| On the first pass through for this CD it seemed that two separate bands pooled their music into a single release. The bombastic Eric Bloom tracks didn't quite jive with the softer, but wider ranging, Buck Dharma cuts. Repeated listenings melded the styles together with the combined jewel culminating in Still Burnin'. Many good tracks here that never rode the wave of radio including See You In Black, Damaged, and the emergency room inspired Real World. Excellent guitarwork and production values.

| I agree that the production and musicianship is good and everything but if it had not been for originals "Harvest Moon" and "Live For Me", I would consider this a devastating release. Yeah, including a live version of "In Thee" was nice & all but all that says to me is that the band was fresh out of ideas to write even one more track. The tracks I mentioned above are THE reason for a fan of BOC's to buy 'Heaven Forbid'; the rest of the songs suck.

| And as far as the Buck/Eric controversy goes, let me make it perfectly clear that I never liked Eric Bloom, his style of singing and I never cared a whole lot for his guitar playing or even his style of music. I will say that Bloom is excellent at what he does but I have very little appreciation for it. As for Buck? I always loved the guy's voice. He is the only reason I have even the slightest bit of interest in Blue Oyster Cult as a band & I like almost every song he sings in. So there.

| Y'know- I think I have to give a nod to dokken6008's evaluation of Eric Bloom's music evolution. I'm a BOC fan from waaay back and I didn't particularly care for EB's cuts with the exception of See You In Black. Live For Me was too close in sentiment to a song from Dharma's solo release to make it as a favorite of mine. Real World still ranks due to its lyrical content, funky acoustic guitar riff and Buck's singing.

| dokken i think u suck man!this is boc at their best.what are u even doing with their records in you dont like eric voice.dont listen then.its the combination of voice and giutar that makes this band unique.but u missed that.go back to the first album.or buy yourself a new pair of ears.

"Harvest Moon" scares the living shit out of me every time I hear it. Man, I waited 10 years for this and, for the most part, it didn't disappoint. The Eric songs are a bit hammer-headed: I prefer the Buck's subtle scalpel over Eric's blunt mallet. "Cold Gay Light of Dawn", Dan? I won't ask what you think of that song... I think it's fairly obvious.

| "See You in Black" is one of their heaviest tunes. It gets the album off to a great start. All the songs sound fresh. Its great that they aren't rehashing old ideas(well... except for In Thee).

| This band is one of my alltime favorite bands, and this release is awesome. Perhaps the best comeback release I`ve heard in years. Especially compared to the lame comeback releases by Motley Crue, Kiss, Journey and Styx.

| Eric bloom has one of the best hard rock voices ever!!!!....Buck Dharma is good too....Buck is more known for his excellent guitar work....Eric Bloom is the key singer in Blue Oyster Cult...Although Buck does dominate Heaven Forbid.....This is only one of their numerous great albums!!!

| This album is generally excellent and complex hard driving rock. Buck is phenomenal at times on this CD. Vocally, both EB and Buck are good at the types of songs they sing.

| Fantastic return by the BOC. Koogles pretty much sums it up. Harvest Moon being the standout. See You In Black is another personal fave. Eric Bloom has a great and unique delivery.

| Maybe the greatest come back in history of rock music since Perfect Strangers. "Harvest Moon", "See You In Black", "Live For Me", "Power Underneath Dispair" are totally awesome. Great royal hard rock!

| Very solid release from B.O.C. back in 98. After a 10 year drought we finally get a release from the Oyster boys that rocks from start to finish. As a diehard B.O.C. fan I am biased but I like all the songs on this album but my favorites are tracks are 2-4 and 7-10.
