From: FABIEN Date: October 8, 2001 at 15:17
A FANTASTIC album! All songs are classics for me.Bring back so much good memories from my teen years."Kiss my love good bye" is a rocker I will NEVER be tired of."Dirty luv" is just too cool with its "na nanana.."."Over the edge" is hypnotizing..Like Bang Tango, these men have a MYSTERY image:Nocturnal Rock N' Rollers,HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES!!

From: metal_man73 Date: October 31, 2001 at 13:20
Alot of great songs on this cd!!! "Over The Edge" is my favorite....good driving song! "Crystal Eyes" is another great tune!!! Like scofenix said, "check out their new one"

From: Dragonfly Date: December 15, 2001 at 6:57
I agree with the above. Great songs with alot of good times remembered. I caught them with XYZ once. Dynamite show.

From: TIM Date: May 3, 2002 at 11:44
I wish I'd been at that show Dragonfly. This cd does have great tunes as the others have mentioned.

From: Desslar Date: May 5, 2002 at 2:28
A more diverse sound than Cocked... Kiss My Love Goodbye is great, although I think most of the songs try a bit too hard to sound more mature.

From: dokken6008 Date: July 12, 2002 at 7:17
"Over The Edge", "Wild Obsession", one of the best ballads I have ever heard in my life "Crystal Eyes", "Some Lie 4 Love", "I Found You", "Kiss My Love Goodbye" and "It's Over Now" = L.A. Guns' best album, 'Hollywood Vampires'. The early 90's is one of my favorite periods of time for music, and I have yet to find any other period of time that so many great cds were released in a three year time span (1990--1993, mostly 1990--1992, though). I'm hoping 'Waking The Dead' can match up to this disc.

From: dokken6008 Date: July 23, 2002 at 3:42
I recieved my promo copy of L.A. Guns' upcoming 'Waking The Dead', and I found it to be a fantastic piece of art. Here is a link to a short review I wrote about it: >> http://www.lagunsweb.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/ikonboard.cgi?s=3d3d0a1570a6ffff;act=ST;f=1;t=189 >>. Hope you enjoy it.

From: Gar Date: August 10, 2002 at 3:40
One of my favorite albums! Every song is great. The quality of the songwriting is very high.

From: nitrodoll Date: August 10, 2002 at 5:35
la guns weren't so 'wild' and "sleazy" anymore on this one but it showed a talented rock n roll band.. nitrodoll1974@hotmail.com

From: rocknutter2001 Date: August 15, 2002 at 10:17
this is my favourite l.a. guns album different to the first two they were great but this album is a classic

From: RichieRocker Date: August 15, 2002 at 19:08
"Some Lie 4 Love" is my favorite song. this album didnt do it for me though. I like the first 2 cds a lot better. This is a well produced and written album, but it wasnt for me.

From: Baris Date: September 12, 2002 at 3:01
Yeah, this is their most dirty and sleazy one. A style album. And I think this is the greatest. Here all the instruments really sound dirty, so as Phil. My favourites are: "Kiss My Love Goodbye" and "My Koo Ka Choo". Ah, let me remind another thing from a movie: "Over The Edge" in Break Point.

From: James Date: September 12, 2002 at 12:04
I do have to say this if my favorite LA Guns cd.

From: The Fizzy One Date: September 28, 2002 at 13:32
I was really disappointed in this when I got it eleven years ago, but now that I'm twice as old, I can apperciate the bluesiness of this one. Still, it lags seriously in the middle. Best songs are the first three, "Crystal Eyes" "It's Over Now' and the last two.

From: vics Date: January 11, 2003 at 9:38
best l.a.g. album to ever come out! "i found you", it's over now", "crystal eyes" and "some lie 4 love" .. real melodic l.a.g. classics

From: cyang316@yahoo. Date: May 16, 2003 at 7:57
this album is, in my opinion, the best from L.A. Guns. Listening to it reminds me of the good old days... i miss being a careless, frustrated teenager! now i'm a careless, frustrated adult! i love "it's over now" does anyone know if l.a guns has an official website? email me if you have any info. thanks.

From: pablo Date: September 15, 2003 at 9:41
Deacuerdo con la opinion de arriba el mejor cd de L.A Guns ,muy comercial y con temas excelentes

From: Mike P. - TX Date: April 4, 2004 at 22:16
I thought this album totally blew, my friends and I were greatly anticipating this release, and were greatly disappointed. I enjoyed the first album and Cocked and Loaded, but not this one...

