All songs on this EP could have been mega hits. These guys were hot. The recording was well produced and Kohout's vocals kick ass. The guitars rock, Leeds burned holes in his drums(dynamite drummer!), and Bittner's bass thumped low like anything. Damn fine band and the best of their stuff that was officially released.

From: Lena Sinclair Date: April 19, 2001 at 21:15
Great to see they've added the other Jack stuff here also. I LOVE "Partners in Crime!" "Shy Boy" could easily have been a number one song. This band was so good, and I am really glad to see them on the internet now. I'm another one who'd love to see a reunion. Thanks for the great music Grimm Jack.

From: Hank Jarvis Date: April 19, 2001 at 23:44
So cool to see more Grimm stuff on the web. I love these guys. "Shy Boy" got played on radio in Evansville a lot when I was in high school. I got really fond memories of that song. Grimm Jack is still one of the best bands of all time and rank up there with Kiss and AC/DC. Also check out www.ubl.com(ultimate band list) enter Grimm Jack in artist search bar. Cool band and great tunes.

From: Paul Vickers Date: April 20, 2001 at 12:01
Great to see GJ on the web finally after all this time. I have Partners and love it so much. It is as good or better than Kix's Blow My Fuse material. I never did get to see GJ live but would sure go if they play anywhere near Charlotte. Used to hear "Shy Boy" on radio a lot here but been a while. Is this still available now? Been looking for CD of it for years. Excellent songs!

From: Jeff Bailey Date: April 20, 2001 at 13:36
Great EP from the guys. "Shy Boy," "One Track Mind," and "Girl Next Door" were so cool. This version of "Downtown" with Billy singing blows the previous one with Robin away. Dave's drums sounded great, mixed better than 'Jailhouse." This one is probably the most favorite of all Jack stuff except for the unreased material some of us were lucky enough to get hear. Check out my page at: www.geocities.com/bloozerocker/GrimmJack.html

From: Sheila Date: April 21, 2001 at 0:12
Good to see this here on this site now. I really like this one and love ~Shy Boy~. I have this tape but want the CD so bad. Please put out ~Partners~ on CD Grimm Jack and also put out some new stuff. You guys were so good!

From: Aaron Malone Date: April 21, 2001 at 11:29
"Shy Boy" has it all-catchy bridge, memorable chorus, great singalong lyrics. Dammit all, this one should have been a number one hit! Four great, fun, foot-stomping songs are on this EP. All the songs are first rate. Here's another SUPERB recording that will just be part of rock and roll's forgotten history. Even Circus magazine said this one would go places. Too bad they were wrong. maddogaaron@hotmail.com

From: Charlie Date: April 21, 2001 at 13:24
Rockin' tunes on this one all the way! "Shy Boy" and "One Track Mind" are killer songs. Billy's singing here is so hot. I love the drum sound on this one way better than "Tattoo." Leeds was so cool and one of the best drummers I ever did see. This one ranks up there with the best ever. Thanks for Email about this Aaron.

From: Matthew Date: April 21, 2001 at 14:02
It's cool to see the original cover for 'Partners." I have a copy with the cover they re-issued when Paul and Tommy joined the band. Every song on this is damn fine and whoever wrote 'Shy Boy" deserves a grammy because it is one of the best songs ever wrote. That song is so catchy, it's the ultimate pop-metal song. It's a shame that "Shy Boy' didn't make it as big as Bon Jovi or Poison songs because it's just as good and better than many songs by other bands.

From: Christy Date: April 21, 2001 at 15:26
This was such GREAT music. I miss the 80's and bands like Grimm Jack. I agree with the other people who say "Shy Boy" was the best song they ever did and I would love to see Grimm Jack come to Pittsburgh again. They were a super band. Thanks Aaron for telling me about this!

From: Frank Date: April 21, 2001 at 20:39
So great to see Grimm Jack 'Partners" on the web now. I got it when it first came out in the summer of 1988 and wore it out. I got another copy in late 1990 and still have that one. I NEED THE CD OF THIS TAPE!!! My vote goes for "Shy Boy" as one of the coolest songs ever.

