You pretty much know what to expect from this Ausi band after 2 albums. Their more keys than a locksmith 80's/AOR sound is intact with no apologies. "Caught In The Crossfire" picks up right where "Serenade” (2011) left off. The opening track has some guitar heft and leans towards MHR but isn't as good to my ears as "Cry Wolf" from their last album. The weak spot to me is the lyrics are overly clichéd ("MY HEART'S A BATTLE FIELD") with too many love/lose songs blended with ballads galore. After repeated listens I found my ears wondering as after the first track with not much of a variation in tempo. It's not bad, but many bands back in the day have done this style, and done it better. This is 2014 so take what you can get.

Excellent release once again by WHITE WIDDOW ,one of the best new bands !With their 3rd release they prove that they can write easily many good songs, perform in a great way and create a solid release based on the passionate vocs, excellent guitar leads and the heavy keys!of course it s not perfect ,as the songs seem to have the same basics and i cant find any really big song ,but overall it will satisfy you! These guys really feel what they re doin and this is important in a time that many non believers have jumped in the genre

white widdow have find the great label record:aor heaven.when you listen their sensational music you are in a o r heaven."crossfire" follow exactly the same path than their two first sensational effort."serenade" was a little (maybe)better than their first album."crossfire" is still ,a little ,better.it s simply amazing.these guys are totally unable to write a bad song.they are specialist is killer songs.excellent sound excellent production, that s perfect.i m not really agree with the two first comments.this record is varied ,never boring.tracks 4.7.1 are speed and oriented guitar.track 9 is a pure fabulous a o r song.the rest is an orgy of top class hard f m.the japan import is essential cause track 11 "thunder"is a marvellous hard f m song.this record is irresistible.2015 start very well with this aor masterpiece and with maverick "quid pro quo".an exceptional irish band who play pure sensational hard rock.no ballad,no keyboards only fabulous guitars.hope this jewel ll be soon in h h

i can add that the first time i listen track 8 "born to be a rebel" i think this super song have a harem scarem influence.right gilles ,cause this song is written by harry hess and stan meissner.track 11 (jap bonus track) "thunder" is written by steve plunkett.

A good album overall, basically all the songs are appealing and attractive ones as you might expect from a band that has the word "melodic" stuck in its soul...best tracks for me are 3,4,5( ),6,7 & 9(nice)...more or less in the same league as their previous 2 releases...89/100
