Not my favorite Toto album: a bit too anonymous sounding for my taste. Still, some full-tilt rockers make the ride enjoyable, "Turn Back" being one example.

This Toto album is probably the most guitar orientated (together with Kingdom of Desire). If they would only remaster it.

From: Eric Date: January 28, 2004 at 15:14
The sound recording is horrible, dry and uninspiring. Although "If it's the last night" is incredible. "Goodbye Elenore" is an awesome classic rock style song that reminds me of "Flirting with disaster" by Molly Hatchet.

Their weakest album maybe.Has some good moments.Worths a listen, nothing more.

From: YIRO SEVENTH Date: August 17, 2007 at 20:59
es decir, un Rock directo, aqui interpretado a la voz por Lukather; la soulera "Million Miles Away" nos trae ecos a lo CHICAGO, sobre todo por esa voz de Kimball impregnada de R&B; las lentas "I Think I Could Stand You Forever" e "If Its The Last Night" son demasiado suaves, pero suenan agradables; por supuesto, la emocionante "Goodbye Elenore", da muestras de gran explosividad y por ultimo "Turn Back", un tema trepidante y de enorme calidad. Siendo fan de TOTO, OBLIGADO TENERLO

This is my favourite Toto album. Song 3 and 4 are fantastic. Yes the production is maybe not the best, but this album has no fillers. A little masterpiece!

From: Carlos A. Date: August 18, 2007 at 10:21

In my opinion, the best and rockiest Toto album. I love early Toto and never get tired of this classic.

From: RClap Date: August 10, 2012 at 17:13
This is one of the best Toto albums. More guitar oriented but with a lot of melody. It's an AOR Classic. Highly recommended for any AOR lover. 98/100

As Luke said it was their try of Arena Rock as they were pissed off that Columbia always only released the ballads and softest songs as single. It was a brave try but of course with a crap label like Columbia it was bound to be a commercial failure with little to no promotion and no interest from the label. There are a lot of great tracks. English Eyes, Gift with a Golden Gun, Goodbye Elenore, A Million Miles Away, If it's the Last Night and the awesome title track which sounds like it belongs in a Fantasy Movie. Sadly the sound is horrible, on CD even more than on Vinyl and not even the japanese Remaster changed much, though it sounds a lot better but still flat, thin and dry.
