The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular King's X CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. This was an awesome album. This one surprised me. Have to admit I always go back to this one and Gretchen Goes to Nebraska. This is by far their best, but how much better of a catalogue can you get than King's X. Their whole catalogue is awesome.

One of the best King's X releases together with the following 3 albums.

I can basically just cut an paste TT's review as he said it exactly, "This was an awesome album. This one surprised me. Have to admit I always go back to this one and Gretchen Goes to Nebraska. This is by far their best, but how much better of a catalogue can you get than King's X. Their whole catalogue is awesome." http://www.nolifetilmetal.com/kingsx.htm

A great debut album for a great band...and just think...there is only three members!

Fantastic album, this Kings X debut. Heavy as hell, boy, the bass by Doug is unique, low, dark , heavy and still melodic ! You only can admire such work. This is a unique band with a total unique style ! A pity some of their later material is too poppy and to experimental. But this one is a classic release ! And yes, they're only with three, like the mighty Rush !

One of my all time favourite bands. Can't get tired of listening to them. No weak link in this band, exceptionnal musicianship. Each instrument is full of personnality. Kinda complex at times but never uselessly. Vocal harmonies are develish. You can hear that Doug has a deep charisma and many scares in his heart. This man deserves a lot of respect and admiration. No member could be replaced, TY Tabor is a great guitarist, with his own style and sound. GREAT UNIQUE BAND.

Kryiis, indeed a brilliant act, certainly in the early years ! This is their finest ! Great stuff, brillant bass ! I like it. They have a unique sound and deserve to be big. But they are ignored ! A shame !

From: Lynchomaniac Date: May 1, 2004 at 10:54
Extremely underrated album! Their best IMHO!

From: illimey Date: May 1, 2004 at 19:07
Yup. Definitely one for the discerning music lover's collection. Can't comment about other albums by them as I don't think I've heard any - but this is probably unbeatable. Everything I like is here - melody, power, emotion & intelligence mixed together with a unique style and raw talent. Smashing! 9/10

From: AOR freaky Date: May 2, 2004 at 10:09
I like the pumping bass ! Typical King's X !

From: AOR freaky Date: October 1, 2005 at 10:31
Just listened to this one again and boy, it still blows me away ! That f... heavy bass ! Brilliant ! I repeat, together with the mighty BOC one of the most innovative and original acts ever ! Have to listen to their newie a bit more, but it sounds promising too ! FANTASTIC band that deserves to be BIG ! But hell, a lot of bands that don't have to offer as much as these guys have made it, and King's X not ! A mystery to me !!!!!

From: hair metal again Date: September 3, 2014 at 12:17
excellent debut by KING S X and from the start it was obvious that they are kinda pioneers in the hard rock scene with that dark, mellow but also melodic and hard rockin approach they gave to their sound!brilliant combo by those 3 great musos and a band that still delivers ,faithful to us and their music!essential

I really wanted to like this but this does absolutely nothing for me. There are no hooks, no melodies and the guitars sound slightly down-tuned. The only song I could take away was Goldilox. Below average hard rock I'm afraid.
