With an all star cast such as this the results should be uniformly superb-however whilst this is a very set of keyboard friendly AOR songs this wasnt the classic that I was hoping for. Nothing wrong with any of the tracks but they seem to lack the WOW factor I was wanting from the talents involved.

This is pretty good - a bit different from what I was expecting (not quite so heavy on the keyboards), but good all the same. Got it signed by Rick a while back - he was really surprised I had it!

this is an ok album, more or less a typical Rick Springfield -tao periode -album.....

From: ROB GARCIA Date: April 13, 2004 at 10:51
not a bad album but a bit hard to diggest if you ask me!.the pedigree of the musicians involved it's unquestionable, unfortunately the songs are not up to the standard of previous works from this individuals.imo they should've concentrated in writting better & catchier tunes.like rockhead said you expect a lot more from the people involved and it just didn't happen.shame really.

Sounds like Rick Springfield on caffeine pills. Almost has that Larry Greene on the "Over the Top soundtrack" quality in places, with Rick stuttering like Woody Woodpecker on "Psychoactive". Very reminiscent of his Tao period (as Rocky said), with lots of big, flashy choruses, hyper tempos and elastic rhythms. My favorites are "Heaven" and "Ravianne". (Not "Rovianne", by the way.)

From: espo Date: April 14, 2004 at 6:54
Koogles, I had the same doubt... and I checked the booklet again: the word "Rovianne" is used repeatedly in the lyrics (as in the title song and on the back cover as well).

From: Rycheage Date: May 16, 2004 at 15:57
What is apparent is the classy musicianship from all involved. The music is punchy driven pop with a funky overtone (as only Springfield can play), embellished by the fiery guitar lines of Pierce, making for a powerful package overall.

Not a bad CD, for me as many others the best track is Rovianne. I have a compilation CD (MTM sampler?) somewhere back home with a track called Love Receiver on it which is better than a few of the tracks on this CD and maybe should have been included. I think I go with Rockhead on this one.

Think this is a little aor jewel. Very overlooked and underrated. It's in vein of rick springfield's Tao and Rock of life. Lots of drum/keyboard programming here, but nowhere annoying in any kind of way. Great guitarparts by tim pierce and a great full production by Mr. Marlette. On MTM sampler vol 2 is an unreleashed track from these sessions called lovereceiver. Grab it while you can.9/10

A kind'a Supergroup which only got together for this one-off shot. Sad really as this is one great little album. Most of the suspects here though have very successful careers in their own rights so I guess it was not going to be a long-lasting affair. Maybe one day they'll release some 'vault' stuff or another album together? Anyway, traversing a Westcoast & AOR/Melodic Rock spectrum these guys made sure both camps had their fill. IMO I would recommend it to anyone into the genre/s.

Very nice album IMHO...it has a kind of a retro sound(somehow it reminds me of Rick Springfield's "Tao" era)...about the songs...a lot of goodies such as "Modern World","Scandalous Life","Psychoactive","Suzanne"(catchy),"Heaven","Stranger" & "New Lover"(the best cut of the album IMO)...recommended if you are into AOR with some Hi Tech in it and obviously Melodic Rock...87/100
