GOOD 81/100 TRADITIONNAL AOR at it's BEST 10 times better than RAMOS "living in the light" with the busiest line up/crew of the MELODIC ROCK scene ! The songs are much better with Eric RAGNO (Mr EVERYWHERE... from CHINA BLUE to STEVE GRIMMETT BAND from VOX TEMPUS to FROM THE INSIDE etc..) handling the majority of the credits with HUGO VALENTI (VALENTINE/OPEN SKYZ) writing all the lyrics ! The music is HEAVILY influenced by JOURNEY and sometimes it's maybe too much ("the dream") but sometimes they rock HARDER (opener "you're not alone" with huge performance by DRUMMER hero John MACALUSO-exTNT/MASI/ARK/RISING FORCE/STARBREAKER/overlooked UNION RADIO etc...) and you can even discovered a new side of HUGO's voice STYLE ("bring back this love") still thin and full of emotion ! The guitar work by ex LE MANS Josh RAMOS is almost perfect ,with great tone... very tasteful and melodic and still HOT ! His best SMOKING performances since ages !

TRADITIONNAL AOR at it's BEST !PART 2 The production by F.GROSSI is good and the mixing by Dennis WARD is once more terrific ! Sometimes this kind of project built by RECORDS companies could be cheesy or flat , this is not the case here , with so much talents and passion involved they can be wrong !

Excelent album with a Journey sound influence...even the voice has some kind of a Perry's touch in it...apart from that catchy songs with great harmonies, the opener "You're Not Alone" is a killer AOR song.90/100

Dull dull very dull. I love the opening track 'You're Not Alone' and a couple of others in the first half, but this is just dull AOR by numbers. Hugo sounds excellent as always and for a Grossi production, it isn't half as bad as some of his previous messes, although I think Dennis Wards mix has helped this out a lot. Put this up against say the Journey album and it's weaknesses become very apparent. Nothing strong or consistent enough material wise to stand out on here for me i'm afraid. Been there, worn the T-shirt. Oh and it's very Green - I hate green.

To Jez : it's strange because you'd rate him higher than me : 82 ! Funny but i think we are agree on the overall quality of this release ! BEST REGARDS my friend

Agree with Jez's comment. Journey's 2008 album blows that one away! And Pineda is so much better at sounding like Perry. The problem with Ramos-Hugo is that it sounds nice and brings forth great memories of Journey, but the songwriting is a total letdown. The songs start very nicely and just when you expect a great chorus you get absolut zero! And I think the vocals are not really well produced...7/10

Not as good as it perhaps should have been, but mostly on the money. 'You're Not Alone' is a absolute fuckin' monster of a track to kick off the album with, and tracks like 'When You Get Lonely' and 'Tomorrow' are also superb, but there are a few too many generic/average tracks that make me think that although this is good, it could have been so much more.

No one has commented on this one for a while. I pretty much agree with the above comments. Good, but not great. One thing that really bugs me is the overplaying by Ramos. His solos go on and on and on. And they aren't bad, but he's no Lukather or Schon. The guy needs to tone back the length of his solos and focus more of quality over quantity. Hugo sounds really good, though.

Very, very Journey-esque. It reminds me of "Arrival" in terms of overall pace. It starts off with one of my favorite AOR tracks ever, "You're Not Alone" and then...kind of trails off. The rest of the songs range from mid- to slow-tempo and aren't particularly memorable. The production is nice and Hugo delivers his typical mellow, heartfelt performance, but...where's the bite? One of those Frontiers projects that's nice for a few listens but doesn't really stick with you, except for the first track of course. Wish there were more of those on this album!
