If you notice that a particular Stonebolt CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. Please only submit official CD releases; no bootlegs or cassette-only or LP-only releases.

EPs and CD-singles from Stonebolt are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

Heavy Harmonies Review
From: Dan Date: March 18, 2003 at 0:57
So what happened to the bands that were hitting their stride as disco peaked in the late '70s? They faded into obscurity. At least that's what apparently happened to Stonebolt. As I was listening to this disc, I kept asking myself "Why have I never heard of Stonebolt? They should have been huge!" There's the tragedy of mass market media. Some gems get ignored. This disc is a greatest hits compilation covering their 4 studio albums as well as a few new tracks.

This is extremely melodic AOR, with plenty of keys and vocal harmonies. The sound is truly reminiscent of the '70s, but ranges far and wide. I hear tinges of Glenn Campbell, Jimmy Buffet, and Dan Fogelberg, all painted against a backdrop of a Styx-like instrumental style, with the vocal harmonies of Crosby, Stills, and Nash. Highlights are I Will Still Love You, Extra Mile, and The Love I Found. Most of the songs are mid-tempo ballads or rockers. Nothing ever "rocks out", but then again, you wouldn't expect it to. The sound quality of this disc is extremely polished. Fans of keyboard-driven melodic rock should NOT pass this by!

Rating:93/100

Dan, i agree Stonebolt were a great band that could have and should have been a lot bigger. 'New set of changes' is still one of my fave albums ever.

Enough good material to have made this a double CD. Very underrated band.
