd telling us "we needed to rock harder." He was really coming off arrogant, and the crowd was not having any of that!
