Excellent! Whoever said Journey is nothing without Steve Perry is wrong. Augeri is great, and this one's full of good tunes. Check it out!

From: Jennifer Date: April 30, 2001 at 10:22
Excellent is right! I picked up this one last week and just caught Journey's Arrival Concert on TV via satellite this past weekend--GREAT! This CD is terrific and Augeri is a fabulous singer. It's well produced and just plain great to listen to. Journey is just as good now as they ever were. High marks for this one!

From: Darren Date: May 5, 2001 at 13:20
Augeri is brilliant! Great music on ARRIVAL-best from Journey since FRONTIERS. This is one of the overall best Journey projects. ARRIVAL is destined to be another one of rock and roll's classic albums. Perry sure isn't missed ...Augeri is a great vocalist all the way.

From: Greg Date: May 7, 2001 at 14:33
best CD anybody has put out in years. VERY GOOD.

From: James Date: May 7, 2001 at 18:54
Great CD. One of the best overall Journey cd's out there. Steve-great work with Tall Stories and even the Tyketto CD was OK. Keep it up

From: Scott Becker Date: May 13, 2001 at 0:31
Excellent music! Possibly the best CD of the new millenium so far.

From: Amy Redding Date: May 17, 2001 at 13:17
I agree with all the above, plus I'll add that this one is a masterpiece. Let's hope radio plays the hell out of it and it gets the recognition it deserves. Go get it and hear for yourself just how good this project is. Augeri had a hard spot to fill, but has created his own place in Journey now. Go Steve, go!

From: Billy Date: May 18, 2001 at 1:15
AWESOME, AWESOME,,,,,AWESOME!!!! The new singer is GREAT!!!!! Don't forget Deen on drums--that guy is a serious pounder. Damn this band is better now than they have been in years and this CD is one of the best I have heard in so long. AWESOME ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!

From: Gabriel Date: May 21, 2001 at 0:47

From: Jiminy Date: May 26, 2001 at 5:14
I was led to this CD by the reviews here and the high score it was sporting. Expecting nothing less than excellent I was surprised to find the production off-target and the songs uninteresting. Another strike against Kevin Shirley's name as a producer has-been. Sorry for this negative review but I don't want other people to haplessly fork over cash without a test listen as I did.

From: RockDude Date: May 29, 2001 at 14:53
Some may not like it, some may love it. Either way, it's above average. As for production, I've done studio work for years myself, and the production on this is good. Yes, there's room for improvement on anything, but overall this CD is really good.

From: Ray Date: June 2, 2001 at 10:51
Schon's playing is hot on this CD! Some of his best work in a long time. ALL THE WAY is a GREAT song.

From: T-BONE Date: August 15, 2001 at 13:04
I used to listen to Tyketto years ago when Steve Augeri sang for them. I remember thinking to myself that he sounded a lot like Perry. Irony strikes and he's singing for Journey now. Nothing against Perry, but Augeri sounds incredible singing all the old Journey tunes and he could go tune for tune with Perry. Again the guitar work on this cd really shows off Neal Schon's talent and writing capabilities. Journey's still going strong and will be for years to come. Great cd guys!!!!

From: Eugenio Chahin Date: November 2, 2001 at 8:24
Well, Neal it´s good that you are proud of the solo riff on "Who´s Crying now", it is great! But you didn´t have to copy it exactly, right? (check the solo on Signs of Life, if you don´t know what Im saying)

From: BACKLASH Date: November 3, 2001 at 8:01
IT´S A REALLY MASTERPIECE ,STEVE AUGERI IS A GREAT SINGER AND SONGS SUCH AS "TO BE ALIVE AGAIN" OR "KISS ME SOFTLY " ARE FANTASTIC THAT´S AOR IS ALL ABOUT

From: Rycheage Date: November 11, 2001 at 17:45
This CD is worth every penny. If you do not have this one get out and pick it up. The songs are catchy and the band is tight. Excellent musicianship.

From: JRNY SUCKS Date: December 28, 2001 at 3:49
This cd is not Journey,it's a cover band .Wake up people. It does not sound like Journey nor do they play like Journey.Neal wants to make a mark into the rock n roll hall of fame useing Augeri for the way there

From: koogles Date: January 2, 2002 at 16:56
Ignore the review above mine. This IS Journey and it's very much in keeping with the sound they patented. Steve Augeri is absolutely incredible and went well beyond my expectations. The songs are tremendous and the standard is high. This is the best AOR CD of the 21st century so far.

