Not seeing Malcom Young above in the Personnel listing is killing me.

AC/DC does not dissappoint with their 16th studio album. Of course everybody knows what to expect from them, but even with big problems with the personnel they've managed to make a surprisingly good album that sounds fresh, inventive, even a bit different at times but still like classic AC/DC. I prefer this over their last effort, Black Ice. There are no fillers on this one, every track rocks. My personal favourites are the first four tracks. I'm not overly excited about the last three, but they're good, solid AC/DC tracks whatsoever. Stevie does a good job replacing one of the best rhythm guitarists of all time, and Brian sounds as good as ever! Malcolm wwould be proud of this album.

black ice was a beautiful surprise after several long years of very average and repetitive records.black ice was an atomic bomb the most popular hard rock band of the world had find a new inspiration like in the glory days.rock or bust is only for die hard fans.rock or bust is an other very average and very repetitive record.absoluty nothing new under the sun."dogs of war " track 5 is a super song but the rest.....hum is decent not more.i ve the feeling to hear that since one million years.no spark of class,no catchy hooked songs like in black ice.only traditional and hyper classic acdc realise.

Good times Rock'n roll! Excellent vinyl sized (35 mins) dose of classic rock. It sounds surprisingly fresh and energetic despite the events in the band structure. After three spins I find no filler although not quite all killer. As an album I find this better than Black Ice. Spot on production keeps your boogie feet stompin'. Highly recommended.

At only 34 minutes this a short album. My favorite tracks are #1 and #2.

Ok,,i understand,,,AcDc is a major and one of the best rock n roll band,,, but seriously,????? I just think this band need a break,,all that is enough,,,damn it,,,since 40 years,,same riff,,,same chords,!!!! same songs about sex,,,same hat on johnson head,,,this album is ok but C'Mon,,,we don't need this at all,,,Big Mistake,,like Pink Floyd anyway,,,,Sorry but all that is the thruth,,,,,

From: Doug Date: January 19, 2015 at 17:04
"dany69," most would agree about the "same riffs, same chords" complaint, but this is what AC/DC is all about. They have never veered from this and have remained true to their rock roots. AC/DC is the band you turn to when you just need a good, hard rockin' song, and not have to think beyond that like, for example, Pink Floyd. Heck, it's their namesake; A chord, C chord, D chord, C chord, the start of a good song.

I gave "Rock or Bust" some time to settle in before I wrote this review, and I have to say this is probably one of my favorite AC/DC CD's. IMO "Rock or Bust" is the best thing they have done in years (Black Ice was really good, but bogged down with filler). The band sounds "re-energized", and Johnsons vocals sound stronger than on the last 3 CD's. I also like that the new CD is "fun", it's a short and to the point. I don't see how "Rock or Bust" would disappoint long time AC/DC fans?, and it would also be a fine introduction to the band. Favorite songs 1,3,4,7,10.

First thing to jump out at me was how surprisingly goood Brian Johnson sounds, after sounding like he was on his last legs on Stiff Upper Lip and Black Ice. Wonder how they did that. Otherwise, it's exactly what you expect from AC/DC, nothing less and nothing more. Determined to make their money in a newfangled post-millennial way, they wrote a dumb locker-room pep-talk song and sold it to the networks to air during playoff baseball. So yeah, that feels decidedly un-rock 'n' roll. But I guess Malcolm's long-term care expenses and Phil Rudd's legal bills are mounting. I dunno, this is background music, fast food for the ears. It's going to go on the shelf before long, and you'll be back (in black) to the classics again. You know you will.

Short as hell and pretty bland and generic. Last truly great album by this band was Razors edge. I know they have their "sound" and they don't like to deviate from that, but this for me is what makes a new AC/DC album not be an essential purchase these days (which is why I only got round to picking this up last month for a fraction of its original price). Nothing terrible on the album, as you would expect, but nothing that really stands out either. During their career I could probably condense their whole catalogue down to a couple of albums worth of songs, as when they write a great song, they write a truly great song, but the rest of their catalogue for me is non essential. Sadly every album since Razors edge has been pretty much non essential, with maybe one or two songs that have stood out as being good rather than great. If this is their last album, so be it as I think it really is time to call it a day. With Malcolm and Brians health issues, it seems silly to try to continue.

The one thing you can ALWAYS count on with AC/DC is that they will always be AC/DC...no diversions, no experimentation, no being trendy, etc. Sadly, this will be the last AC/DC record to feature some of the bands infamous alumni; Malcom Young (retired to illness), Brian Johnson (dismissed due to controversial miscellaneous issues) and Cliff Williams (retired at end of Rock or Bust tour). This album certainly offers a lot of the same 'ol classic AC/DC sounding tracks and fun, nothing to ground-breaking, but still gives the listener what they want - AC/DC! Never minding what Angus is going to do with the band in a newer version so to speak, R.I.P. AC/DC. Highlight Tracks: #1,2,3, 4,7,9 MY RATING: 81/100
