AMERICAN ANGEL IS ONE OF THE MOST TALENTED MISICAL BANDS I HAVE EVER HEARD.THE STYLE,AND SOUND THEY PRODUCE ARE UNTOUCHABLE. THEY HAVE TO CAPABILITY TO LIFT A PERSONS SPIRITS IN ANY OPENING RIFF TO ANY SONG THEY HAVE RELEASED. JAY AYMAR

A great band from New Jersey. Did not get the recognition they should have. A good, straight ahead, RnR album!

From: VenusOne Date: August 17, 2001 at 11:44
American Angel definetely did not get the recognition they deserved. They are one of the few bands that put their soul into their music.

From: Drag-in-Bones Date: May 11, 2002 at 7:58
From a musical standpoint 'American Angel' are more like 'Skid Row' than 'Bon Jovi' but the inspiration stands. Mixing power chords with background harmonies and guitar crying. Awsome!!!

From: Voodoo Date: May 12, 2002 at 6:56
Where can i get the CD? I found the tape on E-bay but want the CD! Can someone rip it with EAC/LAME @192 or better and post it to: alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.heavy-metal? Been looking for this one for a long time. Thanks

From: M. Allen Date: June 12, 2002 at 15:11
This band defines everything that made late 80s hard rock great. Not only did they have the look (big hair, ripped jeans, etc.) but they had the talent to back up their image. A powerful vocalist, searing guitars, hot licks, sizzling riffs, & razor-sharp hooks, explosive choruses, and big backing vocals all worked together to create an amazing sound and some killer songs. In a scene populated by wanna-bes, AMERICAN ANGEL was devilishly good.

From: koogles Date: June 24, 2002 at 18:10
These guys do nothing that mid-80s Great White didn't do better. Better production might have helped make a bigger commercial impact, but somehow I doubt it. Average.

From: SLAMHOUND Date: July 7, 2002 at 20:45
Is this the same AA that opened up for ROUGHHOUSE? I enjoyed the show(if this is the same band). RH WAS THE BEST!! You guys were really good too. Alot of bands in the 80's from the tri-state area really didn't get their due.

From: lamortefille Date: July 18, 2002 at 17:24
Somebody must have this cd...put it up on WinMx, please. EP '92 is up I am also from NJ and saw AA live - they were great. They should have gotten more recognition than they did...TT Quick, too.

From: Voodoo Date: August 14, 2002 at 7:19
I have it and will rip and post it @192K or higher(depends on how i feel)on alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.heavy-metal. L8RZ! 8)

Voodoo, you rule. I have this stuff already, but I still remember the many hours I spent on Napster downloading it. Great album, I can't even tell you what it is that makes m like 'em so much. Maybe you have to if you're from Jersey, gotta like something from New Jersey other than the tomatoes...

Voodoo...I live in NY also..back in the 80's THEY were the station that you literally ripped the knob off and listened all day long (less when the church stuff or pirate baseball came on)..hehe...great great stuff...now ehhh..but back then every tune seemed to be a great one they played...in the early 90's NY had Z-Rock...abet only for a few years...now we have crap....less 102.7 Saturday late at night...Quote the WidoMakr....never more

I get both the NY & PA stations where I'm at, and I can say with a high level of confidence that there is very little worth listening to on the radio these days. I mean f*ck, how many more songs do I have to hear from Godsmack? I get the point dude, you want everyone to go away and leave you alone. I miss the SOU days, I remember when they came on the air. Life was good.

From: Voodoo Date: August 24, 2002 at 18:33
Z-ROCK was cool, but i think it was AM. 102.7 is cool for Saturday Night Rocks & Opie And Anthony 92.3 K-ROCK is cool aswell for NY.

American Angel is still my all time favorite band from 1988. I'm going to see 'trippin on Dolls' on Sept. 7th, but it's not the same sound as the original bands. Does anyone have a copy of the first cd? All of the ones I had were scratched, and they're out of print! Please respond! Vyki24@optonline.net

From: KRANKENSTEIN Date: September 12, 2002 at 6:48
There's a collection available called 'American Angel Archives'. It's a remastered 2 Disc set, released in 1998, that reprints the 'S/T' album and features 16 extra tracks. It's on a label called Gridlock Records Inc. You can find purchase info at www.theirongrid.com. I can't believe EVERYONE doesn't have this. I just did a simple search for American Angel when I bought it. If I can find it anyone can. I must add that their S/T album is one of the best I've ever heard. 'EP 92' is excellent too.

From: Danny Monchek Date: November 21, 2002 at 20:21

What a great band AA was. They were so much better than the majority of other bands. How did 'How can I miss you if you never go away' not make it to the top? Well, Rocco is in Trippin on Dolls, and recently I read that the band voted Best New Band by Jersey Beat features 2 members of American Angel...the hot new band The Blakes. So as far as I'm concerned...American Angel lives on!

From: DawnS Date: May 19, 2003 at 18:59
This band is and always has been my favorite. Back in the Studio One days(The BEST place to rock back then)this is all I listened to. I have had people through the years trying to buy or trade me stuff for the tape. I still have tapes that I recorded live off SOU does anyone else remember when you used to sit and wait for your song to come on so you could tape it? That one line ' How can I miss you if you never go away' has helped me with many a men in the past.THANKS for the music and memories

From: purrfect-kat Date: May 21, 2003 at 13:47
I think this band is pretty good and very underrated.

