One of the best pop-metal bands of all time, due in no small part to Steve Rachelle's awesome vocals. Even if you own the band's albums, this new collection is essential due to the new song 'American Hair Band,' which, for those who don't know, spoofs Kid Rock's 'American Badass' by singing the praises of hair metal. But this is not a silly, cheesy spoof...this is a hard rockin', in-your-face, attitude-laden spoof, done by one of the few bands who could pull it off. A must-own for all TUFF fans.

From: David Date: January 3, 2002 at 21:12
The song American hair band is to the tune 'Sad But True' by Metallica

From: Don Date: February 23, 2002 at 17:06
One word for David, 'duh.'

From: Motley Date: April 9, 2002 at 1:55
I looooove the song America hairband. but I ve havent heard others songs coz I got in a tape. He is so right on everything he sing son that song. Glad Kurt Cobain, grunge died. Hate everything that has the sound of Limb bizkit, Linkin Park. loser skater music. Fuck Off. lets celebrate the return of glam!!!!!!Tuff rulez!!!!

From: Federico Date: May 7, 2002 at 9:40
A good compilation. 'American hair band' is for JASON and for all the others rewiwers who piss off this kind of music. Ok everybody has his own tastes in music, but Kelly Hansen is a great singer. One of the most beautiful hard rock voices. C'mon Jason Pull (like Kip Winger said).

From: mikey allen Date: August 27, 2002 at 17:22
this disc is fuckin killer!!!!!

American Hair Band: FUCK grunge, Tuff RULES!!

From: SEBSFOX Date: September 5, 2002 at 13:58
All I know from this band is American Hair Band. What a song. Any new-rock/metal lovin' fan needs to listen to this and get their jack-ass heads together. 80's Metal RULES! One problem with this song - they didn't mention anything about the legendary yellow and black attack - STRYPER

From: poisonarrow Date: November 28, 2002 at 5:37
Hardly a surprise that stryper wasn't on that song!

From: HG Date: January 4, 2003 at 5:47
Good to see Stevie is still at it. The Kid Rock spoof is a great attention getter. If anyone is out there listening-tour the US. Either one one of those combo tours or in some clubs. Specifically, play Cincinnati!

One word 4 Don, LOL!

This album is another compilation of such, with a few new songs, including the one just mentioned here. The old tracks are compiled nicely, but will already be familiar to fans. The few new track see the guys in good form. The selection reaches into the band's back catalogue and Stevie's solo career. For those unfamiliar with the band, but for one reason or another are just catching on, there would be no better place to start checking the band out than this compilation.

From: Bizkit82 Date: December 18, 2003 at 5:58
How many more re re re re re re re-issues of the Tuff catalog can one fan endure? Why not just get the ORIGINAL line up back together, cut 12 new tracks, put em on a hard drive, and burn some CD's?? Hello... Stevie! The idea of Tuff writing and recording new material from members at ages 35 and over is interesting. The song topics would be worth a listen now that the blow has worn off. Where's George? Mike Lean? Todd Chase? Dig these dudes up, dust off the mold and go for the reunion sell out!!!

Just heard 'American Hair Band'. Absolutely ROXXXXXXXXX :-P

From: Joss Date: May 29, 2004 at 23:08
El tema American Hair Band es una patada en los huevos a kid rock y a todo el maldito sistema musical que existe actualmente

From: Andrew Date: July 19, 2004 at 14:40
Damn! Tuff kicks ass! They play it at the nightclub I go to all the time, always gets ya in the mood. Took me a while to find out just who sang it lol but I'm glad I finally did. A true tribute to PROPER rock!

From: JaniBonNeil Date: August 2, 2004 at 20:07
This just in......STEVIE RACHELLE IS THE OWNER AND MASTERMIND BEHIND METAL SLUDGE.COM!!! Try the site. It is redesigned and redirected, and Stevie has a front page interview and tells all. Boy did this ever make SO MUCH SENSE in retrospect. STEVIE = Metal Sludge!

From: Denise Date: August 16, 2004 at 12:56
American Hair Band is a great song, that some of us old timers get a kick out of.

From: Stevie St Ford Date: August 17, 2004 at 7:07
Motley you knob jockey, much as I like Tuff they are not in the same league as Nirvana and never will be. It is possible to like other kinds of music as apposed to just hair metal you retard. The sad fact is you represent everything that is/was wrong with the genre of music you say you love! Crawl into a corner somewhere please and never grace us with your presence again. There's a good boy.

From: Geoff Date: August 30, 2004 at 2:57
A question here as I don't own this album and am not familiar with it - is it re-recorded songs of the originals? For instance, is 'People they change' re-recorded and produced in a clean manner? And what are 'I won't give up' and 'Not telling the truth like'? Thanks for any help!

From: Priest On E Date: March 22, 2006 at 19:19
Stevie St Ford i think youre the know jockey here. Motley is right dude, and if you disagree i think heavyharmonies should consider revoking your envolvement in this website. You could say Tuff aren't in the same league as Nirvana, the same way you couldnt say they were in the same league as the Beatles, Michael Jackson or Duran Duran musically...thats not the point. This website is about proper music that binds us all together; a bond and brotherhood that Nirvana were against. Fuckers like you

From: Priest On E Date: March 22, 2006 at 19:22
who supported thier music helped destroy the music we all love. Anyway great CD by trus defenders of the faith. Nothing personal but someones gotta stand up for Motley and what we all believe in.

From: metalalways Date: January 27, 2009 at 0:33
Right on Priest grunge sucks and it shows on American Hairband i absolutley love that song and i agree with what Stevie says on that song grunge bands are trash lol the other songs on this cd give Pearl Jam and Eddie a big fuck you lol the other songs on this CD is cool too i love American Man if you like The All New Generation you'll love American Hairband.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: January 28, 2009 at 1:43
"American Hairband" is a funny song and a dead-on parody of Kid Rock, even if the grunge references were long out of date by 2001. It's still a real hoot to hear him work in the names of so many hair bands, while slagging Eddie Vedder (a favorite punching bag of mine). The rest, not so good. I'm not a big fan of Tuff anyway, so songs that weren't "good" enough to make the albums ... well, they aren't that great, by and large.

From: crazynights Date: March 19, 2009 at 13:06
MMmm where is the best Tuff song in thsi compilation? I'm talking about "the all new generation", what a great song, and ruck a pit bridge?

From: GlamSlam Date: August 24, 2009 at 0:00
