A decent album with some good cuts...my faves are 3(nice)4,5(nice),6,9,10 & 11...James Christian is trying to keep the ship out of sinking so it's been good the effort up to now, let's see when HOL decides to record a new one in the near future.84/100

the good points are like always ,a beautiful and mysterious front cover,a perfect production, the fabulous voice of mister james christian and the fact that here they forget the bad metal inspiration of their two last records.come back to the roots,a real hard f m record.but....the main problem is that they have totally lost their legendary inspiration.only track 9 "art of letting go" is worthy of the real house of lords.i can add that track 2 "ocean divide "is a great song.but the rest is ok not bad but very average, far far away from their last hard f m records.they have lost the inspiration, the typical spark of class, the trade mark of house of lords.for me it s a big deception.they are able to do much better.but maybe they are at the end of their career.

i can add that track 12 the japan bonus track is an acoustic version of the ballad "the sun will never set again".

The singles for this one were misleading in fact those alone did squat fer this fan, but flawed I am. Back to back in record form and the whole record makes for a fantastic listen, an improvement on the back to form Indestructible even. And it's Jimi Bell's soloing that wins ya over take Reign Of Fire's nod back to the Skyscraper era of DLRoth, uplifting and enhancing an already great song. That, New Day Breakin and the Art Of Letting Go all essential modern-day HOL and both the heavy title track (woulds been my preferred album opener) and Oceans Divide are pure gold (n and neither did much fer me as promo singles, go figure!). Barely a weak track, Grains Of Sand a nice departure and The Other Option a real nice finish. Put simply the songs are strong and Jimi kills! But don't be fooled, this one's an album listen fer sure. Sure they likely won't release another heyday record but this will do just fine thankyou very much. Rating this a solid 80+ soon to be much higher no doubt!

House of Lords returns to show us what a good ballad sounds like. This album is more in the vein of 2006-2011 HoL, and it's just as good as any of those releases, why? Because James Christian writes and sings with SOUL. Tracks like "Hit the Wall" and "The Sun Will Never Set Again" are incredibly moving and classic Christian, and right away you can tell they were used for far more than just the sake of being ballads. Jimi Bell absolutely rips on this one, fantastic guitar work. My favorite track is probably Reign of Fire. Love seeing these guys still going strong.

Being a huge HOL fan, I tend to be a little bias with my excitement regarding their albums. Now comes "Saint of the Lost Souls"...it is a real solid enjoyable album. Not perfect, as many elements of the album seem too familiar and rehashed in come fashion or another from previous releases. Nothing to ground breaking here, as it is appears to be another album that falls right in line with previous efforts. I enjoyed this album a little more than the previous one "Indestructible", as this release seems to have a little more light-hearted energy and steps away from the more heavy and aggressive sounding HOL. This album seems to hark back to the early days (1988-1992)more so than the last few albums. The only negative is the unnecessary instrumental (and quiet boring) to the beginning of Harlequin...which should be a separate track in itself, especially clocking in at 1:30 +/-. HIGHLIGHT TRACKS: #1,2,4,5,6,10,11. MY RATING: 89/100