From: Rycheage Date: May 25, 2003 at 20:21
This band was and is extremely underrated. 'Bring The World Back' and 'How Can I Miss You' absolutely rock. 'After The Laughter' is real good too. I always see this CD on eBay but it usually goes for $20-$25. Worth it in my opinion.

From: TIM Date: May 25, 2003 at 22:41
Liked the guitar but the lyrics are quite stupid in places. Overrated.

11º disco del 89' no lo tengo!

From: chris Date: January 3, 2004 at 18:18
I saw AA in studio one and bought the tape. I still have it but havent listened to it in a long time. just like my xennon, helloween, manowar, exodus, warlock, and savatage tapes. and many others from my youth, they sit in a box. Now grundge, rap and rap-rock are everywhere I look. At 35 with a house and familly im sure brittney spears doesnt care what I like in music. So like the 60s beatles lovers or the wwII generation we 80s people must move over I guess. remember the nights, be glad we had them.

I just recently moved, and ran across my old tapes and demos, one of them being American Angel-it rocked me just as much as when I used to go see them all the time-also at Birch Hill and Studio 1. Wow what a flashback! Randy, I also ran across a tape of Seductive Luck if you are interested. Unfortunately WSOU isn't what it used to be. And by the way, Xenon was with an 'X'....

I can't believe it, I was surfing through the internet and came across info that American Angel is hitting the scene again. That is GREAT news. It's ashame they never were given the chance to make it BIG. They are still one of my favorite bands and still listen to them often. They have a unique sound to them with their awesome vocals, background vocals and great guitar sounds. It will be nice to have them back now that that GRUNGE crap has gone. Looking forward to seeing them live again.

Glad to see American Angel back. Really good band. Bill (poster on 3/23/04), the drummer started a band called Arctic Flame. Another great band. their music is like Priest, Maiden. See their website at www.ArcticFlameMetal.com . Made these two bands or some of the other local '80's could do a show or festival together and get the scene going again.

Man, these guys used to play Northern Jersey all the time! Great great band with awesome shredding guitars and a hell of a frontman in Rocco Fury. Matter of fact, they recorded this album down the street from one of my favorite strip joints!!! Nonetheless, why they never broke big is beyond me. I guess in the early 90s grunge was unfortunately taking over. After The Laughter was a huge huge radio anthem and Bring the World Back rocks out with very intelligent lyrics to boot!

From: Yo Date: March 7, 2005 at 11:26
Hey, youz guys are alright.

From: Geoff Date: March 22, 2005 at 4:40
This is a very good band, and a lot of people seem to know it. Original, confident feel with an awesome sound and great musicianship. Songs like 'How Can I Miss You' are essential to the genre, 'Teenage Runaway' and 'After the Laughter' are great melodic rockers, 'Grand Theft Ecstasy' is a highlight in hard rock and 'Lessons' has hooks to grasp your face by the jaw from miles away... a beautiful, again original ballad. These guys really did a great job here.

I first hear this band in 1990 at Seton Hall University. Little Sister opened for them that night. They were awsome. Went out the next day and bot (sic) the tape and played it for about 6 months straight while commuting to college everyday. Didn't catch their second album when it came out, but did hear the interview at WSOU. I believe it was Rocco who said that Soundgarten or Pearl Jam (can't remember which) killed them because the "in" thing was Seattle bands. Couldn't stand Seattle Scene

From: lemas156 Date: October 6, 2005 at 18:24
This cd (also owned the cassette) was the music of my Senior year of HS. I played the tape to death in my truck and nearly wore the cd out at home. Incredibly strong songwriting and equally stong musicianship - this band should have been huge!!! Rocco still has one of the great metal voices! I still love the entire cd and play it regularly...Bring The World Back, How Can I Miss You, Lonely Brown....EVERY song is classic melodic rock! They sure don't make 'em like they used to!

Pretty good debut by AA...Melodic Metal/Hard Rock stuff with a singer that according to some has some Lizzy Borden vocal characteristics...best tracks for me are "How Can I Miss You","Teenage Runaway","After The Laughter" & "Grand Theft Ecstasy"...enjoyable...86/100

i used to kick back in jr.high and listen to a rock station here in Utah, they literally played something like 5 new bands every hour, well one of them was AA, and the song was How Can I Miss You, and my question in 7th grade was how can I miss this CD? I couldnt, I of course had to order it, from local record shop, and it didnt take as long as Syre to show up, but took pretty goddamn long, considering it was a new release at the time, could have something to do with it being on GrudgeFUCK records! anyways, killer cd, just killer straight commercial hair rock, not really any fillers, pretty killer attempt here, really good job actually, I recommend

I remember when I lived in Northern California (Sacramento area) back in the 1990 and 1991 there was a station that used to play "How Can I Miss You"...GREAT song! I was lucky enough to obtain this CD in a trade several years ago.

Good hair metal/hard rock. The best songs here are:"Bring the World Back","How Can I Miss You" and "After the Laughter" Band with high energy in their music. 80/100 is my score.