From: msosam66@hotmai Date: January 3, 2002 at 14:39
This cd is better than the "TRIAL BY FIRE", "ARRIVAL" is less "sad" than the other, maybe the first half of the album is more insteresting, than the second, I feel like the record begin very good, but loose something in the way...But I like it. Steve Perry still being best singer than Augeri, even Augeri is a pretty good singer.

From: hard rock hank Date: January 9, 2002 at 21:09
Best journey album since "Frontiers". I agree with msosam66 ,Augeri is a very good vocalist, but there is only one Steve Perry.

From: SIXXSWINE Date: February 12, 2002 at 22:22
A fair album by a fair band. They do what they do well. Though the music climate has changed dramatically since their "prime" they push forward, this time without Steve Perry. For those fans of the "new guy" check out Tall Stories. While I can't see them do what Van Halen did with their second singer, there's still a small market for this music. The production isn't great, some of the songs aren't well written, the ones that are great make up for it. I wish them well. 8.5!

From: Richard Hall Date: March 9, 2002 at 14:07
Journey never releases bad albums ,this is one of their finest. The only let downs on this c.d. are the more rocking songs which seem a bit out of place in terms of Journey's trade mark style.Tracks like "Nothing Comes Close","All the Things "& "I Got A Reason" are not bad songs it's just that I would rather hear bands like Brother Cane, Damn Yankees or any other mid-western rock band do these kind of songs."Chain Reaction","Edge Of the Blade " ,"Escape" and "Seperate Ways" Are Journey at their R

From: Mark Date: March 9, 2002 at 19:08
I happen to really like this. How can a band not sound like Journey or play like Journey, and yet be a cover band? Don't cover bands play AND sound like the band they're paying tribute to? Anyway, great CD. Augeri's vocals are awesome, and there is no problem with the production.

From: Alex Date: March 29, 2002 at 23:07

From: Rockhead Date: April 6, 2002 at 3:30
This a very good release by an awesome band, but I have to say...there are too damn many slow tunes on this cd!!! What the hell is Neal thinking? The rockers really rock guys, but 2 Ballads would have done the trick. There's probably 7 on this cd. That's overkill. They are great songs by themselves...but too many for one cd.

From: Javi MR Date: April 7, 2002 at 0:00

From: Reno Date: May 8, 2002 at 14:11
I agree with Rockhead. The ballads are very good songs, but there are too many on this cd. Tracks 1,2,3,4,8,and 13 are my favorites. I bought the DVD for this tour from Las Vegas. Steve Augeri totally rocks on all the old Journey tunes. These guys refuse to lose a step after all these years. It's a toss up for me between Perry and Augeri. Either one has a very soulful and excellant voice. I was kinda unsure of it at first until I bought the whole cd and saw the DVD. Augeri is the real thing

From: TIM Date: June 6, 2002 at 0:20
Augeri is really close but he doesn't match or exceed Perry. He does the job really well though and I wish him luck. I've heard him sing Perry's old tunes and he sounds excellent, but just a touch short. Deen is a definate plus for the band. I think this band might be a bit tighter than before which could help things. Great album overall.

From: ThunderDan Date: June 13, 2002 at 19:37
Unbelievable album! How can anyone NOT like this one?? Whoever doesn't isn't a true fan of this great band. The ballads are great, and the rockers are even better! A must-have for any AOR fan.

From: chief7 Date: June 13, 2002 at 22:22
Great CD. Steve Augeri is awsome. I have followed him since he was in Tall Stories and Tyketto and he fills Steve's Perry's spot just fine. Good choice Neal and John. Whole album is awsome.

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: June 13, 2002 at 23:27
WOW!! I didn't know that Steve Augeri was in Tall Stories! I saw them open up for Mr. BIG back in 1992. After that show I never heard another word about them. I do remember the singer and I thought that he looked like Gene Wilder. lol...... No, really, I did!

