OH YEAH MAN! If you want to hear Twisted Sister's greatest song than listen to this album. "Shoot 'Em Down" is the best they got.

From: Drag-in-Bones Date: August 18, 2002 at 1:33
Thanks for giving these guys justice and serching for these cover to put on your sit. I think you should try to find all covers for the albums that are being added with no covers!!!Great Job Dan!!!

All-out fist pumping metal. This was their best album. Never really cared for "Day of the Rocker", but the other songs more than make up for it.

From: FRANCESCO Date: December 13, 2002 at 16:04
ONE OF THE BEST HARD ROCK RECORS OF THE EIGHTIES.SHOCK LOOK AND VERY GOOD MUSIC.

From: iaffprofireman Date: December 29, 2002 at 17:51
I think this was one of their best. This one and You Can't Stop R&R have a harder edge than the albums that followed. TS is one of those bands who can play it all good, the harder stuff, the more "pop metal" type stuff, whatever. ( Leader of the Pack is about the only song they ever did that completely sucked) This is the kind of group that is just fun to listen to. A great group, and a great album. The rating doesn't do it justice. Check it out and see for yourself.

No real metalhead should be without this disc. Despite the fact that this was the bands first full length disc, they already sounded like the biggest band in the world, and they had the stage show to prove it. "Under the Blade" sports tons of razor sharp heavy metal rockers. I really can't pick out a bad song. Having grown up in NJ in the 80's, I grew up with these guys! TS RULES! One of the first stuff I owned...and I still enjoy a lot. Great band. Best album of the band though rest is great too...even Love is for suckers....well...nearly great in fact.

From: Scandinavia Date: June 25, 2003 at 6:37
In my opinion their best album by far...The songs may be simple but here they don't try to sound bigger than they are like they did later on...The track "Under the Blade" will always be my fave TS song...Truly amazing!

From: Alejandro Date: August 8, 2003 at 9:41
This album is just perfect. I love it. If someone has the 7 videoclips of this band -We`re not gonna take it, you can`t stop rock`n`roll, the price, hot love, leader of the pack, I wanna rock and be cruel to your school- please, send me an e-mail. It is "alejandropc29@hotmail.com". Thanx.

From: Fat Freddy Date: December 30, 2003 at 16:39
I still have my vinyl copy of this album on Secret Records from England, which went out of business shortly after the album was released in 1982... I really should upgrade to a CD copy but I just can't bring myself to retire this classic piece of vinyl!

From: Mortiis Date: February 3, 2004 at 23:00
Well, I don't think Twisted Sister got given a fair enough deal in the end. This IS their best output, and the tracks Under the Blade, Shoot Em Down and Day of the Rocker are among some of the best they ever recorded. mortiis@xtra.co.nz if anyone wants to trade mp3s

From: red Date: February 6, 2004 at 13:24
Probably their best album. Not real big on Day of the rocker, but the rest is great.

From: Impaler Date: February 28, 2004 at 12:35
Good straight ahead metal but not an all time classic.

From: Trick Taylor Date: July 2, 2004 at 17:09
Any posters actually from NYC? I am going to the Big Apple next week and want to know if there any record stores I should check out. I'll be staying by Grand Central Station. Maybe I can catch a Smashed Gladys, Throbs, Spread Eagle, Twisted Sister, Law and Order show.

From: uusiolli Date: August 15, 2004 at 18:13
I don't know if they have re-mastered this on cd. I have to add my comments based on vinyl. Pete Way (producer and UFO bass-man) should be executed for nearly killing this album. Production is deep from the rectal area. Songs are simple, but there's nothing wrong, when they are still killers. Live 2003 those UTB-songs really made TS-show worth hearing. 8/10

From: P.C. Date: December 11, 2004 at 12:27
Hey man , this one is remastered from Spitfire records CD (5024-2). for first time remastered on CD. Sound is stronger and all this rocks like mad . Yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaah !!!

From: ED Date: January 14, 2005 at 9:35
Great debut! Raw power here!!

From: Andrew Date: May 30, 2005 at 23:45
Probably the best-ever album from T. Sister. "Bad Boys of Rock and Roll", "I'll Never Grow Up Now", and "Day of the Rocker" are all corny as hell, but otherwise this is a masterpiece. 9.5/10

From: Beikes Date: September 12, 2005 at 17:18
Probably the best debut to ever se the light of day! 10/10

From: CC Date: January 10, 2006 at 13:12
Had been looking for this one on cassette for years, but no luck. One day I walked into this shop that was basically a way for Our Price to clear out all their warehouse overstocks, and they had a shit load of copies on CD for 99p each! I bought one,and so did my mate! Its actually on the Virgin label, with the code actually being the old Secret code! It also had two songs added (original recordings of What you dont know & Leader of the pack). I still believe this is a rare find!

From: The Godfather Date: January 19, 2007 at 19:19
Great debut with tons of metal goodness! Still my favourite TS album, with tons of attitude to burn. Dee's vocals on What You Don't Know, Shoot 'Em Down, Sin After Sin are just outstanding in conveying meaning, emotion and sarcasm!

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: September 21, 2007 at 22:07
One of the best Hard Rock bands of all times, esta banda si merece estar saturada de comentarios y no pavos escandalosos como los Crue Shoot 'Em Down(este corte sono fuerte en Lima en esos primeros 80's aun recuerdo ese ritmo y ese grito inicial "COME ON BOYS!"), Under the Blade, I'll Never Grow Up, Now! los 3 Superclasicos del album Long Life Twisted Sister!

From: pie75 Date: August 17, 2010 at 9:07
this is an underated metal classic for me and an underated band very simple but brilliant stuff all the same it has raw power and attitude from start to finnish i enjoy this how could you not i only wish they would come to australia as i was only 10 year old when they last came dee snider's the man gteat singer

From: hair metal again Date: June 30, 2011 at 1:19
TWISTED SISTER s debut is a raw, straight ,guitar heavy rocker .the songs are plain and anthemic and overall is a classic 80 s metal release."under the blade" and "shoot em down" the highlights.good release

From: rick kerch vzla Date: March 8, 2017 at 17:22
I own this classic debut on vinyl ..."What You Don't Know(Sure Can't Hurt You)" is my fave song of it...tracks 4 & 7 are also in my twisted book of music.85/100

From: DethOfDragnz Date: January 5, 2024 at 14:58
The poor ignorant public that only knows We're Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock. Twisted Sister had a ton of killer metal tracks that were a little deeper then they sex and partying lyrics you got from most 80s LA Bands. Maybe it was TS New York roots or maybe the influence of NWOBHM. Songs like Under The Blade, Destroyed, Run For Your Life, What You Don't Know Sure Can Hurt You, would not be out of place on a Motorhead album. If you think this band was all gimmick you are very wrong.