From: Erica Mason Date: April 21, 2001 at 21:17
I finally have a chance now to type some words about my favorite recording of all time: PARTNERS IN CRIME. Every song on this work is wonderful. "Shy Boy" is so hot it smokes! I'ved loved JACK ever since seeing them at SLAMMER'S in Martinsburg, WV in August of 1990. I saw them again several times in Baltimore and they were such a great band. Thanks Jack for great songs. I'm your biggest fan! grimmjackfan@yahoo.com

From: Larry Murphy Date: April 22, 2001 at 0:17
I like "Tattoo" but this is my favorite GJ music. I'm going to agree with everybody else here that "Shy Boy" was GJ's best song ever and a classic tune. I'll take this over GNR all the time. Guns 'n' Who? Gimme Grimm Jack! Thanks to Maddog Aaron Malone for keeping me updated on rock on the web.

From: Tammy Date: April 22, 2001 at 11:42
Shy Boy was the best song they ever done and they were a really cool band. one of they best live bands of all times. Billy rules!

From: Mary Hughes Date: April 22, 2001 at 13:01
Excellent material on an excellent recording by from an excellent band. Kohout always reminds me of Steve Marriot of Humble Pie. I never saw the band with the line up on this recording, but I do own it. I saw them several times later with Lestat and Vassa--GREAT! I'll join the masses and toss my vote for "Shy Boy" as the best Grimm tune ever. Thanks to Grimm for all the great songs.

From: Karen Date: April 22, 2001 at 17:58
SHY BOY is just too cool. Grimm Jack should have gone places and mad the bigtime.

From: Skip Date: April 23, 2001 at 12:29
Seen these guys a few times and they always rocked. Shy Boy and Girls Next Door best tunes on this one.

From: Jerry Date: April 23, 2001 at 13:39
Hey Jack fans 'Partners In Crime' and 'Jailhouse Tattoo' are out now on CD. Both albums are on one CD. I bought a copy in Indianapolis over the weekend. It sure does not sound like a bootleg but it might be.

From: Jeff Bailey Date: April 23, 2001 at 16:53
The GJ "Partners" and "Jailhouse" on one CD that many people are finding all over the midwest IS A BOOTLEG! The quality of the recording is good, but the cover is a cheapie. I can't tell you not to buy it if you find it--but just be aware that some dickhead has copied GJ material to sell to the public and is making money from it instead of the band. bloozerocker@yahoo.com

From: Jennifer Date: April 25, 2001 at 12:12
Really nice to see this band getting some attention long after other acts are forgotten. I used to see GJ in NY a lot before I migrated to Toronto. 'Shy Boy' is a great tune and could have been a huge hit. Kohout took the band to new heights on this one, it's a classic indie release. This one is a hell of a lot better than so much other 'trash' that sold millions. Is it on CD? Bootleg or not, if it's good quality I want it!

From: Roy Date: April 27, 2001 at 12:11
shy boy is a good tune and the others are ok to. good tape to party to

From: Stephanie Hulce Date: April 30, 2001 at 10:36
WOW its neat to see a place on the net with this band now. I had forgot about them until I bought a cd a few days ago of this and their other stuff. I seen them in Baltimore years ago and liked them a lot and bought this tape then and it nice to have it on cd now. Shy Boy is such a good song and this band is great to.

From: Paul Tully Date: May 2, 2001 at 11:10
This one is just AWESOME! 'Shy Boy' and this version of 'Downtown' are so great. Kohout gave this band some balls and gave them a real chance for the bigtime. Billy is definitely one of the best rock and roll singers ever. He ranks up there with all the greats. Let's not forget Dave Leeds-that guy is a hell of a drummer too. There was so much talent in Grimm Jack.

From: Leah Timiko Date: May 5, 2001 at 12:36
I've searched for the song 'Shy Boy' on CD for ages and can't find it. It was played on local radio here in Evansville, IN in the late '80's and I loved it. I don't have this one but I have "Jailhouse Tattoo," but I'd love to have a copy of this. Is it available or is it just a bootleg?