From: Jay.Brit Date: July 2, 2002 at 1:00
Wow - where has this gem come from - I must have been asleep for the last two years thinking Journey were finished, this is an amazing must for all fans of the band, one small gripe - no Steve Perry, but after a few plays who notices!!!

From: booper71 Date: July 12, 2002 at 11:55
Really great disc, steve augeri reinvents himself and makes good on the promise he showed in tall stories and tyketto. Not as awesome as trial by fire but better than raised on radio.

From: Phantazm Date: July 22, 2002 at 23:18
Pity there are no demos to hear in this page... must check it out.

From: Steve T Date: July 28, 2002 at 13:40
Great album and belongs with the best of the Journey back catalogue. Steve brings a slightly blusier feel to the vocals and some truly great songs elevate this album above the also rans out there. Personally I think that the songs which Steve helped write show the direction for the band but there are no stinkers on this cd. Proof positive that Journey can live and grow without Steve Perry. There is more of a grandiose feel to the band on this album and less of a radio friendly unit shifter.

From: Goodyear87 Date: September 8, 2002 at 21:56

From: Dunlop88 Date: September 9, 2002 at 11:20
All comments from that funny guy above are totally right : a MASTERPIECE

From: ROGER RABBIT Date: October 13, 2002 at 0:01

It's a good album, but I found it a few soft.

From: freddy de keyze Date: March 10, 2003 at 13:08
Good CD, but not a classic one. I must admit that Journey has never been my favourite band, but with Frontiers etc. they delivered a great piece of work. Steve does it right, but the songs are not strong enough. There are better, lesser known AOR bands out ! But, not bad at all and a lot better than all that modern, so called nu-breed stuff !!!

From: Gar Date: March 10, 2003 at 21:02
I agree with Freddy on this one. There are some really strong songs on this, but it falls short of their best work. Augeri is excellent throughout, and the production is good, but the main problem is that there are too many unmemorable songs here. Journey have never done a bad album and this is no exception. But is it a classic? No, I don't think so.

From: Tom Morton Date: April 11, 2003 at 20:47
Augeri or Perry while this CD is good, Augeri just seems to lack the passion that Perry had no matter which album you think is the best that Journey has done over the years who would you rather listen to for the rest of your life Steve P or Steve A for me it has to be Mr Steve Perry, the writing that messers Schon,Cain and Perry did just had so much more passion in their writing, their skills combined just oozed class make up your own mind, BUT WHO WOULD SCHON PICK?

From: ted Date: May 16, 2003 at 13:58

From: Date: May 31, 2003 at 22:51
UN MUST!

From: Trick Taylor Date: June 16, 2003 at 21:15
Just saw these guys with STYX and REO. I have been a fan of Augeri since Tall Stories, but he just does not seem comfortable singing live with Journey. His voice is not the problem, it's an apparent unwillingness to be a showman. Another problem was the pace of the show. They would get things going and bring things to a screeching halt with Neil playing the National Anthem! WTF! Journey needs to try a lot harder if they want to be kings of the DINO-ROCK tours.

From: Harvey Date: June 29, 2003 at 12:04
I love the Tall Stories album and am also a big Journey fan, so I couldn't wait for this album. Unfortunately, it is over-long and has far too many ballads on it. I heard that the reason it was delayed was because Neal Schon complained to the record company about the number of ballads on the final product. Sounds like they didn't listen to him. Still worthwhile, but it's hardly "Escape" or Raised on Radio".

From: ROBERT Date: September 1, 2003 at 9:49
I LOVE YOU!!

From: Poderoso Yiro Date: September 14, 2003 at 23:30
ASI ES, ESTOS SON LOS DIOSES SAGRADOS DEL AOR Y QUIZA DE LA MUSICA ROCK EN GENERAL, MUSICALMENTE NO HAY DISCUSION ANTE TEMAS DE CALIDAD ILIMITADA Y UNA FORMA DE HACER ROCK MELODICO QUE YA ES TODO UN CLASICO, CON TODA LA CLASE Y MAESTRIA QUE SIGNIFICA LA PALABRA JOURNEY, BIENVENIDO AUGERI, SE TE VA A EXTRAÑAR PERRY, PUES NO QUEDA MAS QUE PONERLES UN 95(PARA QUE SE SIGAN SUPERANDO!)

