If you see any errors or omissions in the CD information shown above, either in the musician credits or song listings (cover song credits, live tracks, etc.), please post them in the corrections section of the Heavy Harmonies forum/message board.

The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular Fortress/Eliot CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Please only submit official CD releases; no bootlegs or cassette-only or LP-only releases.

EPs and CD-singles from Fortress/Eliot are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

FORTRESS formed in the early 80's out of Milwaukee, WI. with the lineup above (Kenny as their drummer early on and then Jay once they relocated to CA.) and changed their name to ELIOT (after Chris Eliot). FORTRESS released a 9-track Demo titled, "On The Loose" around 1987 and Eliot also released a 4-track Demo named "You Can Rock" in 1988 (even though FORTRESS originally recorded that song). ELIOT recorded an additional amount of Demo tracks with this Compilation likely including everything from both bands (even though you can find some different songs played live on YouTube). They tried to cash in on the Hair Metal craze by relocating to CA. although were unsuccessful in doing so. There were also at least 3 other members in the band at one time or another although it's unclear in what capacity (Chris Eliot would go on with drummer Dave Hall to record material with the act THE CENTER OF X as well as Chris having a Solo career and possibly playing in some cover bands). But it was...

difficult determining which songs were recorded by which group (the ELIOT 4-track Demo was definitely songs 2,10,11, & 17) while I know that some of the FORTRESS songs were 1,3, & 5 thru 8 although I couldn't say for certain about the others. Influences ran rampant, as you could list numerous bands such as TESLA, TORA TORA, TUFF LUCK, ZEBRA, TNT, DOKKEN, VICTORY, SOUTHGANG, JUNKYARD, DANGER DANGER, & even LOVERBOY amongst others. But they were really a bit heavier overall than your typical Hair Metal act. More confusingly, there may have been a FORTRESS reunion as recent as 2013 as well as ELIOT in 2015 with their stomping grounds now being Las Vegas, Nevada but it's unclear which moniker they are going under now. You'll also find the band listed on most websites as FORTRESS/ELIOT (likely due to confusion about their biographical history) even though both acts released separate material under each moniker and were based in different locations (Wisconsin and California).