From: Todd Date: May 7, 2001 at 14:58
Saw them gig on the Island many times-good band. Very nice songs on this record. 'Shy Boy' is a great little 'happy' tune. Rich and Scott had a good band called Mr. Nasty after they left Jack.

From: Rachel Dennis Date: May 12, 2001 at 10:04
I had there Jailhouse tape for a long time but just got the CD with these songs on it to. I love Shy Boy and I think its a really great song. Is any of there other music still out for you to buy? This band is so good.

From: Willie Donovan Date: May 13, 2001 at 13:00
I got the cd too and wanted to say I think its just a real awesome cd and Shy Boy is the best song from this set but the ones from Jailhouse Tatoo are good too.

From: Samantha Date: May 20, 2001 at 2:12
This is the best stuff they ever did--so much better than "Go For Your Guns." SHY BOY is a really great song and it kicks ass. Great band.

From: Alan Tulagi Date: June 2, 2001 at 10:21
My favorite GJ stuff-it rocks from beginning to end. "Shy Boy' is the best tune they ever did-I agree with others on that one! Also, "One Track Mind" has a cool riff and jams all the way. Kohout was such an improvement over Des Forges on vocals! I've searched the net for stuff on Kohout but found nothing--anybody know if he still sings?

From: Vic Date: June 11, 2001 at 12:16
This is one COOL set of songs! Best stuff they ever did and some of the best tunes to come out of the 80's. Never saw this lineup of the band but saw them later and they were great.

From: donnie Date: June 14, 2001 at 8:55
good stuff. 'shy boy' great song

From: Kim Date: June 18, 2001 at 12:26
Where can I get the cd of this that people have talked about here? I used to have this tape but lost it and it was one of my favorites. Is the cd a really a bootleg? Is Grim Jack on Napster too?

From: Jeff Date: June 21, 2001 at 9:03
GJ "Partners" and "Jailhouse" for sale on one CD is a bootleg. Lots of people have said they've seen it the areas around Washington DC. Please don't buy it if you see it. You will only be helping some jackass make money off GJ. Some people have also put GJ stuff on napster too.

From: Pete Date: June 24, 2001 at 11:17
I'm from Shreveport, LA and a station here used to play SHY BOY some in the late 80's. I taped it off the radio because I couldn't find the song in stores here. I have JAILHOUSE TATTOO and it's cool but I've wanted PARTNERS IN CRIME for years. I hope it's reissued on CD soon.

From: Brian Date: July 4, 2001 at 13:22
'Shy Boy' is one of those songs that would easily have been an '80's rock classic if this band had been on a major label. I have this EP and a METALSHOP music sampler with 'Shy Boy' on it too. Great band.

From: Jason Date: July 14, 2001 at 10:58
Great band and great songs. What the hell ever happened to them?

From: Molly Date: July 22, 2001 at 10:40
great tape with killer songs on it. to have a cd of this tape would be way cool. shy boy is awesome song.

From: Charlie Hicks Date: July 27, 2001 at 13:09
Awesome music! I love this one. Is it on CD now or just bootlegs?

From: Steve Carter Date: August 5, 2001 at 13:13
Much better than their last material. Great singer. Best stuff they ever did.

From: Adam Guilford Date: August 9, 2001 at 19:12
Good songs and good work.

From: Annie Onkara Date: August 23, 2001 at 20:08
I have this tape and I love it so much. I made a backup copy of it years ago before it finally wore out. I want the CD of this SO BAD. I saw Grimm Jack in Baltimore and they were fantastic. They should put out new material and release all that old stuff on CD now.

From: Ken Welch Date: September 4, 2001 at 20:36
Cool to find GJ on the web. "Partners" kicks ass. I seen this band and they were great. Me and my wife seen them several times in Baltimore. Billy had super talent.

