Awesome record. Greg Howe is great kick-ass guitarplayer. His jazzy-rock solo's and riffs are the best. Al Howe isn't the best singer but still does decent job here. It's all very Van Halen-ish, but 10 times better. Check out uptempo rocker "Ferocious" and bluesy rocker "...Sloe-gin...". Just great stuff. Too bad the follow-up: "now hear this" suffered from a muddy productionjob. 9,8/10. Hé eddie, eat your heart out.

Excellent collection of jazz-rock songs with crazy solos and gravelly vocals.

Time to expand... If you love Greg's first solo album as much as I do, you'll really love this venture into the mainstream. His brother, Albert, handles vocals and his voice is very similar to David Lee Roth's except it's more gravelly and he's able to hit a lot more notes. The songs, are similar in style to Van Halen's first two albums except are a bit more polished. Greg himself is a flawless shredder and his playing style really fits in with the style of music here. The opener, High Gear, has an extremely catchy riff that you won't get out of your head for ages. Carry The Torch is another catchy hard rocker. Other highlights are Ferocious and the lower-tempo Social Fever. This is fast becoming one of my favourite albums that I keep coming back to.
