The debut, and an ideal calling card to what the Toto pastiche was, and would continue to be, all about. Red-blooded rockers like "I'll Supply The Love", "Hold the Line" and "Rockmaker" were interspersed with R&B flavors like "Georgy Porgy" and rolling ballads like "Angela". Toto would explore all these directions (and more) over the next two dozen years.

"Hold the Line" kicked when released and still does, but most of the rest of this is just forgettable pop. They can play, and they can write songs, but the chemistry just isn't clicking for some reason. "Girl Goodbye" and "I'll Supply the Love" are the only other standout tracks.

Este disco, pese a ser el primero lo considero como uno de los mejores de TOTO, es mucho mejor que el segundo y tambien mejor que el tercero.La canción instrumental es buenísima.

I have heard many, many people regard this here debut as a classic. Well, i am a fairly big fan of this band, and have been for many years and in all honesty i feel that this is the bands weakest effort by a mile. Hold the line is of course the standout song on here, and thats pretty much it. I'll supply the love is not the song people say it is, and the likes of Georgy Porgy and You are the Flower are laughable nonsense. If you want Toto at their best then go for Isolation (it Rocks) this dont.

Desde el momento que escuche Hold the line me quede enamorado de TOTO. Que clase...

Great stuff. Not really comparable to the other releases,as a matter of fact doesn't really have anything to do with other efforts, still is a great album if u don't think about it as a rock album.Child's anthem it's really an anthem,I'll Supply the Love,Hold the Line,Georgy Porgy worth the album anyway.A must.

Classy debut and a one of my favourite Toto albums. 'Hold The Line' has always been a staple on fm radio and still is over 25 years later-a good song is a good song in my book, and there are plenty of those here, all immacuatley played and produced.

ESTE PRIMER DISCO DE TOTO ES EL QUE MAS ME GUSTA A MI. ME PARECE QUE AQUI EN ESTE PRIMER ALBUM DESPLIEGAN SU MUSICA EN FORMA MAS NATURAL, QUIZA UN SONIDO UN TANTO INMADURO CON TOQUES A LO CHICAGO O TENDIENDO AL JAZZ PERO EN GENERAL UN DISCO DE AOR ECLECTICO, MUY VARIADO. CHILD´S ANTHEM ES UN EXCELENTE INTRO INSTRUMENTAL DE GRAN CALIDAD MUSICAL, CON LA GUITARRA DE LUKATHER Y EL TECLADO DE PAICH COMPARTIENDO EL PROTAGONISMO DEL TEMA...

From: PODEROSO YIRO Date: April 22, 2005 at 19:35
ASIMISMO, I´LL SUPPLY THE LOVE ES UN TEMA ALEGRE MAS ORIENTADO A LA RADIO CON UN EXCELENTE CORO, PEGADIZO EN DONDE DESTACAN LAS VOCALIZACIONES PUNZANTES Y ENERGICAS DE BOBBY KIMBALL;GEORGY PORGY, UNA CANCION ENTRE FUNKY Y R&B CON LUKATHER EN LAS VOCALES, BASTANTE AGRADABLE Y CON GRAN RITMO; MANUELA RUN, CON UN SONIDO DE ROCK ANDD ROLL MAS CLASICO; YOU´RE THE FLOWER, CON UN KIMBALL MAS APEGADO AL SOUL; GIRL GOOD BYE ES OTRA DE LAS EXCELENTES, CON UNA INSTRUMENTACION EMOCIONANTE Y DINAMICA

From: PODEROSO YIRO Date: April 22, 2005 at 19:39

I think about buying some stuff from TOTO for the extraordinaire track "Hold the line" only. Listen to the intro & hooks of that song, they're maybe soooo simple but thus great --However, if I do so, I have to buy some of the Greatest Hits albums 'cos I'm not into that "hard rock's baby days" music. But that song is amazing!!!!!

Great debut album from a great band! The last 2 tracks are classics and the rest are pretty good too!
