Such a cool lineup, but the album takes a few spins to get into, IMO. Corabi's voice has gotten rougher over the years and Aldrich's guitar does not stand out as much as it did with, for example, Whitesnake.

big and bad surprise yesterday evening at "transbordeur"lyon france,in fact the dead daisies have playing in guest of the answer.it s amazing.nevertheless they have playing 75 minutes.they have playing their best songs of their different records and several covers.for example "helter sketer" (the beatles, pat benatar) or "we are an american band "(autograph).it was a super concert ,they plays a top class big american rock.john corabi is an excellent and mighty singer with lot of charism.marco mendoza and doug aldrich are top class musicians they are very very talented and brian tichy is a phenomenon.they put the fire in "transbordeur".after their show they sign autograph and take pictures with the crowd.these guys are very very nice and very free.they take lot of pleasure to be on stage.after with the answer it was not the same affair cause this irish band play a rock very strange a little hard a little physcadelic,a little new wawe, a little aor.the reaction of the crowd was very cold.

Hi 123charpenay!, Great review of the concert, but the song "We Are an American Band" is an original by "Grand Funk Railroad" (the versión you surely known is the cover from the álbum Thats the Stuff by Autograph.

It's surprising that an album this good from another so-called "supergroup" can fly so far below the radar. Maybe its because the album doesn't fall squarely into any specific category. It is clearly rock and roll and leans towards hard rock but is also clearly not heavy metal. It has elements of jazz, funk and even mo-town mixed in ... but the bottom line is that this is a superbly written, produced and performed rock and roll album. I shouldn't have to accidentally stumble on an album like this but I guess that's how the music industry is these days. 30 years ago this album would have been HUGE. Today it is just an afterthought. In any case, this is a group of very talented musicians at the top of their game. The music is catchy as hell and you can just tell the band is having fun, their enthusiasm shines through. John Corabi sounds fantastic and Richard Fortus is a very under-rated guitar player. Highly recommended!