From: Phil Damaged Date: April 27, 2004 at 22:26
yeah theres only a couple good songs on this one. Nothing will get close to the first two albums until waking the dead in my opinion.

From: MJ (Marla) Date: May 8, 2004 at 0:07
"Kiss My Love Goodbye" is my favorite song on this one!! "My Koo Ka Choo" is really cool too, and I love "It's Over Now".....but the rest of the album kind of leaves me yawning though... Certainly nothing on here that blew me away like the song "Never Enough". Hmmmm....have they done anything that COULD top "Never Enough" though.... If they have...I haven't found it yet..

From: jack Date: May 26, 2004 at 0:43
This album is as good as Gun'N'Roses use your illusion 1 and 2!A classy album from a class act!

From: Joan Date: July 26, 2004 at 19:25
Quina meravella! Aunque es mas tranquilito, me gusta casi tanto como el anterior, sobretodo "kiss my love goodbye", "dirty luv", "over the edge" y "crystal eyes",que debería ser considerada como la mejor canción lenta del grupo (basta ya de The ballad of Jayne, q está muy bien, pero tampoco hay para tanto!

From: Big Papa K Date: August 19, 2004 at 15:04
This one slips a little more in quality. The tracks are lot blusier than their first two albums so the rockers are a lot slower than the past. The ballads are top notch though. 6/10

From: Geoff Date: August 19, 2004 at 21:41
Agree this one is not as good as the previous, but this is still a great hard rock album. One cannot help but love the opener, 'Over the edge'. I also think there are few better ballads than 'Crystal eyes'... as well as 'It's over now' which I love. I also really like 'I found you'. Overall, it's just a really good rock album... again!

From: petr Date: November 11, 2004 at 8:24
It´s very good album

From: Propane Date: November 30, 2004 at 16:28
This can be filed along side Don Johnson's, under C.S. This kind of thing is for the kiddies. Run as fast as you can in the opposite direction and hope you never see this album again.

From: Propane Date: February 20, 2005 at 18:12
I take that back, I have studied Hollywood Vampires and I have came to the realisation that these are magnificent musicians.

From: Date: February 27, 2005 at 4:33
L.A. Guns were so diverse and unique and I agree they have put a few shit albums out but this one totally rocks, nothing hair metal about them...they are just a good time rock n' roll band

From: Chad Date: March 11, 2005 at 23:29
LA Guns could pull this album off. While it is quite different from their first two releases, it comes across as comfortable. They did some experimenting with tones and mood with this one. It is a bit darker but that is not a bad thing. It also ventures into some filler material in which the first two albums did not have. Not sure if it was intended to throw their fans off or try to create new ones.It left this one a bit baffled as it has some good tunes on it (Kiss, Dirty eyes and Dirty Luv).

From: MIGUEL GUNS Date: April 4, 2005 at 15:12
UNO DE MIS DISCOS FAVORITOS, MAS TRANQUILO QUE LOS ANTERIORES PERO LLENO DE TEMAZOS. 8'5/10

From: Beikes Date: July 18, 2006 at 9:05
To me this is the perfect L.A. Guns album. So incredibly diverse, and such an atmosphere created here, that it is also probably the album of the nienties (along with "Slave To The Grind", of course). It also contains the greatest L.A. Guns song ever "Over The Edge". A slightly softer production, and way more melodic recipe, one must have in mind when buying this one. 10/10

From: dudemetal1 Date: August 24, 2006 at 0:23
A little more filler than what i'd like from them, but still recomended because of songs like the Amazing "Over the Edge" as well as "Crystal Eyes", "Kiss My Love Goodbye" and "It's Over Now"....Over all, not as rocking as the first two, but still worth having in the 'ol collection.

From: Rambo Rockerman Date: January 20, 2008 at 12:25
This is a pretty good CD,worth getting still.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: July 8, 2008 at 19:08
After the greatness of Cocked and Loaded, L.A. Guns takes a left turn into some weird, '70's-style Aero/Zep experimentation. There are still some essential GUns songs, like "Kiss My Love GOodbye," "Crystal Eyes," and others, but it's definitely a different feel from the last album, and I can't say I like it as much.