From: Mike Date: September 26, 2003 at 12:17
Amazing Songs....id say half the album was outstanding. and half was ok. great choruses. great vocals. i personally hated steve's vocals on tyketto stuff. but this is top quality. :0) its in my top 10 best ever albums

From: ZIKI Date: September 27, 2003 at 8:15
TODO ESTA DICHO, PARA MI JOURNEY ES LA MEJOR BANDA DE AOR QUE EXISTE, CON UN STEVE PERRY INSUPERABLE Y AHORA CON STEVE AUGERY MANTIENEN SU STATUS, SON LOS MEJORES, NO HAY DUDA, OJALA ALGUN DIA LOS PODAMOS VER EN ESPAÑA

From: John Date: September 29, 2003 at 16:54
'Higher Place', 'To Be Alive' & 'Nothing Comes Close' are some of the best songs Journey has ever put to tape. If I could change anything, I'd cut 'With Your Love' and 'Kiss Me Softly'. Two more ballads that were simply unnecessary. Shirley did a great job producing this album and the addition of Castronovo on drums is a great idea. This is 3 ballads too many of being a perfect Journey album. 9/10.

From: Patrick Date: September 29, 2003 at 17:15
Just add "Signs Of Life" as the best song Journey has ever recorded

From: bp140 Date: October 6, 2003 at 15:29
I saw these guys tour for this album. I wished they played more of these songs from this album live. I can't say that about most of the 'classic' rock bands still around. Most of the time I see one of these bands, it's time to get a beer, or use the restroom when they play new stuff. Not so with this version of Journey (not that Steve A.'s Perry covers were at all bad). If only groups like Styx could replace members when they leave like Journey did with Steve Augeri, classic rock would rule!

From: Phil Date: October 6, 2003 at 23:42
Yeah, that's right bp140. Every classic rock band should replace the old guys with younger, sound-alike clones who don't have a clue how to actually WRITE this kind of music, but are content to rip off an artist's catalogue with cheap imitations. NO THANKS! Journey is not Journey without Steve Perry. Styx is not Styx without Dennis DeYoung. REO is not REO without Gary Richrath. These are just poor quality cover bands ripping off the original masters!

From: ADSS Date: November 24, 2003 at 13:54
The fantastic album Augeri is a very very singer... the king is dead, hail the new king... Perry not dead but not sing... so... VIVA STEVE AUGERI... hey, this time the new record...

From: Date: January 19, 2004 at 22:05
I just crapped myself reading from another Journey revue that "Journey with out Steve Perry is like WW2 without Hitler, it can't happen" Man that was funny. I don't care about the new guy. They should patch it up with Perry, send the new guy back to his hairdresser job at Fantastic Sam's, and do a full blown reunion tour. It would be sellout after sellout, and they would be selling out but who cares. Bring this original lineup back to the people!! It'd be good to see Perry's giant schnazz again!

From: James Date: January 20, 2004 at 0:25
Ahh, but the original lineup didn't include Perry. Augeri does a fantatsic job on the old material and this album is 10 times better than the Trial By Fire CD. This lineup has the potential to make some great music. would have loved to see a couple ballads taken off this cd and a couple of rockers in the style of Higher Place added to it.

From: Date: January 20, 2004 at 1:02
In my book, the fat keyboard player guy from the 70's doesn't count. This band became the real deal and elevated into superstars when Perry came aboard.

From: davesworld Date: February 1, 2004 at 23:44
Just listened to this and it is a great album. I didn't know if I'd like it without Perry, but it is as good if not better than Perry. I highly recommend it to anyone!

From: TOCALLO Date: March 16, 2004 at 16:59

From: RODOLFO Date: April 1, 2004 at 18:58
ESTE CD ARRIVAL DE JOURNEY TIENE UNA BALADAS EXCELENTES, SORPRENDE STEVE AUGERI, PERO JOURNEY CON STEVE PERRY ES OTRA COSA FUERA DE SERIE, LA VOZ AUNQUE YA NO ES LA MISMA DE ANTES , PERO EL CARISNA DE STEVE PERRY, SON INIGUALABLES. CREO CON STEV AUGERI HABRA JOURNEY PARA RATO SIEMPRE EN CUANDO SE INSPIREN CRANDO CANCIONES INOLVIDABLES. DESDE LIMA- PERU RODOLFO

From: E>W> Date: June 23, 2004 at 15:22
Looks like Journey, sounds like Journey, but something is missing. Oh Yeah, Steve Perry! While Steve Augeri holds his own and sounds alot like Perry, and Jonathan Cain and Neil Schon are pretty good song writers, Steve Perry's talent and skills are what really set Journey apart from other AOR bands. Don't get me wrong this album is good, some of the songs really do sound like true Journey songs, but I can;t give it a high rating without Perry. Come back Steve we miss YOU.

