| This is maybe slightly better than the debut but is still not a classic. They seem like very talented musicians and they have some very catchy songs but unfortunately the production and lead vocals leave this one as just good but not great.

| nice album by these canadians but(fucking hell there's always have to be a "but" somewhere)everytime i listen to these guys, i get the feeling that i'm listening to a bunch of guys who are playing harem scarem b-sides all the time;maybe i'm being too hard on these guys... it's just that imho they should try to make a bigger effort in developing better song material and at the same time trying to run away from the harem scarem shadow that seems to be on top of them all the time.keep it up!!.

| I have to say though that there's not too much variety throughout, the style, pace and delivery doesn't change greatly. The rhythm guitar in particular doesn't appear to have any of it's settings changed on the effects or the amp through the entire album. For me, there seems to be something missing, like the whole thing needs depth. The vocal harmonies go some way to rounding it out but I think it needs keyboards to fill it out completely and a bit of atmosphere in the mix.

| Could they top the killer debut? My word they could! The first two are ultra melodic, killer hard rockers, 'Don't tell the rain' is still the best song these guys have recorded and is truly stunning. Every single other track is awesome too. All extremely melodic, containing awesome riffs. 'Age of innocence' and 'Your disguise' deserve special mention as they're the best of the rest, and simply perfect, as is 'Sleeping in the fire'. What a disc! Sensational. Again, only 1 filler-'Never Surrender'

| I don't have the time to write on every cd of these guys so I write 2 lines on this one.Their best cd,IMO(never heard only their debut unfortunately but I hope to take it very soon).Great stuff,if you hear this band the first impression is that they rip-off Harem Scarem style but...I find E.R.fucking great with MANY killer melodick songs with an excellent songwriting and good ideas.Very very few fillers(maybe a couple in every cd).Also their live performance is pretty good.Super melodick stuff!

| Sorprende no ver mas comentarios aquí. Este gran disco es muchísimo mejor que su debut IMO, noto mas variedad que en su album debut. Harem Scarem total pero hecho con sumo gusto, buenas guitarras, producción acetable y algunos buenos solos. "Don´t Tell The Rain" "Sleeping in the Fire" "Barely Holding On" y "Age of Innocence" son tremendas canciones ultra melódicas con unos solos realmente muy buenos. Vale la pena escucharlos y opinar esta clase de discos. 8.8/10

| Don't Tell The Rain is absolutely Fucking Mind Blowing! and as close to an EVH riff as any I could think of! Mike Dimtrovich is a technically gifted axeman, who's riffs sometimes get a little bit to in depth for the style of music he plays,

| Another great release from this Hareme Scarem clone band....not quite as good as teh debut but very close. Once again the melodies just kick and this band seem to work well together. I was a bit disappointed with the next couple of albums. This is another must have disc 88/100

| Yes I agree it's got that Harem Scarem sound but for me it's boring. I agree with Rycheage, ROB GARCIA, Cruise it just needs so much more more energy, keyboards, and sound production...though I think the singer is a bit lacking and just doesn't fuel the songs. To be honest the guitars sound a little modern like foo Fighters or nickelback in places, ain't got any other albums so I might take a chance and get em...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

| Trying to decide which CD is better, this one or the debut, is like trying to pick which cute girl, the blonde or the redhead, to hit on at the bar. Like twin raindrops, it's hard to differentiate between the two albums, but that's not a bad thing, since the debut was so stellar, meaning this sophomore effort avoided any slump in quality. It's been over a decade since this CD was released, but it has aged very well, thanks to the pristine production. Of course, production without the benefit of good songs would be akin to slapping lip gloss on dog shit, so thankfully the songs on this hot helping of melodic hard rock are slick and catchy. If you're guilty of not owning this CD, please rectify your transgression immediately.

| Really well done modern melodic rock, very much in the mode of their Canadian cohorts Harem Scarem. Fantastic riffs with a GREAT guitar sound. Not too fond of the singer's voice, but it's not too objectionable, overall. LOTS of harmonies -- almost too much, to where it almost becomes tiresome at times. But man, those driving riffs and song structures are fantastic. Best song for me is "Never Surrender," with a great groove that surrenders into a rocking double-time powerhouse. 85 / 100

| excellent 2nd step for EMERALD RAIN and a must have in every collection!all the songs are catchy and full of great riffs and big hooks!a great band that could do more with better vocals and looks!