From: Diane Gerarra Date: September 26, 2001 at 18:34
I really like Grim Jack and love these songs. They was so cool and had such great songs.

From: Randy Date: October 27, 2001 at 21:37
Excellent material on this one! SHY BOY is such a good song.

From: Phyllis Date: December 22, 2001 at 19:56
A really HOT EP. Top quality songs from a GREAT band. The singer was as good as Axl Rose or Steve Whiteman or anybody else on the scene in the late '80's. Overall a DAMN FINE piece of music.

From: B.B. Greene Date: January 17, 2002 at 16:42
Really good stuff. All the songs kick ass.

From: Eric Date: March 3, 2002 at 16:53
really good songs. where can i get a cd of this?

From: Scott Date: March 8, 2002 at 16:42
You lunatics you're all beautiful!! Grimm Jack should have been stars but anyway... Billy has an on again off again band called Rooster who are terrific and Mr. Nasty (my post - Grimm Jack band) keeps trying to unearth itself. Check it out at www.mp3.com/deedeesweet Scott

From: benji Date: April 3, 2002 at 0:25
great stuff! is it out on CD or is it just a bootleg? I love this tape and it is one of my all time faves. does grimm have any more music out for people to buy now?

From: Bob Frankel Date: May 4, 2002 at 19:36
Great songs! I hope it's reissued on CD soon. This is classic 80's material. Songs like 'Shy Boy' are timeless.

From: Joe Date: May 22, 2002 at 19:50
Really good stuff. Cool songs!

From: Sean Lincoln Date: June 9, 2002 at 14:38
I'm still puzzled today as to why this band never hit it really big. The songs on this ep are very catchy. Is this finally available on cd now or are there just bootlegs being sold?

From: Neil Worley Date: July 10, 2002 at 14:19
Great to see some info for GJ on the net. I saw them play 4-5 times several years ago and they were really good. I'd like to find a cd of this because my tape died years ago.

From: Beevuss Date: August 26, 2002 at 16:03
This one really kicks ass. Better stuff than Poison or Warrant or anybody else in this style of music were doing at that time. I'm still looking for a cd of this one. Is it available?

From: Herb Date: September 8, 2002 at 12:42
Love to see this band again. Great tunes!

From: Donna Date: December 10, 2002 at 19:21
Classic rock and roll at its best. SHY BOY is one of the best songs of the 80s.

From: Cameron Deliano Date: January 1, 2003 at 20:09
This is really great. All the songs are catchy and just plain "cool rockin' tunes." Anybody know if it's available on CD now?

From: Gene Pekatoe Date: October 22, 2003 at 0:34

From: Kim Long Date: October 22, 2003 at 20:46
Fantastic tape!

From: Tyler Cooper Date: December 25, 2003 at 14:56
Shy Boy is a classic 80's rock tune--just as good as Poison or CInderella could have done. This one needs to be released on CD!

From: Penny Boyer Date: March 6, 2004 at 14:49
Man it is great to find a site about Grimm Jack after all these years. I saw them in Huntington, WV and Ashland, KY and it was really cool. They were a great band. I still love this tape.

Great band! Great EP!

From: Studboy Date: May 7, 2009 at 19:39
Didn't see in any of these threads if it says this or not, but this has never been officially released on CD, if you find one it is a boot. Got this info straight from the guitar player Jimmie.

From: Stageright Date: January 8, 2010 at 21:13
Looks like it's been awhile since anybody posted here, but for anyone who's interested.....Grimm Jack has reformed and will be releasing new music soon. www.grimmjack.com

From: OxRox Date: June 19, 2010 at 21:47
Four great songs--all should have been big radio hits. "Shy Boy" got some regular airplay in the south, but all four tunes rock. If these guys would have had major label backing they would have gone right to the top.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: June 25, 2015 at 19:46
Still the production is way too average but these songs rock much better than the ones from the band's debut Ep..."Downtown" is the best cut followed by "Girl Next Door"...the other 2 songs are really enjoyable ones as well...Faster Pussycat's little brothers in here .80/100
