What, not one comment about this GEM ! ? This is perfect AOR, ladies and gentlemen !! Don't miss this pearl ! Listen to the opening song ' Outlaw', and you'll be hooked. One of the best AOR songs EVER. This is together with the mighty Harlan Cage the best release ever on MTM ! ESSENTIAL aqain !!!!! BUY !!!

From: FBI Date: January 20, 2003 at 15:32
This album is not bad, but I think 450 votes with an average of 9.36 is much too high. There are much better cd's out there! I'd give a 5.0!

From: freddy de keyze Date: June 14, 2003 at 20:18
Not bad, FBI, and you give it a 5 ! For me this is one of highlights of the nineties. Brilliant ! And the openingtrack 'Outlaw' is phenomenal. Buy or die !!!

From: Peter-Poland Date: June 22, 2003 at 5:41
Very good, clear AOR album. Some good ballads and faster tunes, with good lead guitars and nice keyboards addition. I rate it like that: 7.5/8 /10 Recommended

From: Rycheage Date: July 20, 2003 at 17:11
Debut CD for American commercial rockers. Given a hand with songwriting by Survivor dude Jim Peterik. Shades of Signal, Survivor, Diving For Pearls, just not quite in the same league. Still, nice tunes and good melodies. For fans of USA brand AOR.

From: AOR freaky Date: November 24, 2003 at 7:25
Forgotten (but not by me ) AOR masterpiece from the US ! Where are these guys now ? What a voice Rick Trater has. Listen to 'Outlaw' and you know what I mean ! Great, great stuff ! A MUST HAVE !!

Captive Heart, one of Chicago's greatest AOR endeavors... Some of the best vocal work I've heard out of an indie lable. As for the fate of this band, they did not record any more materail after an ill fated attempt with Capitol Records and the band faded away into the sunset. Almost every person is still very active in the Chicago scene so keep the faith that they will record again... For more info on Captive Heart: Bobbyrock@xglobal.net

See ya!

From: JUHANAL Date: December 19, 2004 at 16:44

From: MikeL Date: January 6, 2005 at 20:30
I heard so much about this group. It took me a while to get this and honestly while the CD is pretty good I was a little disappointed. Outlaw and Ride of Your Life are the best songs.

From: AOR freaky Date: September 14, 2005 at 9:47
Does someone know what happened with this great act ? Where is Rick Tratar and what is he doing these days ? (Koogles ? ? ? !). Hell, that guy has a famous voice ! Great record !

From: TIM (2) Date: September 14, 2005 at 11:01
This one is okay. No more, no less. "Just One Touch" & "Outlaw" are the highlights by a million miles - & are almost worth buying this for alone - with the rest being fairly standard AOR. A little samey in places. If you see it cheap buy it, but you will probably only ever play 2 tracks... 6/10.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: February 1, 2006 at 10:40

As one of the founding members of this band, I just wanted to thank everyone who had nice comments about the CD. It's a shame that in the U.S. our style of melodic rock went out of favor just as we were completing recording. For those wondering, this music was actually only meant to be used as demos to land a U.S. deal, and never really intended to be released. MTM thought it was put together well enough to be released. The band actually broke up two years before the release.

From: z4roxx Date: March 5, 2007 at 13:14
Glad to hear a founding member,it's maybe the first cd I did buy when I went to aor,it's surely the first!Because It was the first one I didn t aprreciate too much that genre but from now on It has become a very good cd!I have a particular affection for this band and cd,bought when it has been released,11 years ago....

From: hernanHRM/AOR Date: June 15, 2007 at 20:06

From: hernanHRM/AOR Date: October 19, 2007 at 16:54
Agregando algo mas a este buen albun de AOR, pues es que las baladas de este albun tienen unos sonidos magicos con ese toque de teclas fabulosos "Home Of The Brave y HeartTache" temas que simplemente son espectaculares.. claro en su nota de baladas y como olvidar a tremenda joya de AOR Over You Over me 9/10

From: YIRO SEVENTH Date: October 23, 2007 at 20:09

From: george_the_jack Date: June 17, 2008 at 13:16
Outlaw is simply one of the best AOR songs I've ever hear....A genius piece of art!!!!!!!!!!

From: jstoyz Date: May 6, 2009 at 23:49
Fantastic slice of commercial AOR highlighted by "Outlaw"- one of the most blissfully brilliant tracks ever to grace the genre. Rick Tratar's vox. on "Shattered Dreams" also ought to be heard by all up and coming AOR singers as a model for how to patently "get it right"- since I'm not a singer, that's where my technical expertise and advice giving begins and ends (LOL). Hyperbole aside, while the album as a whole may not be as consistently remarkable as the second and third releases from labelmates Harlan Cage, this band really should have struck gold (figuratively and literally) with a couple of these songs. If any unreleased material remains, I hope these guys seriously consider getting it out to us given the resurgence of AOR/MHR and the success of some of the reissue labels.....Jeff.

While there are better out there, this still has some decent tunes. Considering the crap the music industry was putting out in the mid 90's this is way ahead of most. Another I have to play once in a while when I'm in the mood for mid-tempo rock with some melody!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: February 20, 2011 at 18:10
Lovely AOR/Rock album...sutile yet powerful in some songs...but basically AOR..."Outlaw" is such a nice piece of AOR,liked it a lot ,"It's Too Late" is a very good one,"Over You-Over Me" is a wonderful track, probably the best of the album,"Just One Touch" beautiful strong ballad,"Ride Of Your Life" rocks & the bonus track "Time Out" rocks too! ...a very good vocalist(Rick Tratar) and excellent musicianship...get it!!!.93/100

From: 123charpenay Date: August 3, 2017 at 11:15

From: hair metal again Date: June 13, 2018 at 8:03
sensational debut for CAPTIVE HEART and i must say that i was really impressed !divine commercial hard rock music of the early 90 s and if i had to describe them i d say that this is WALL OF SILENCE with James Christian fronting them wow!!!i m really enthusiastic cause i cant find anything missing and EVERY note of it is superb!"heartache","it s too late","over you over me","helpless" are fantastic songs and overall this is a clear masterpiece of the 90s hard rock scene
