If you see any errors or omissions in the CD information shown above, either in the musician credits or song listings (cover song credits, live tracks, etc.), please post them in the corrections section of the Heavy Harmonies forum/message board.

The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular Santa Cruz CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Please only submit official CD releases; no bootlegs or cassette-only or LP-only releases.

EPs and CD-singles from Santa Cruz are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

I loved the debut album (and the original EP) but my initial expectations of this album based on We are the ones to fall, was not massively high. Wasted and wounded went someway to improving my expectations, but still was not sure. Thankfully upon finally hearing the whole thing I actually found for me that its actually a far superior album to the debut (and even We are the ones works so much better as part of the sum of the whole). While the debut still has my favourite song on it (Aimin high), this one for me has a lot more hooks, with a lot more songs standing out on the initial playthrough than the initial playthrough on the debut. Its a bit heavier for certain, but thats no bad thing. Finland certainly has some of the best new bands out there these days with the likes of Santa Cruz, Reckless Love and Barbe-Q-Barbies. A far cry from when they were only really known for Hanoi Rocks and death metal.

Wow, what an excellent slice of modern hard edged sleazy hard rock. Much better than their debut. Melodies and hooks hit you instantly. My only gripe is the amount of needles motherf... on lyrics.

Like most of the Sdcandinavian bands that do their best to party like it's 1988, Finland's Santa Cruz go for the sweet harmonies and big hooks rather than anything that sounds truly sleazy. There are some heavy riffs to be sure (either drop-tuned ot in D-standard Motley Crue tuning, can't tell which), and a lot of the songs have a bit of a modern groove. But the vocal style is typical of these type of bands--that textbook mix of early Sebastian Bach singing Def Leppard songs with a funny accent. And when the guy tries to add a little rapping to several songs, the results are more silly and unthreatening, despite ample swearing. "My Remedy" in particular winds up sounding like a heavy Roxette song with that whole "ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-my remedy" thing. Doesn't anybody up there have a working cheese detector?