From: Rockhead Date: June 24, 2004 at 4:41
E>W> You are missing the point!! Steve Perry resigned Journey to the trash can, after he refused to tour or indeed have anything to do with the band. I agree that classics like Frontiers and Escape were vital releases with Perry on board but these were decades ago. Trial By Fire was overall weak with only 4 songs cutting the mustard and the remainder far too ordinary. Compare TBF with Arrival and there is no comparison. Arrival sounds like a band fresh and happy with a solid set of songs

From: Rockhead Date: June 24, 2004 at 4:44
cont... TBF sounds tired and jaded, recorded by a group of people with one eye on the $. Steve Augeri is doing a sterling job and if we want this great band to keep releasing product, he is the future. To not grade an album highly because the original singer is not involved and irrespective of the quality on offer seems a little shallow. Steve Perry and Journey are gone., resigned to folklore and history. Long live Journey (in any form)

From: TIM (2) Date: June 24, 2004 at 9:31
Ignoring the fact that this is Journey (am personally a little too young to remember anything before "Raised on Radio" anyway) this is a killer CD in it's own right. The first 3 tracks alone make this worth buying. Am annoyed I bought the Jap version for the bonus track: "To be Alive Again" which appeared later on the US/Euro versions anyway! Bastards. Awesome track though.

From: Rocker76 Date: June 24, 2004 at 16:40
Rockhead: correct me if I'm wrong but I was thinking that it was Schon, Cain, etc that chose not to collaborate any longer w/ S Perry. Didn't he have some hip issues and they wouldn't wait for him to rehab to tour?? I may be wrong on that...As far as Arrival goes I thought it was too laid back. Not enough "rock" songs on it. To me, classic Journey is a combo of great ballads & great rockers (i.e. Frontiers, Raised On Radio). Arrival was way too sappy even for Journey.

From: Rockhead Date: June 25, 2004 at 8:28
Hey Rocker76- I think it depends what side of the fence you listen to! As I understand it Steve Perry wasn't keen to tour full stop. The hip issue obviously didn't help, but as I understand it it is definately Perry that wouldn't tour. There were also rumours that he lost confidence in his abilities. If you look at post TBF product and touring schedules-it certainly looks like Perry is now a recluse. As JK put it "its like having a ferrari but someone else has the key" They wouldn't wait I think

Rockhead - good point! And the bottom line is that Journey are a classic band and a GOOD band with or without Perry. To me it just seems like they've lost their classic rock edge & sound (like Def Lep on their 'X' album). I saw Journey with Augeri back in '99 and they definitely have chemistry. The classic material sounded great with Augeri's vocals. That was pre-Arrival so they played nothing but greatest hits (no TBF songs either). But like I said, they are still one of the all-time greats!

From: Rockhead Date: June 25, 2004 at 11:53
They are my number 1. Schon can do little wrong in my book and I even dig the rawer sounding Ten 13 ep. My tastes are 70's and 80's with some 90's and some more modern but the classic Journey sound is over 20 years old now.As much as i love that era I have the cd's. To ask a band to backwards is unrealistic. The market says classic rock is dead-we say it is still alive. It takes a brave record company to invest on a possible disaster. We can but hope.

From: Rocker76 Date: June 26, 2004 at 10:02
Once again you make a good point and I agree with you 100% about the gun-shy record companies of today. The same labels that invested so much into those classic bands probably wouldn't give them the time of day now. They are reduced to being punchlines or a trivial footnote on a VH1 special. And that is so unfair because the quality of music being produced right now in 2004 is soooo far behind that of bands such as Journey. But people like us know the difference!