From: JamesEagle Date: November 2, 2009 at 16:08
Best I've heard from LA Guns, the sound is very mature for a glam band, I would call it a cross between glam and mellow rock. 'Over the Edge' and 'Here it Comes' are the best tracks for me, quite soft but excellent tunes. An unexpected album at the time, but very, very good.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: January 15, 2011 at 13:54
"Over The Edge" is a good song, but just a weird way to start off the album. Tracks like "Wild Obsession" and "Some Lie 4 Love" are good, and of course "Kiss My Love Goodbye" is a highlight, and each of the three very different ballads stand out. But then you get songs like "My Koo Ka Choo" and "Here It Cums," that just don't sound like L.A. Guns playing up to their talent and strengths. Not a bad release, but after the first two discs, it was hard to see this as anything but a disappointment.

From: rockhardrock Date: February 2, 2011 at 15:46
nothing sounded as good as their second album. they changed a bit that sound with some funky wibe. some tracks here are memorable and some are simply forgetable. my faves: some lie 4 love, kiss my love goodbye, crystal eyes and my koo ka choo.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: March 31, 2011 at 22:08
Wow guys i must admit that this release hooked me up in seconds!!!..pretty nice songs with that dirty vibe and glammy rocking side that undoubtebly catches you...L.A Guns is a reference of Glam Rock by all means..."Over The Edge" reminds me badly of Kingdom Come!!! ,"Some Lie 4 Love","Kiss My Love Goodbye"(best),"Here It Comes"(best),"Wild Obsession"(best live song)& "It's Over Now"(best nice)...songs that will put a smile in your face...96/100

From: edwithmj Date: January 28, 2015 at 13:08
L.A. Guns peaked with their first album and steadily declined the more albums they put out. Over the Edge is a decent enough opener but I find it takes too long to get going and then drags on for too long. Some Lie 4 love is very upbeat and I do like this one a lot. Kiss My Love Goodbye is similar to the previous track and is also a winner for me. Crystal Eyes is a ballad that lacks punch and decent lyrics but I don't mind it, really. Wild Obsession I actually think is a bit Avant-garde but I rarely come back to it. My Koo Ka Choo is horrible for a variety of reasons: it's tuneless, meaningless bilge among other things. It's Over Now is another semi-ballad with a slight upbeat feel to it. I don't think it needs to be on here: pure filler. While not a bad album per se, what's missing is the sleazy feel of the last two albums; this just feels like another hard rock/glam release with Phil Lewis on vocals. Standard fare.

From: petermexico13 Date: April 28, 2015 at 12:14
Long Live to Rock and Roll!!!!

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: May 10, 2015 at 20:28
Looking back, we zcan't say we weren't warned. The more experimental songs off Cocked And loaded seemed to point the direction L.A. Guns would be going on their next album, and sure enough, the twangy guitar tone of "Magdalaine" figures just as prominently as the formerly ubiquitous power chords, on songs like "Some Lie 4 Luv," "Snake Eye Boogie" and "Big House." Wonder if Tracii switched to Telecasters in the studio or something, based on the twang factor, and the relative lack of guitar snarl on songs like "Wild Obsession." The album title also hints at a darker feel in paces as welll (check the lyrics to "Over The Edge"). Like a lot of bands that had been doing pure sleaze, 1991 seemed like the year of Trying Something Different. A good disc if you invest the time andj attention and jan open mind, but not the instant gratification of the first two, and so, as I commented years ago, hard not to view as a step down in quality.

From: hair metal again Date: January 11, 2020 at 13:27
an absolute hard rock masterpiece by the mighty LA GUNS back in the early 90 s when the scene ruled the planet airwaves totally different from their previous ones but that s why Hollywood Vampires is unique in sound, vibe &musicianship!Phil again gives with his voice&performance this street but classy at the same time thing and the guitar work perfectly matches it!"kiss my love goodbye","over the edge","crystal eyes","dirty luv" are classics and overall one of the releases that had great impact on me

From: Auslander Date: March 2, 2021 at 13:08
I remember how much I loved this album cover as a teen, with the 3D glasses. I thought it was so cool! The first song really blew me away with the weird Asiatic sounding start and then the epic wall of sound. Crystal Eyes is the second best ballad LA Guns did (behind Jayne). Kiss My Love Goodbye has that Aerosmith boogie sound and is a great song. Wild Obsession and It's Over Now round out the best tracks from this excellent album. I can appreciate that it isn't as great as the first two albums, but even still, it is my favourite LA Guns album. 90/100.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: December 5, 2023 at 14:55
For some reason, this album has disappeared from Apple Music, with only a handful of songs being available on various compilations. I wonder why that is. Luckily I have my old cassette, people MP3’s until it gets reinstated. For that matter, Kix's Midnite Dynamite and Blow My Fuse have both been replaced by their remixed versions.