This is the only Journey album I have heard completely (I got it for free). I am quite dissapointed, as I expected an awesome album of ballads and rockers. While some ballads are very good ("All The Way"), the rock songs do nothing at all for me. 5/10

INMENSO,GENIAL,INSUPERABLE OBRA MAESTRA DE ESTOS DIOSES DE AOR,"SIGNS OF LIFE" RECUERDA UN TANTO A "BAD ENGLISH"

From: Bruno Date: October 24, 2004 at 23:01
DISCO INMESO NOS TRAEN LOS GENIOS DE JOURNEY. ABSOLUTAMENTE TODAS LAS CANCIONES SON REALIZADAS CON UNA MAESTRIA ENORME Y A PESAR QUE AUGERI NO TIENE EL CARISMA DE PERRY EL SENTIMIENTO QUE LE PONE ES SUFICENTE COMO PARA PONER AL DISCO COMO OBRA MAESTRA DE LA MUSICA EN GENERAL.MIS FAVORITAS SON TODAS MENOS "ALL THE THINGS" (ES BUENA PERO NO TANTO). Journey's best album since Raised on radio is a fact. " Live and Breathe" must be one of their best songs in many years!!! We must go back to the early 80's I believe to find anything worth matching this song up against. Actually that says quite a lot, since RoR was such a good album

From: Propane Date: December 2, 2004 at 20:54
Disappointing endeavor, to say the least. Journey progressed so well, to have to backslide and start all over again.

Great album from Journey this one!! I really liked a lot, if you're a fan of Journey you have to buy this! 8/10

From: Gabriel Alves Date: January 11, 2005 at 1:28
The first three tracks are very good! The other songs can´t top them. Jurney is a good band but i think there are too many balads on their records. When it comes to rock songs they are definitely good, but their balads could be recorded by Elthon John or TOTO, and this is not a very positive point!

From: Geoff Date: January 11, 2005 at 1:46
I'm not a fan of Journey and have never got caught up in them and all that surrounds them, but this is a good solid AOR CD. I'm a huge fan of Neal Schon, who sounds great here, and Mr Augeri has a voice on him. I never liked Tall Stories at all but he suits this stuff. The ballads are very limp, IMO, but the majority of the mid-tempo / rock tracks are really quite good. Good stuff.

From: AORmaniac Date: January 26, 2005 at 21:48
"Arrival" is a good CD that rocks pretty well... but can't you see that Steve Perry is missing here? Steve Perry is all about Journey along with Neal and Jonathan but Journey does not need a Perry-clone like Augeri... who is a good vocalist to sing in a Journey cover-band just like Owens used to do before joining Judas Priest! Journey is all about originality and clones like Augeri are not good for the band! Bring back Perry before is too late! We all love you but we also miss Perry badly!

From: Rockhead Date: January 27, 2005 at 4:34
Perry will never go back to Journey and I for one am pleased-this is 2005 NOT 1981. The band has moved on, Perry has moved on and I for one hope they keep releasing product as strong as this with Augeri

I´m a Steve Perry fan but this album is terrific, Steve Augeri well done, keep up the good work!

A great comeback from Journey with the new Lead singer Steve Augeri. This is high quality AOR and one of the best AOR CD`s in the last 5 years.

From: Lennie Date: June 2, 2005 at 7:03
From a lifelong Journey fan, when will people drop the Perry issue?! His last GREAT album with Journey was Frontiers and that was over 20 years ago! Arrival marked a huge step forward for Journey and I for one am glad that this was such a strong release. Just check out 'Lifetime of Dreams' or 'To be alive again'..quality and better than what most bands can produce these days. Roll on Generations.

From: voorhees Date: August 11, 2005 at 11:38
I've been a Journey fan for quite a while but after Perry left i pretty much wrote them off and didnt even hear any new stuff with Augeri until a few weeks ago. I've definately been missing out. What a great CD! There isnt a bad song on here. I had to check the line-up on the HH site though to make sure it wasn't Perry singing because he sounds just like him. What a find for them. Just heard Generations the other day also and while its good its not quite up to the callaber of Arrival.

From: mauricio Date: January 26, 2006 at 14:31
HIGHER PLACE-ALL THE WAY-WITH YOUR LOVE,para los que han tenido la oportunidad de verles ya saben a lo que me refiero.a mi en lo personal me gusta el album por-SIGNS OF LIFE-I GOT A REASON-LOVED BY YOU-pero en este album predomina mucho los temas lentos.en conclusion es un buen disco aunque muy oscuro.sin embargo ellos podrian haber escogido otro cantante (no tengo nada personal en contra de STEVE AUGERY) pero habia otro cantante mejor que el y ese era HUGO, para mi HUGO es mejor que AUGERY. 8/5

From: Carlos A. Date: March 31, 2006 at 13:00

fucking weak ass album! journey hasn't done jack shit since departure and that is what this band should do depart!!!!

From: Lennie Date: May 31, 2006 at 7:47
'Journey has done jack shit since Departure' !!!! LOL - they only went on to record what are widely regarded as 2 of the best AOR albums of all time - Escape and Frontiers! Arrival is a great album by the way - just read most of the comments above.

IMPRESIONANTE.

Mi favorita es "Sign of Life" tremendo tema! 9/10. "I´m Not That Way" es el bonus, que crímen que sea bonus, es un maravilloso tema, bien tranquilo pero con un Augeri que se sale.

I hate to say it but I like Augeri more than Pineda. I like this album a lot better than the new one. It could be due to the fact at where I was in life at the respective times these albums came out but Arrival will always be a favorite second only to Frontiers.

From: masmusic Date: April 21, 2009 at 13:57
I agree with you underworld king! Augeri is a much better fit with Journey than Pin Head OPS! I mean Pineda

top quality release by JOURNEY once again.typical sound, fantastic musicianship ,remarkable musicianship, kevin shirley on board and there you go!highlight of course the astonidhing "signs of life".good stuff

From: rick kerch vzla Date: May 12, 2011 at 13:40
First album post Perry era and what an album!!!...in agreement with the last comment(hair metal again)..talking about Perry's replacement,Steve Augeri, well it was a right move for the rest of the band...sounded and looked just like the main man which is the key 4 them 2 continue as a band(nowadays with another Perry "clone" in Pineda, just vocally talking)...the songs in here vary from ballads, mid tempos and melodic rock/AOR..."Higher Place" is the "song" of the album,"All The Way"(nice),"Signs Of Life","Loved By You"(nice smooth),"World Gone Wild"(great!),"With Your Love"(nice ballad),"Lifetime Of Dreams"(another nice and solid soft),"Nothin' Comes Close","To Be Alive Again" & "Kiss Me Softly"(catchy) are top notch ones undoubtebly...Journey wanted to return in a big long way with 15 tracks plus a bonus which i don't have coz i have the american pressing of the cd but i've heard it's quite good("I'm Not That Way")...fantastic album by all means!!!.95/100

A great comeback with another singer, Arrival is a good example of how to face new life after losing one the best voices the american music, Steve Augeri come from Tyketto and Tall Stories, he did a good job with the songs, givin´ new life with the classics too. Long live Journey! Masters of the game! Pure AOR at its best!

The vocalist, Steve Augeri used to be in the group Tall Stoires.

From: Eric3 Date: March 9, 2016 at 22:20
This might be an unpopular opinion, but this is IMO a top 3 Journey album. Why? It ROCKS! Much better ratio of guitar-driven songs to slower ballads on here than almost anything they did since the early '80s...and the batch of ballads on here might be my favorite of any Journey album. "All The Way," "With Your Love" and "Lifetime of Dreams" are far more emotional than they are corny. And the rockers? Easily among the band's best. Terrific production and terrific vocals by Augeri. There are a few skip-worthy songs (to be expected on an album with 15 tracks); without them, this album is a 90+

From: MelodicMetal4Ever Date: March 19, 2021 at 20:48
To those Ballad lovers...tell me if "With Your Love" is not ONE of the BEST wedding songs??!! When my wife and I got married we had a 80's theme wedding. We first danced to this song and hearing it again brings up great memories. ROCK ON BOYS!!

From: Macca Date: June 16, 2022 at 17:13
interestin seeing the old reviews here.... Augeri was great here......before the voice thing happened... Its a much better album than Eclipse.....with Arnel... which was awful.... but comes under Revelation which was a brilliant Journey album with Pineda...not too hopeful for the new one which is imminent...in 2022..early tracks suggest poor production.... and Arnel is singin in his boots....
